The Sony FE 28mm f/2, the Sony Zeiss FE 35mm f/2.8, the Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 and the recent autofocus full frame e-mount Samyang/Rokinon FE 24mm f/2.8 AF are the only really small, light and quite affordable full frame prime autofocus e-mount lenses. They are ideal for the small and light Sony α7 series camera bodies. Very useful for travel and daily photography.
The Sony α7 series many times is loosing its advantage of size and weigh with big and heavy lenses.

Very articulate review Thank you- being a novice and beginner ,how would you suggest i become familiar with ISO, shutter speed and aperture please?

Well in short: aperture is the amount of light your lens let's in, the more light you let in, less parts of your picture will be in focus. Thats why lenses that have a wide aperture f1.4 / f1.8 create those blurred backgrounds because in portraits you only really get the face Sharp in focus. If you shoot landscape you want have less ligbt coming in, so more of the area is in focus and covered, something around f/4 or f/6 works fine, but the image will be darker as less light comes in. Shutter is the duration of which your sensor is exposed to the light coming through the lens. The longer it is open, the more stable the camera has to be. If your camera lets in light for 2 seconds and you move it around everything will be a blurry mess. If you shoot with a very short shutter duration the picture will be darker of course, but in high action environments like sports it's essential. ISO is your camera digitally lightening up your image, the Higher your ISO the more noise and less information your picture will have. Sensors see light different than the human eye, it's a very intricate thing. Rule of thumb, if you want blurred background, maximum aperture. If you want a lot in focus, something like f/4 and upwards is better. If you do photo only, adjust shutter speed on the motion of your subject and amount of light you're getting. Keep your ISO as low as possible. Change the other settings first before you rely on ISO, It changes the colors to a more orange look and you lose detail, it's a last way to fix it. But fullframe cameras are fine till at least 1600 ISO

I'm curious why your shutter speeds are so fast when capturing architecture and still objects?
1/2000s ISO800 for capturing a bike handle seems a bit high, any reason for it?

Lens question for Street/Portraits. For the same price...would you rather buy just the Sony 35mm f/2.8 FE or a combo of the 28mm f/2 and 50mm f/1.8? I will get the 85mm f/1.8 for sure.

Karla, I've got the 28/50/85 trio- I enjoy the combination. What I am contemplating is purchasing the 21mm converter or not.

It's a superb lens, which has no real flaws. I've owned it for a couple of years and I love it almost as much as my Zeiss. A real bargain amongst the expensive Sony glass.

@Phil Jones65 Fair enough fella, that's your valid take...I don't do a forensic study of my pictures, or anyone else's. Rather than pixel peep, I ask myself....Is the photo any good? Did I capture what I wanted? Have I expressed myself? It's a superb lens, to me :-)
