I got two living in my barn and they don’t care if I walk right up to them and I just went upstairs a little while ago and I seen them rolling a door knob back-and-forth like a ball and they both look at me and they continue to roll back-and-forth
I had a raccoon family in my attic. The attic has many corners beyond reach and not visible. Searched on the web and found the ammonia treatment. Got two bottles from Walmart and throw a few tennis 🎾 balls soaked with ammonia and the raccoon family gone. Cost $2.51.
Really? Interesting. I've had four 1-year olds removed but momma is scratching around and we are literally planning on doing something more (than trapping) if she is still here on Friday (today is Wednesday 5.12.21). Thanks for the idea.
What kind of "ammonia" did you use? I'm having this problem now in my attic! We spent $ on pest control to come trap them but they left 1 trap at like 5pm and came back the next day around noon. And took the trap away and closed the hole... I thought it was pretty fast of them and that they didn't really care about our situation. And needless to say, the raccoons are back. We've seen 4 at once, and I heard more up there at that time, so I know we have/had at least 5 or 6 up there. Plus I hear them IN THE WALLS! That's so creepy!!!! So what ammoina did you get and use at Walmart!?
You’re brave to reach down to remove that leash! I’m so used to possums being here; they are very skittish but when I try to chase this raccoon off that just started coming around, it wasn’t scared of me at all. I thought it was gone and so I started to go check the cat food in the bowl and saw that it was only about 3 feet from me...I got scared and turned around to run back to the porch and fell going up the steps. Scraped and bruised, I guess my screaming crying and cussing finally scared him away! But not for long he was back the next night and I’m having trouble getting him to stay gone. I do feel sorry for them because their habitat has been destroyed here in town and they really have no place to go. But I can’t have rabies vector animals and last spring we had raccoons AND skunks.
Wow Marcy hope you're alright from that encounter. He's probably coming around looking for food and if the cat's food is accessible he'll keep coming back. Maybe there is a way to put the cat dish out of his reach?
aww they are so cute but they are such pains! They started using my raised bed as a latrine (which i have netting over to keep out the local cats from using as a litter box) & i'm just so grossed out & overwhelmed & frustrated....yuck! You are so kind & patient with that little guy... :) i hope he valued his second chance & your mercy ;)
Congratulations on 1000 subs! You did handle the situation very well. I would not have that patience!!! At that point, the worst thing that could have happened is that you loose your grip on that strap and he goes back in nature with the strap around his neck... Thanks!
Where do you live ? The snow looks beautiful......not too much, not too little. Reminds me of the time I was living in Blue Ash, Ohio. Beautiful winters ❤
Obviously that guy does not know how to walk on a leash. I have seen videos of pet raccoons with a cat harness walking on a leash, so they can learn to do it.
Man.....I was feeding a possum that kept coming around at night. Early last week a racoon showed up. So...I fed him. He came back the next night and I fed him again. By the 3rd night he was taking the food from my hand. Last night there were 2 of them. So....I guess I shouldn't have fed him in the first place. Now, I need to get rid of them both. The new one was still afraid of me... but not the first one. I have no other pets so I guess I'll just ignore them and they'll eventually go away. I HOPE.
This should have been titled " How not to get rid of Raccoons" This could have been handled much better and easier. Also i'm fairly confident Raccoons do not understand English.
Instead of killing that raccoon just do what I did. Buy a live trap and bait it with peanut butter, marshmallows and part of a cut up birdseed stick. Once you have him, drive him to a new home many miles away. If I can do this 6 times to 6 different raccoons, so can you. I think I'm slightly older than you are. I'm a 70 year old woman.
Humane but unless you physically relocate him 50 miles away,he will return. We've been dealing with a huge raccoon problem for 3 yrs, thanks to nasty neighbors who trashed their house, yard, shed etc then abandoned the property to foreclose. Have spent $$$$ on removal,Fox urine, you name it. Now there is rabies over there and the owners LoanCare LLC continue to do nothing. Although we are in the city limits the health dept, animal control etc leave it as well. Good luck
Country Family my butt, just leave for a few mins and the critter would have left on it's own. Also, don't know many country families that have a 2000 dollar Honda generator in their shed.
Oh you got me. Only rich city folks can afford Honda generators. Especially used ones that burn as much oil as gasoline because it's got about a million miles on it. Oh and the bigger generator is a Briggs & Stratton - BTW.
It's more dangerous for the animal than it is for the human, the raccoon is just trying to find a place to live and you want to kill it for that!? Human beings really disgust me.

You are a kind man. Some day someone will return a favour. You will never know.
DUDE YOU GOOOD!
I AINT GOING NEXT TO THESE THINGS
Raccoon have been known to attack people. The raccoons seek a secure space during the day, a shed , a bush, under a porch, any little cubby hole.

I love how polite you were to the huge rodent. Nice job, in getting him out. I hope he stays gone. Thank you, for sharing this.
a raccoon is not a rodent.
Raccoons are closely related to bears. They are not rodents.
@@NACHALCHAIM Not technically. ;) But, other than that, it would depend on who's Grandpa you're talking to. :)
Racoons just want to survive.
Not a chance, not even a sliver of a chance he stayed away.
Haven't seen a coon since that day.
Couldn't you have tossed peanuts outside and just stepped away?😂
Your lucky he didn’t want to fight. If he did he would have opened up on you like a wild chainsaw.
He many not be able to rip a person's arm off, but if he's motivated, he's going to try.
I salute you...that was very bold.
Bold or crazy, I'm still not sure. 😝
hahahahahahha! Why are you evicting this adorable Racoon.
You’re lucky he didn’t attack
What’s the raccoons stay in the Schellenger warms up it’s too cold out there. He wants a place where you can live. In the shelter.

I think he got the message because I haven't seen him since. They certainly can be destructive. Good luck with your garden and thank you for watching.
That face! 🤣🤣🤣
He is adorable and huge! Thanks for sharing.
Do you mind if I kill it ?
You have to keep us updated. You are very patient with that critter! He was BIG!
I'm hoping it was an unpleasant experience for him and he stays away. 😀. Thanks for watching.
@@CountryFamily so did he ever come back? Or did others come back in its place?

He’ll be back.

Mid-Michigan
You have so much more patience than me 😂 I would’ve pulled it tight and choked the mf. Got too many of my chickens for me to be nice 😤
😂
Me too, 100%. I can’t stand these things.

Didn't come back ?
He was probably back that night looking for your chickens.
This is your only chance. If you come back...you're done. Got it? LMAO!! Awesome video.
Cool video thank u❤
Same problem

She has babies in her and looking for a home to nest and birth.
more reason to kill it.
Maybe try cleaning your shed?
They aren’t adorable. They are destructive and carry numerous diseases.
Great job Corey! I think he would have been a goner with me. I’m afraid of rabies and bites. They are incredibly cute though.
Yes they are cute but they love chickens and if they should get into your attic... yikes!
You're very brave I'm so afraid of those things..🥴
Did he come back? 🤣
Did he come back?😁
I would have let him in there
so... made yourself a new hat yet? ;)
Nope, haven't seen him back since.
Did he/she come back...?... 😳😳😯😯🥺🦝🦝🦝

Poor thing. Glad he wasn’t choked.
He came back, didn’t he? 😒
Nope. Haven't seen a raccoon since then. He must've told all his friends to stay away. 😃

This is why I want to hurt these things. They are pest. You have to literally drag these pest out kicking and scratching. I wouldn't have let it go.
