I had a 11 MDX with the 6AT with zero issues with the trans. I had a few 16-17 MDX loaners with the 9AT and experienced the same issues of quirky up/down shifting behavior. Add in the same issues with the 1st gen TLX v6 9AT also having the same quirky problems (and failures with TLX 9AT replacements). Even the 18-20 RLX skipped the 9AT and had the new 10AT for tech models (7DCT for RLX Sport Hybrids). Ended up upgrading to a 19 MDX Adv Sport Hybrid with the 7DCT. The 7DCT is extremely smooth DCT with almost invisible shifts, always seems to be in the right gear for performance, cheaper to service, and zero issues after 66,000 miles of driving. I belong to several Acura forums. The majority of owners with the 14-20 MDXs said 19-20 9AT MDXs corrected those shifting issues with software and physical hardware changes. I would look to the 19-20 MDXs if you like/want that gen.
@@mrgold3591 Thank you so much for the detailed message. You are right. The older transmission was the best and never gave me any problems. My 2024 MDX with 10speed drive and shift is good so far 🙏
Shaeey scene. I was really planning on getting a used mdx 2018 . I drove it for a couple of miles and didn’t feel a thing. It has done only 50k kms. So these transmission issues I heard about are real! There are no fixes too?
17-20 mdx transmissions feel like they are fishing for the gears.. and it's normal (smh) the previous years and the newer years don't do it and they respond much better.. so i know exactly what you're talking about..
@agblend I've been through most of the mdx's.. I still own a 14, 15 and 20.. just traded a 19 for a 25.. decided against keeping the 19 after the rod bearing fix.. my 14 and 15 still drive with power and no hesitance on pressing the gas.. the 19 and 20 both hesitate and shift gears against the normal feel for transmissions .. the 25 much better but honestly the 6 speed 14 and 15 still got that rhythm you want

@@nick4742That’s right. Other than that car is perfect
Great content! I think it would be even better if you could slow down a bit while speaking. Keep up the awesome work!"
@@psychphysique26 I will keep that in my following videos. Thank you 🙏

@@bigdutchocblends4477 I am so happy I got rid of the 2018 Mdx new one. It's a fantastic performance

@bigdutchocblends4477 that's right ❤️
Ma man, try to reduce filling words
“You know” was said way too many times it was heard to concentrate on the message you are trying to get across
I will try my best to fix that problem in my coming videos. Thank you
