Holy shit. Man, now I should play the mod entirely out of utmost respect to Gunship Mark II. Guy's an absolute chad for releasing the mod in that situation. As for the mod itself, I absolutely love it. As of a day or so ago, it got an update where you could now choose to play either base Half Life 1, Uplink, or Darkstar when you launch it on Steam. The weapons feel SO good to use and the minor AI changes don't even really break the game.
Loved the review. Was waiting for it. But what I loved even more is the fact that you chose to support gunship mark II. You are awesome Jarek. I hope this video gets a million views.
The AI tweak I noticed the most was that the Garg was -too- clever in the airstrike section just before Forget About Freeman, kept chasing me up the tower not giving me half a chance to nuke it :D overall an absolutely fantastic mod
It's cool to see the MP Magnum model being used. Although I always find it odd how it has a zoom function, yet no scope, but Valve gave it a laser sight instead.... Valve and cursed guns man. The M203 MP5 (it does exist tho irl), MP7 with grenade launcher, the double barrel SPAS-12, and the HL1 Magnum. Also, cool to see the OP4 Wrench mechanic put into the crowbar.
That war has ruined and ended so many lives... It really hits you how many Ukrainian devs and modders are out there when you start hearing these stories everywhere
I love that Half-Life is still getting new mods. I'm not sure what to think of the new gameplay mechanics, but I love the look of the explosions, particles, and gibs. I wonder if this works with the RTX mod?
@@xxraptorsc0pezxx Just remembered that the source code of BS and OF was never made publicly available. You'd have to recreate or somehow decompile them to make an Mmod of them possible. A giant bummer. So, I tried looking up if someone already did it. To my luck, I found "Blue Shift Updated" and "Opposing Force Updated". These repositories were made specifically for modders. Heh. Here's to hoping.
This and The Half Life Ray Traced mod are just mind blowing in their own right and it's quite a shame you can't play combine them thanks to spaghetti code.
I guess it says something about the quality of the mod when my only major complaint about it is it sucks I can't use it in Opposing Force and Blue Shift too. The dev said unless Gearbox releases some of their SDK tools then we're unfortunately probably not going to see MMod support for the expansions. Guess I've got another reason to dislike Randy Pitchford, because just like the supposedly "more complete" DNF 2001 build he says he has I doubt he'll release the SDK tools for Opposing Force and Blue Shift too.
You can actually get the same effect as the silencer by hiding behind a corner so that you can see the enemy but can’t see the center of their head. Enemies just won’t notice you firing.
It’s got some jank it needs to sort out, I think Gman should be the only NPC that doesn’t blink, and the change the the second of only two times the ninja assassins appear, making it so they’re basically the least of your concern, should require the mod to put them into other scenario’s, since a big complaint of the original was how little they were utilized, and using them even less isn’t a solution to that, and finally, I REALLY want them to add the other OP4 weapons, as well as an alt-fire for the one that currently has been put in. However, given the mod maker’s circumstances, obviously, all of the issues I have are not only perfectly understandable and ultimately not too important, but what I would like to see added doesn’t even matter. All that matters is that he is safe and of sound mind.

Hey Jarek! You need to check out a new VR FPS that I played recently called The Light Brigade. It's got WWII weaponry, satisfying mechanics, and very high reception on Steam. It kinda reminds me of a hybrid of Gunfire Reborn and Dark Souls, but in VR, which felt pretty awesome to play. Also, good video! Gunship Mark deserves all the support he can get.
I would like to support him on patreon with his situation though I was thinking of something like 2-3 euros a month, but the entry of 5.50 euros + vat is a bit steep for the lowest tier. Oh well. Thanks for the video, Jarek!
•For the pistol silencer they could make an mechanic for if you shoot enemy from behind or out of side they'll die immedeatly and it only applies to marines, vortiguants, headcrabs and assasins. •They could've add monsters or just add some maps between some levels to showcase these monsters. •Xen needed a rework imo but probably developer said "f^ck it none of my bussines" •Overall pretty good mod but the stuff they added like barneys??? was unnecessary but okay 🤨
Haven't played HL1 with MMod but HL2 with MMod, Cinematic Mod and all the silly stuff from Cinematic disabled (like the barbie doll Alyx, dildos and porn everywhere) is the best way to experience it today.

Mean while when I played, it got stuck and never even made it out of the tunnel which is pretty common in the base game as well.
That happens in vanilla hl too, you were just unlucky
You can now bomb the ͏f͏u͏c͏k͏e͏r͏ with the Bug Bomb from the Hivehand's special fire, it'll take a while but it's fun!

I think the primary pistol fire has a speed cap, but it’s certainly faster than the smg.
