This is basically a technical study on an overview of fighting skill sets in MMA; basic kickboxing, wrestling and grappling. It is so fascinating to see how well-rounded Sambo is. No wonder they're so successful in MMA! Thanks for sharing! Very technical sparring with no ego! 🙂
I actually thought Bulat was under skilled in the striking department. Immediately it's clear his wrestling is excellent but I think he'd struggle in a competitive MMA bout.
I try not to pick favorites, but if I had a fav Jeff Chan video, this may be it. Very fun, controled, intense, balanced, respectful. Everything we aspire to in a spar. 🙏
Highly technical, wide variation of attacks, good pace, and yet very careful not to damage each other. This is one of your best sparring vids. Thanks, Jeff.
Bulat has some insane throws, makes it look so effortless, the ground game and stand up was on point as well. Great job at showing how effective sambo is
This is by far the best sparring video I seen on your channel. Wow!! So many techniques and such a respectful yet technical spar. I had to watch this over and over again to make notes of all the moves. Thank you so much for sharing this. Absolutely brilliant this one was!
5:50 that hip throw was so clean. In Sambo they have a habit of keeping a hold of the sleeve after the throw because it makes it harder for the opponent to defend, which is how he got the armbar just before Jeff noticed. More Sambo videos please! there's too little high quality Sambo content on TH-cam
@@unco_pk_traceur7748 idk you're probably right. I think the one I mean you don't go to your knees but instead you stay standing and pull the opponant's hips towards you and block then lift with your own. Similiar principle.
Knee Taps are one of the easiest and most effective moves in martial arts because the position to pull it off is so common. Another part of what makes it so effective is that it is so often overlooked by so many different martial artists and martial arts forms. As a former bouncer at 130 lbs i can tell you ive used it on people twice my size with ease around a hundred times, works good on people in chairs who refuse to leave also... You can remove them from the chair and put them onto their back side and you have a hold of their foot already so you just take off running with it! Tons of fun and super exciting for the onlookers! Thx again for excellent video!
@copa593 I worked in a big club with three floors (I'm a bigger guy) we had a few small guys, but we also had 9 bouncers on each floor at any given time, so a smaller guy - or any if us for that matter - would only have to hold their own for a few seconds - long enough for backup to get to them.
@@copa593 There are different tasks for different kinds of bouncers. I used to train a guy who was part of a bouncer team in a big club, he was a relatively small guy, good looking and soft spoken. His job was to be the first to attend a situation in the club and try to verbally de-escalate. Of course the guy had quite a few years of martial arts training, but basically his job was to be polite and try to avoid any kind of violence, if possible. If he failed to get any results, then came the big guys, basically a few heavy weight Muay Thai fighters from ex-Soviet republics that would use the hard way. And outside in a car always waited another couple of guys with guns, just in case (they very seldom had to interefere). But the little guy's part was very important too, and of course in certain situations with very aggressive people he would have to engage them himself till the gorillas arrive.
