These aren't videos...they're beautiful short films Rolf! Yer a heck of a filmmaker ma man. We in the USA just lost a highly-cherished fly fishing writer Mr. John Gierach. I live but a few miles from where he called home in Lyons, Colorado. His rich story-telling about fishing buddies reminds me of your rich cinematography work. Just a beautiful capture of another adventure...I reeeeally needed this today, thank you!
I don't have time to watch this right now, but I gave it a thumbs up already because you've never disappointed yet! I'll be back to spend time with you when I have a quieter more peaceful moment. Thanks again.
Great video, per usual. I appreciate and feel known by the tension at the end of the film regarding fishing and parenting. I actually heard something similar in “not too steady flow of mayflies”. I love fly fishing for trout in the mountains of south eastern USA, but it takes so much time away from being with my wife and children. I hope that I never get to a point in my relationship with my children that “i hardly speak” to any one of them. The unknown really helps me to remember and realize that the most important thing in my life right now is not the rods, reels, and fish but is my family. Thanks for another extraordinary fly fishing piece, thoroughly enjoyed it and it’s so cool that you are friends with the tallest man on earth. I bought tickets years ago to see one of his shows here in south eastern USA, Asheville to be exact. My mom had our kids and all. We went up to our rental room and all, but because of Covid precautions they wouldn’t let Christian into the country. Our loss! Maybe one day! Tight lines and even tighter bonds with your wife and child(ren), Rolf!
Some deep thoughts in this one. Thanks for sharing, we should all appreciate our friends and what we have. Much love from Austria buddy, safe and health to you and the family.
Helt förlorad i denna video!
Yes, the freedom of being out with friends whom you can be completely candid with - be yourself with - with no fears of offense - no fear of being "cancelled" for having a socially inappropriate thought or opinion - all too rare in today's sanitized world - yet it only makes the fishing and the conversation that much sweeter.
By a far mile the best and most psychologically insightful movies on the internet. I think by now you are building what amounts to an Anthropological study of the very distinct subspecies of homo sapiens that is The Scandinavian Fly Fisherman. Including the endangered sub-mutation that is the culturally sophisticated romantic performer. Very interesting indeed.
Had to have a little peaty whisky to go with this beautiful story. There is something special about guys’ fishing holidays and how far they can take you away from the mundane responsibilities of normal life. Thank you for this chill interlude.
Stunning. Love the pace. The peace. The only thing I don't like is that I realize again that I don't have any fishing friends to share my best fishing moments with.
That's such a great, mythical area to someone who lives in the middle of America. I'd love to visit someday, but for now, I'm just glad you make these videos so someone from across the world can experience what they think is a legendary landscape. Some people may think of the plains of Oklahoma or Missouri in the same way, but think their home is completely mundane-- but it makes everywhere else that isn't home that much sweeter. Edit after the fact: How do you stand being covered in mosquitos like that? I can't imagine not smacking myself every two seconds if my entire body was swarmed!
I thoight Marcus died from complications from black fly bites? Did i miss something? Happy to see he is still alive. Rolf love your films, well done and beautifully narrated.
Rolf can I ask what frame rate you usually film in? And also, your footage is sometimes out of focus. Is this intentional or just happy accidents that you like the look of?
You're by far the best at making fly fishing films with heart Rolf. Beautiful video.....
I try to explain to my wife that your fishing videos are not about fishing.
She won't ever understand.
Beautiful stuff, as always Rolf.
Just perfect Rolf. Your videos are so reliably peaceful and immersive, thank you
Whilst being surrounded by concrete and steel, this makes me want to go back to my childhood in the north. Amazing video as always.

Beautiful film Rolf, thank you for sharing
I look forward to your films. The way you weave words, music and images is sensitive, personal and always engaging. Can't wait for part 2.
This was beautiful!
Not only about the fly fishing but also the boys trip haha
so fantastic ❤
Great mumbling! I like the new philosophical path your art is taking.
Beautiful. The words and the cinematography. Just beautiful Rolf.
Finare än en Hemmingway bok.
Den här video/berättelse är så otrolig vacker. Tack för att dela din talang med oss Rolf.
As a father of a 3 and a 7 year old those last words got me.. Thank you for the reminder. And of course as always: outstanding peace of art!

FINALLY THE GREATEST TH-camR UPLOADS IVE WAITED SO LONG
Poetry. Incredible. Insightful. Beautiful.
If you ever decide to embark on the literary journey of writing a book, I would be among the first to eagerly purchase it.

Glad you like them!
Thank you so much for sharing. I love these videos - always put me in a peaceful frame of mind.
Glad you like them!
Fantastic as always. The arctic char was a real stunner

Stor poesi! Klart för det stora formatet. Rock on Roffegutt!

The voice, the shots, the telling, the fishing, the waiting, the drinking, the live!
Absolutely stunning as always Rolf
Love your videos
Essencesen av varför jag älskar flugfiske så mycket finns i denna film, så fantastiskt berättande Rolf👊❤️

The rainbow in dark clouds apearing. Made my day!
Who needs to be a writer when one can capture moments and thoughts in a format like this?
wonderful video Rolf, thanks
Another great video about what flyfishing is , thumbs up Rolf for the mood that I like so much!
Absolutely fantastic, Rolf! And what Kim said, that's my biggest fear in life. Guess I'll get off the sofa and go talk to the kids for a while.

Så jäkla bra. Text och bild kanoners. Tack för den.👍👍👍
so good. There are images we all see in this video but never take the time to look at. That is where the beauty lies.
Beautiful words. Gorgeous film.
they just keep getting better!
Thank you for making this!
What a nice story Rolf. Loved it.
Beautiful. Funny Too!!!
Always nice to see a Bluethroat. Good to hear some of its song stanzas as well.
Enjoy your videography and narration, the stream of consciousness, seemingly familiar experiences, and thoughts of future adventure.
Riktigt bra som vanligt! imo måste du släppa en part 2!!
Cautivador. Cada toma, cada pensamiento, el ritmo.
I thoight Marcus died from complications from black fly bites? Did i miss something?
Happy to see he is still alive.
Rolf love your films, well done and beautifully narrated.
Another excellent story told. I still don't know how you tolerate being eaten alive by the mosquitoes... ☮ from North Idaho, USA.
Enjoyable video, glad you fixed "hadsome".
Aaah, ja ren nydelse at se på. Tak Rolf :-)..hilsen Torben
Rolf at his best, a classic. Thanks.
More fantastic poetry!
The part in the end about grown up kids hit home. I'm in the stage of dreaming about time for fishing. But what Arne said gave me hope. Sort of.
I can't imagine the point when I hardly talk to my kids. But I'm sure it will be heartbreaking.
You only get better and better
Nice video Rolf!
Really really nice
When I see your face covered on mozzies I am happy to settle on enjoying your world from a distance.
Another one masterpiece🔥
Helt fantastisk som vanlig
