I’m in tears 😢 Found my way here after watching Demi’s new docuseries. I’ve never found a song that is so relatable and describes the relationship I had with my Dad. This is it! My Dad was an addict as well. I went most of my life being angry with him. In the beginning of 2020, he passed away. I mourn him, the life he could have had, the life he could have given me, and the relationship we never had. It’s completely different mourning a parent who wasn't there for you. It’s very complex, and I still struggle with it to this day. We are all rooting for you, Demi! And thank you for sharing this beautiful song with the world!

This song changed my life. That is kind of strange to say being as I am a 45 year old man. I usually don't listen to this kind of music. I didn't even listen to this song on purpose. See, I have a daughter, and I had not been a very good father. One day, when I went over to her mom's house to visit her, I went in her room and she was listening to this. I had to dart out and into the bathroom to wipe tears out of my eyes, because I pictured my daughter listening to this song and relating to the lyrics after I died. It was very sad to me. Songs usually don't make me weepy at all, but this one did. It was so depressing to me, that it was threatening to ruin the rest of my day, but then I realized that I was not dead yet. I didn't have to wait until heaven(not that I am going there) to make a second chance for myself. It wasn't too late. Every since that day, I have made an effort to be a better father, and me and my daughter's relationship is much better than it was. And, well, that is my little story about this song.

Sent this video to my dad and said nothing. I don’t think he’ll ever understand what he’s put my siblings and myself through though. He comes back and says he wants to change but always ends the same way. Took me years to realize it was because he’d relapse. He cares more about drugs and himself than anyone else. I hope I never end up like him.

Never knew who Demi was until the 2020 Grammy’s.... was just never in my genre of music. Now she is my inspiration. She has saved my life literally. Her music is so inspirational for the most part and allows me, at least, to be able to relate on such a deeper level. Thank you God for bringing Demi to us. I’m in tears 😢 Found my way here after watching Demi’s new docuseries. I’ve never found a song that is so relatable and describes the relationship I had with my Dad. This is it!
My Dad was an addict as well. I went most of my life being angry with him. In the beginning of 2020, he passed away. I mourn him, the life he could have had, the life he could have given me, and the relationship we never had.
It’s completely different mourning a parent who wasn't there for you. It’s very complex, and I still struggle with it to this day.
We are all rooting for you, Demi! And thank you for sharing this beautiful song with the world!

This song changed my life. That is kind of strange to say being as I am a 45 year old man. I usually don't listen to this kind of music. I didn't even listen to this song on purpose. See, I have a daughter, and I had not been a very good father. One day, when I went over to her mom's house to visit her, I went in her room and she was listening to this. I had to dart out and into the bathroom to wipe tears out of my eyes, because I pictured my daughter listening to this song and relating to the lyrics after I died. It was very sad to me. Songs usually don't make me weepy at all, but this one did. It was so depressing to me, that it was threatening to ruin the rest of my day, but then I realized that I was not dead yet. I didn't have to wait until heaven(not that I am going there) to make a second chance for myself. It wasn't too late. Every since that day, I have made an effort to be a better father, and me and my daughter's relationship is much better than it was. And, well, that is my little story about this song.
For all the dads that didn't get the chance and who will never have the opportunity to do so, hug her and tell her you love her. Thank you 💘
