It's because of the cancel culture we live in now, isn't it? Which public facing figure would want to behave more interestingly if at any point they could face a backlash for saying the wrong word or looking at a random person the wrong way?

They are boring ngl thats why I think people love Erling Haaland bc he’s so blunt

Not anymore, not as blunt as back then,i think city gave him more media training, just look how different his interview when he's at bvb and city

Because they make millions kicking a ball around... Theyre boring to keep themselves injury free and peak condition... Camera phones and Social media is also means you can get away with less these days... Harder to get caught doing something frowned upon/ you shouldn't in the past...

I do pine for footballers like Cantona, who didn't spend their entire career planning their post-football career. Because that's what it's about, isn't it? Keep your nose clean, there'll be a nice safe job as a pundit when your playing days are done.
A player's post-match interview is simply a try-out, it's them proving they can be trusted on a future TV panel!

Yeah great point. One wrong comment/action can stick with you for life. Of course, some things are unforgivable. But it would be great if society could be more forgiving. Sadly, I think it's getting less forgiving.

@@JLFootball123 Totally agree! It's like we're all put on hair-triggers by emotively-titled articles / videos. Then we overreact.
Look at Jadon Sancho. Basically sacked because, when his boss said Sancho didn't train hard enough, Sancho disagreed.
Sancho didn't swear, didn't attack his boss. Just disagreed. Media went crazy. If politely standing up for yourself is not allowed, we're in trouble.

Honestly, Gen Z is just boring in general. Too occupied with their image, no personality.

I can't believe you have less than >3K subs.
Only noticed when another comment pointed it out.
With how your channel is presented, I was expecting over 100K easily.
Having said this, with how your channel is doing, I wouldn't be surprised if you reached such feat.

We see the personalities of players through their play. I agree that money is one driver, but this is a trend that shows in many sports.

I havent watched the video yet but i think its bcause the duality of the viewers itself😂,when players became themselves like vini did people would bashed him because the "bad and arrogance attitude" or just look at pundit and viewers always judging and criticized pogba and lingard for being themselves and calling them clown for having an unique hair or having a dance
Its the viewers and pundit itself that wanted footballer to be an "1 dimensional good boy focus on the game" type of guy,for fucking sake😂

Speaking as a Madirista this is exactly why I love Real Madrid and especially why I love their B team and Laliga for me Real Madrid have the most creative and technical players eg Vini Arda Guler Rodrygo Brahim Diaz etc not to mention with Mbappe coming this summer and I especially love Real Madrids B team because they're under less pressure usually to win games because it's assumed they'll win it so they can afford to be a little bit more flashy and play with more flair I agree with your take but it depends on the league you're watching if you're talking about premier league absolutely I agree with you outside of maybe Liverpool that's why I don't really watch premier league because the English style of football tends to be more clinical and physical and it's just not as creative or entertaining as Laliga so it really just depends on what you're into
