- The historic Bowen House was built by Nathaniel Bowen in 1896. The Bowen
family was very prosperous and owned a significant amount of land . The
carriage house behind the the main residence housed race horses. The house has been unoccupied for a long time, it has been added to the Most Endangered list with hope that someone will save it.

Wow this is a stunning mansion! It would have to be a wealthy person to take on this project, can you imagine the cost of heating and cooling it alone. They have certainly maintained all the original features of the home, hopefully it will find a new owner.

This house is stunningly breath taking. The woodwork alone is beautiful. There are few craftsmen today that can do that kind of exquisite craving. Your eye for details stands out once again. Such as the dumb waiter and floor bell ringer in the kitchen that told the servants what floor to take the food to. The architecture on the outside is grand. This house is one of the best you have done. Let's hope someone will save it . We'll worth it. Thanks for the sharing the beauty of this house. ❤️ ❤

It would make a nice B&B. It is refreshing that it hasn't been vandalized and all graffitied up with paint and nasty pictures and ugly F-words. It was beautiful inside.
My Dad side of the family most of their mansion have been torn down here in Pittsburgh. Only one now that is a French restaurant.
