    I have a 2019 street glide sp. I added the tour pak and luggage rack like you. Also floor boards for the passenger. Tour pak weighs about 32 lbs. When it's on you have a long distance cruiser. When it's off you have a sportier bike. Last month I rode solo (without the tour pak) from cent. Oh. to south east Ok. Packed my saddle bags and strapped on a water proof bag to the back fender. I couldn't believe how much more nimble the bike handled. Congrates and enjoy.

      I need to put some luggage in it to really feel the difference. I didn’t see a big difference so far, but haven’t really put it to use.

  • @rcl6371

    Great. Tour Paks are good. I did some of the reverse, got a Road Glide Ultra, then a quick disconnect kit, lower screen and standard seat to trim it down. Then that all goes back on for touring. Locking H-D Detachables Latches are great too. Locks it all up. If you also get a passenger back rest to use at times, use one lock for the tour pack and one lock for the back rest.

    • @Broncoride

  • @NoodlesNJ1
    @NoodlesNJ1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was in this dilemma about Storage, I decided to go with an 2021 Ultra Limited with removable Tour Pack. If I purchased the Street Glide, I would have added heated grips, heat deflectors, Lowers, & the Aux front Lights, I would have spent more to basically to turn it into the Ultra. Taking off the Tour Pack, and changing the seat to the Saddleman San Diego Pro gives it the Street Glide look I want, however, with 1 more inch of suspension travel. If you want a more streamlined look when your riding by yourself, you can take the backrest off the tourpack, and plug the screw holes. Looks great. I recommend to anybody that owns a Harley is the first Upgrade should be the Suspension, either Ohlins or Legends, it will be a difference you couldn't believe existed. It feels like you went from solid rubber tires with no Suspension, to Rolls Royce with handling capabilities around turns. Great Video!!

    Colin, just a heads up, if you use the rack for luggage, eventually it can cause cracks in the lid. I know tons of folks that has happened to, the fix is to use larger washer on the legs to spread the weight out. These are the ones we are using, might want to check with the Harley crowd. Hard to fix when the lid cracks, easy to just put on the washer. Just a heads up. cyclemax.com/inc/sdetail/trunk_rack_washers/117/427

      @@Broncoride The last time I ordered the screws but they came with my tour-pak so I ended up with extra. So this time I didn't order them and again they were in with the hardware for my tour pak. I was missing a couple of washers to mount the tour pak though. No biggie as I have lots around. The chopped mounts with 4 bolts and fender washers. The king had the studs attached to it if I recall. If you can't find the screws for the lock they are part number 10200062

    • @Broncoride
      @Broncoride  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a good question. I’ve really never thought of that. I don’t have super loud pipes, but I don’t recall it being any quieter. Someone needs to science this and find out. I’m interested in finding out. 😎

      I am going to try it out. I have a tour pack for my Street Glide. Never used it. Put Rinehart Slip-Ons on and now I feel like it damages my hearing, if I ride over 2 hours. I am going to try it with the tour pack. Makes it look like an Electra Glide, I have the sofa seat also.

      That's a huge reason why I wanted this. I can take it off in a minute, and then the bike is completely different.

  • @nokoolaid
    @nokoolaid 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wonder if it changes how the bike handles, especially with wind blowing. I don't have a HD, but the topcase changes the behavior when it's windy out. I get pushed around more.

    • @Doug_Morgan
      @Doug_Morgan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can feel cross winds a bit more if they are strong. Not a night and day difference or anything but there is a slight difference. The Street Glide is pretty planted on the road. I know with my Yamaha adventure bike or my previous FJR I could feel the wind a lot more with a top case. Especially with the adventure bike with it being so tall.

    • @nokoolaid
      @nokoolaid 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Doug_Morgan Yeah, I ride a 2009 R1200RT and I have the 49L topcase. Better handling at high speeds without it, especially in the wind.

    • @Broncoride
      @Broncoride  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I honestly haven't felt a huge difference. I adjusted the suspension a couple clicks to offset the extra weight, but so far, still rides well.

    I ended up getting a '19 RGU because my wife wanted the "queen seat". She falls asleep back there and I get the helmet in the back on mine and that's when I know she's asleep (so I have to wake her up).

    DUDE...You didnt do enough research for the tour pack. You spent 1100.00 on yours and I spent for the Chopped which is smaller(not as deep more streamlined) mounting hardware...structure plate that goes into the bottom..liner...quick connect brackets...total...350.00. The thing is..the tour packs are ALL made by the same company which is what I found out.
    You paid that much just for the HARLEY NAME.
    I have 3 times the upgrades on my 17 Streetglide special and the only thing I paid for expensive wise was my taillights from Custom Dynamics. 400.00
    Might want to take a look at Amazon for things for your sled. They arent cheap made products.
    Prime example...my LED headlamp...3800 lumens on low beam..4800 on Hi beam...56.00
