  • Presenting the start of my next build.. The West3d Micron Plus kit!
    The Micron Plus is designed by Hartk, a member of the Voron Design Team. The Micron is not an official Voron project, but it is a very popular "mod" and falls under the umbrella of "Printers for Ants". See the github link for the manual, printed parts, and more information!

    Disclosure: I paid full price for this kit, but West3D included several upgrades to help support my channel and showcase them! A big thanks to them for helping sponsor my project.

    This kit ranges in price from $799-$1500+. I purchased the kit with several of the upgrades. Shown in the video is the kit with upgrade options including G2Z, Omron SSR, DLL PDF Frame (not shown in video - it's on the way), Rapido 2 Hot End, Berserker Bearings, LDO Leviathan mainboard, 3d printed parts, and others.

    Nice to see you in another unboxing and build series. Looking forward to seeing this. Looks like a great kit and totally agree a smaller V2 is just cool

    Thanks for the video Greg. Looking forward to seeing the final product and your thoughts / highlights. I have the Siboor V0.2, the Siboor 2.4 and a Fysetc Trident. I also have a Prusa Mini that I want to replace with a core x-y. Micron Plus on my short list, but I'm interested in the Salad Fork (small trident basically.) Haven't seen a lot on the Salad Fork though.

      That’s great, and thanks for watching and commenting! Salad Fork does look awesome too. I believe Steve Builds May have done a live stream on one somewhat recently.

    I'm looking forward to this build. Maybe it'll be my next project.
    Your Voron 0.1/0.2 videos were very helpful during my build.
    Thanks.

    You're going to love it Greg. My Micron Plus blows me away. I've got my Siboor V0.2 printing really well also - but there's just something about the Micron. It prints 95% of what I normally print and it prints extremely well.

    have fun with the build! those lollipops are my favorite lollipops ever, west3d got me addicted to them. love ambrosia asa, prints like a dream, currently printing my trident parts out of ambrosia

    The Micron+ has become my favorite Voron. If the Voron 0 is the 80% printer in the sense that 80% of the stuff you print fits in its build volume, the Micron+, at least for me, is the 95% printer. Most of the stuff I print fits in there and it can basically do everything, my V2.4 or Trident can, while retaining the advantages of the V0 for me: It heats up much quicker than the big printers and is compact enough I can move it around without much effort.
    You've allready planned for the G2Z mod, do the printed parts you ordered also cover the new R1 gantry, or are you still building the old stock one? And if so: Does the kit come with toothed idlers for the XY joints, or bearings for classic bearing stacks?

    • @GregsMakerCorner
      @GregsMakerCorner  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is good to hear that you are enjoying the machine! It seems very promising. Yeah, I have found the 180mm seems to be a really ideal build size. I print quite a bit on the Bambu Mini, but it will be nice to have the enclosure on the Micron +.
      I am not sure yet on the R1 gantry, but since it is just released I may have to do that! The kit did come with both idlers and bearings, I think they sent me both so I will have to decide which to use.
      Thanks for watching and commenting!!

    Good luck! I have been pondering Micron+, but I’m also starting to seriously consider a Trident-based 180mm printer, instead. I’m kinda feeling like the flying gantry might be complexity in a direction that doesn’t speak to me.

    • @GregsMakerCorner
      @GregsMakerCorner  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks!! Yeah, the complexity is definitely unnecessary especially in this form factor. I think the main thing driving me to it is the “cool” factor. Trident based is going to give great results with a lot less complexity.

    Hi Greg! Thanks for your great videos! You inspired me to build a Siboor Voron 0 a while back and it has definitely been a fun (albeit sometimes frustrating lol) learning experience! Are you going to be at the RMRRF this year?

    • @GregsMakerCorner
      @GregsMakerCorner  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s awesome, how is it running for you? Hope it’s good! I won’t be able to attend RMRRF this year but I plan to be at MRRF again. Maybe next year… thanks for chiming in!

      @@GregsMakerCorner It’s been working.. okay 😂 Mini stealth burner was giving me issues so I printed a Sherpa mini which has worked much better! I’m thinking about installing a klicky probe next to help my first layers! Hope to see you there next year! Cheers!

    • @GregsMakerCorner
      @GregsMakerCorner  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@garrettpost3640 Good to hear. I definitely think the mini stealthburner is a bit underpowered and under cooled, so a Sherpa sounds like a great upgrade! I am thinking about going Dragon Burner on mine, and will try some flavor of that first on the Micron Plus. Take care and best of luck with your upgrades!

    Is that a 48v psu?

    • @GregsMakerCorner
      @GregsMakerCorner  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, it is the 24v version. I’m just going to run 24v on all the motors. I do believe hartk had a 48v version.
