Really slick video and I do respect his business acumen. However, as a Chelsea fan I think a lot of the buys of super young players weren't the right balance. We needed key positions filled with proven players to move back up the table quickly, in addition to buying promising youngsters.
Not just that. Take Baidashile, Jackson, ugochukwu, Carney also Palmer as a case study, I can mention more. 3 seasons from now, these 5 players would cost you close to 600 million. Say Jackson for 80-120m, Baidashile, Carney and ugochukwu for 60-80m, Palmer for about 80-100m. That's aside Madueke, Moriera, Andrey Santos, Paez, Gusto, Petrovic, Disasi, Mudryk, etc.... so, he's saving Chelsea some real cash... The team grows and blends together to become a formidable force in a few years time where he can just add one or 2 upgrades to fully fortify the team.
yea as a chelsea fan tbh if u only invest the future but the present fail miserably, best young talent will be old mid players and the new youngster wont come to a team that constantly in 12th. If they have one experience top player in both midfield and forward as well then it is genius, now we are just a mid table team with young talented players. Like Jose Mourinho said there are different between talented player and top player, now we are full of talented player with no one guide them to be the top on the field.
I think managing an American sports franchise is much easier compared to managing an English football club. This is due to the fact that despite all the glamours and the viewership football is still the least regulated sport on the planet. I mean look at FFP it has done nothing to stop the likes of PSG, City, Chelsea and other rich clubs to hoard all the talents and establishing feeder clubs that in turn making the sport more and more imperialistic. I’m not even surprised that in the near future all the clubs in the World will be owned by one or two consortiums. Now compare that to an American sport system where there’s salary cap and draft system this looks very rigid but there’s no relegation so it’s a safe environment. Boehly is failing to understand this, yes in football you can get away spending 1 billion pounds for creating an army of players and establishing network of feeder clubs but if you’re performing terribly there’s a bigger risk of relegation as well as reputation risk.
Not all sports in North America are the same and fyi in American football and baseball the owners are able to spend much more then you think, essentially the cap space is a myth. I know personally being a Dodger and Rams fan since both were notoriously criticized for being over the cap space when they both won their respective league titles. And Boehly being a owner of the Dodgers doesn’t say much since the dodgers are owned by many people. It’s funny when American sports fans think they know how the Premier league works but it’s equally ludicrous when premier league fans think they know how American sports work.

You can't seriously sit here and claim that significantly over-paying for numerous key players on an 8 year long deals is a genius move, forget the stupid loop hole "exploit". Majority of transfers in the prem don't work out and this man is betting on all of them to work lmao, 8 years is a LONG time in sport. These contracts were not genius, every club knew about it, they just weren't stupid enough to abuse it knowing how quickly shit will go south for them on a bad bet (look at Barcelona lmao). YOU CAN'T SPEND A BILLION DOLLARS AND BE WORSE, that's banter level managing my dude
I literally watched more than half the video before i realised your channel is a relatively smaller one great work dude you definitely deserve a bigger audience
Love the video!!! As a Chelsea fan myself, I got very very worried about the money spent in the transfer windows and how the club was doing since he bought us but you hav3 opened my eyes to allot of behind the scenes that, ill admit, I didn't do my do diligence. So I thank you!! I truly hope that this may be the start of a great Era for The Blues⚽️💙
The level of ridicule and criticism that has been directed in the media about Chelsea is unbelievable. You want to be looking at the quality of the transfer of the players he’s signed to be integrated into the squad for the next number of seasons. The future is bright my friend you’ve only got to look at the stats that we are putting together with the new squad and the fact that we have a number of injuries don’t help. Once we start finishing the chances we are creating the new era with a team that will be together for years will be the dominant club and all the doubters will be silent. The owners are incredibly successful at making a successful club and the systems that they are using are the result. Believe in the process they will deliver.
Because you vision and it'll be difficult to analyse the dealings. If Chelsea did not spend the money now, they'll eventually spend more in the nearest future. Look at those young talents bought with so called 1 billion, loaned out, in a couple of years they'll worth triple of the iinvestments without playing a game for Chelsea. And some of them would make the first team squad in the nearest future. Take it or leave it, Chelsea are doing just fine in their transfer dealings. GET IT RIGHT... Stop playing to the gallery.
That's your opinion... which is good! However... He is clueless and knows nothing. He has trusted the wrong people to manage a club whose philosophy was once project win. You can't win things with kids. So the fact he is pushing this model and this moneyball isk idea is a dead tactic. He should have stuck to baseball and basketball. Wish we didnt have him.
Awesome video man, great perspective. As an American Premier league fan myself, it felt a little weird all the hate the guy was getting. Guy’s ambitious and seems to really care about the competitive aspect of the club. More than can be said about some owners
I thought the opening to this video was going to say "Since taking over as owner of Chelsea in 2022, Todd Boehly has gone from a relatively unknown billionaire to a well known millionaire".
The assumption that Boehly was an unknown billionaire “ is ludicrous. The guy has business interests in multiple countries. Just because these individuals have not heard of the guy literally means nothing. A little research into his businesses would have put that assumption to bed. The guy is ambitious and only accepts winning. Let’s be honest the UK media is basically tabloid journalism.
When he first turned up he suggested an all star game would be a great idea. It showed his total lack of knowledge about football. He has shipped out virtually every experienced player and replaced them with a squad of maybe's. We could go down.
you have a great commentary voice, the editing/graphics are excellent, and it's clear you did your research. Instant sub, looking forward to seeing you pop up in my recommended again
Drawing the conclusion that he is a genius for not listening to Tuchel (He didn't want Neymar in his squad) is a little far fetched. Tuchel wanted to work with that squad - replacing him was more a like a signal of strength. Also in my opinion Chelsea never was a successful club anyway. They won the champions league by luck in Munich back then. Under Tuchel they were the better team in the final against City where everybody still thought Pep can't win the CL without the little untidy Argentinian guy. That's why the Chelsea fans cheered for Abrahmovic when he killed football as we knew it before with his money. All they wanted is finally some success. And when they final got some success that looked like it could last for a while, Boehly came along and killed the whole thing in an instant to make it his baby.
Not everyone will share you points mate, but everyone have their own opinions also. So agree to disagree about that is fair enough. By the way, your video is very well produced mate. Looking forward to the next video from you in the future.
i have the exact same thoughts as you, although I did hear from chelsea fans that go to the stadium every week (was also there for the villa game) that the overall fan experience has deteriorated (for example, he cut down subsidies for away buses.) These decisions baffle me. As for the dressing room visits - Eghbali is doing them now. Time will tell.
You lost me at Boehly receiving unfair criticism for sacking Tuchel. In fact, I don’t think he was criticized enough. He took out a manager who won us a UCL, super cup, club World Cup and got us a 3rd place EPL finish and replaced him with a mess of a situation (won’t even bother to name the managers). Also, you saying there were cracks is laughable. Yes, teams struggle throughout seasons and make adjustments year over year. Comparing our top 4 placing, UCL winning, Madrid beating (almost twice) form to this relegation battle we’re in is disingenuous at best, clueless at worst.
Finally, someone with a lot of sense when it comes to Boehly and the new ownership. I like the direction my club is heading. It's what i've been calling for in the past 2 years. We needed footballing people to make these decisions, not a businesswoman calling all the shots with her joke of a head scout. These new directors have scouted so much more brilliantly. We needed Boehly to come and bring us into the new era of football where u have to have a proper structure and club philosophy to catch up to Man City who are brilliant at it. Time will tell but right now, i have a lot of belief in what the club is building
To be honest I just truly see this as a long term plan that who knows how it will go but every team needs a few experienced players before you let the young players run the show
Great channel and subbed! Also, Boehly is doing exactly what he said he wpuld and it is a sound strategy, no memory in football punditry and the leading pundits are all anti-Chelsea
Really well made video, with some interesting insight. It's a shame you didn't mention the summer transfer window just gone as I think that one would be interesting to interpret.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it :) Left out this summer window as I wanted to look at his first year in charge. Feel judgement on the most recent window will have to come in a couple months time. Still early days. Let's see what happens 🍿
Except where he started as owner he's expected to do well and he didn't, I don't think he is getting critised because chealse where big spenders before he bought the club and he is also spending much now. But he is critisised because he is spending and not having a vision. I mean if city spend what they have and end up being 8th or 10th they would be in some big problems as well. The only reason they get away with it is because they do very well. Boehly knows he's new to the game but decides to be interim manager. How is that a good choice, I also just hear a lot of defending about how the club where in poor form when he bought it. But lets be real winning the CL just before can't mean they where in that bad of a shape as you argue. Lastly you say that the players he bought where smart since he doesn't pay the full price they could once become. For some players this might be true but just look at the costs of some players he paid for. He overpaid massively. I think he just has enough money and is trying to buy up the market and it is kind of failing right now. He might have some good years but who wouldn't with that money spend ?
This is really a smart take and I hate it because as a Spurs fan...the implications are that Chelsea will emerge from this larval stage as a dominant force.
1. Long term contracts are good for "managing money" but they are not good for keeping footballers performing year on year. Players have nothing to play for. 2. Buying young players is what got Southamption and Leeds relegated, you need a mixed squad of youth and experience. This is well proven. 3. Tuchel was a good coach and should have been backed, not sacked. ...Todd Boehly is a disaster.
A genius of destruction. This is not about LA Lakers or whatever Dodges - this is PL football. There is no way to raise the club with players of average quality, whatever ages they are. Boehly's only success could be if we avoid relegation. Poor us...
The arrogance of you European thinking this brilliant businessman don’t know what he’s doing when it comes to running a smaller team. Yes the LA Dodgers are worth more than Chelsea. European football have almost no regulation beside ffp, this is the perfect playground for someone like Boehly.
Todd Boehley is inexperienced and don’t know enough about football. His tunnel vision transfer policy of buying only young player and over paying for them is naive. If you know anything about football u would know that statistically half of all transfer isn’t successful and this failure rate is even high among younger who isn’t fully developed. He is gambling on those young players to eventually develop into world class player which more than half will likely won’t. He also for wat ever reason decided against buying striker which no one could understand why.
the only thing you praised was him stepping in on transers in a scario where he was orced to. hes done 10x more wrong than right. i agree with the board removals that is fair enough. the man doesnt help himself with his comments on multiple occasions so hes brought this on himself entirely. those long contracts arnt smart if eveyr signing takes one. not safe for the player or club. look at united the best example of how bad dead wood can stink up your club. chelsea is on hte same path as that now.
Yeah sorry, this isnt changing my mind at all. Its not brave and noble to do the transfers yourself when the only reason you're in that position is due to your own imcompetence and lack of planning. And on that note getting rid of Marina is the biggest mistake they made out of all. And no, I don't believe for a second that anyone would have cared if she had stayed. Maybe the liberal media would've made a fuss but in the football world abramovich and marina were loved and respected. If they had done their research they would know this. Keeping Marina on would have been seen as the obvious and smart choice since as you pointed out, she basically ran the club for Roman during that whole period of so much success. Also, the 7 year deals is not some clever loophole. I watched my chicago blackhawks suffer for many years more than necessary due to the inability to offload players. If these players dont work out and they're on high wages, and the players dont want to move on, chelsea will be restricted on their new signings for many years. They seem to think that none of this matters because all the players are going to magically increase in value and be sold off for profit. Maybe they will.. or maybe they won't. if it was that easy every club would do it.
I believe Boelhy and Co have a clear idea of where they want to take the club it's not about instant success 'but building a club for the future at the moment I think we have a good foundation with some of the best young talent in the market and a great coach we'll see who has the last laugh
I'm a Chelsea fan,all the way from a small hut in Africa, i saw that Chelsea needed Joao Felix, pulisic and maddison, I wonder how they expect this team to score goals..

was totally with you in your last two videos, they're great and clearly well researched, taking into account most of the aspects that affect each situations). With this one though, it seems like there is a lot you're overlooking. For example - why was potter destined to fail at chelsea? you say that he was and then don't explain why? This might be true, but needs to be explained (it would maybe make the appointment of poch more compelling?). also, why is buying promising young players guaranteed to work out? they might fall off or already have hit their peak, or become complacent due to the long contracts handed out. hopefully this comes across as constructive criticism. I like what you have done so far and particularly enjoyed the gambling video. Keep it up!
All those young players signed on long contracts are too secure and now more difficult to motivate. Senior members of the dressing room who won trophies have departed. There’s going to be malaise around Chelsea for a very long time.

Wow, thank you so much. I really appreciate it :)
Thank you so much 😊
Because you vision and it'll be difficult to analyse the dealings.
😂😂😂
That's your opinion... which is good! However... He is clueless and knows nothing. He has trusted the wrong people to manage a club whose philosophy was once project win. You can't win things with kids. So the fact he is pushing this model and this moneyball isk idea is a dead tactic. He should have stuck to baseball and basketball. Wish we didnt have him.
Here at the end of the season this comment sounds soo reactionary
@@haangomba8557 what has he won? 🤣🤣 exactly back in your box
@@mattifootballstandardI have a good feeling this season with Enzo Maresca. I think we will finally win a trophy this season.
This aged well.
@@Kivhtas have they won a trophy?! No so shush!
You forget to mention the many injuries that Chelsea got through out the season
Awesome video man, great perspective. As an American Premier league fan myself, it felt a little weird all the hate the guy was getting. Guy’s ambitious and seems to really care about the competitive aspect of the club. More than can be said about some owners
I thought the opening to this video was going to say "Since taking over as owner of Chelsea in 2022, Todd Boehly has gone from a relatively unknown billionaire to a well known millionaire".
For an account with 21 subs, this is very well made keep it up fr
Thank you so much 😊
Good vid. We need more history about Football club owners. Keep it coming.
How do you only have 1,000 subscribers, this video is phenomenal. Its one of the most in-depth videos I've watched.
Thank you so much, that means a lot :)
Quality video! Watched your others ones and the content is top tier! You will do well. Keep up the good work!👏🏻
Thank you so, so much
U know there is an old man saying: "If ur yesterday is better, that means u not good enough right now"
Sheikh Mansour did this earlier and also had mistakes like robinho. not a chelsea fan but i see boehly's vision
Just come across this video, really well put together. Great work. Look forward to more vids from you. Will check out your other 2 vids
When he first turned up he suggested an all star game would be a great idea. It showed his total lack of knowledge about football. He has shipped out virtually every experienced player and replaced them with a squad of maybe's. We could go down.
This is a crazy edit man, very talented! How long have you been editing for?
Thank you so much. 18 months. Still got lots to learn :)
As a die hard Chelsea fan I will say Tedd is killng Chelsea football club
Hands down one of the best videos i've seen on the topic 👏
Keep up the good work
When Chelsea are back on top Uncle Tod will look like a genius.
Rome was not built in a day
you have a great commentary voice, the editing/graphics are excellent, and it's clear you did your research. Instant sub, looking forward to seeing you pop up in my recommended again
Thank you so much. That means so much to me. Working on the next vid :)
Frank Lampard is also a close friend of Roman Abramovich
Boyy goosebumps 🙏🏾 love this Jet leonard guy i can tell he reads a lot. Nice vids keep it up 👍🏾

Jesus man I thought you had like 100k subs… well good job man, keep it up! If all this is your work, great future is ahead!
Not everyone will share you points mate, but everyone have their own opinions also. So agree to disagree about that is fair enough. By the way, your video is very well produced mate. Looking forward to the next video from you in the future.
Thank you so, so much. That means a lot!
Has this fella seen where Chelsea are in the league. This man is delusional 😂😂😂
i have the exact same thoughts as you, although I did hear from chelsea fans that go to the stadium every week (was also there for the villa game) that the overall fan experience has deteriorated (for example, he cut down subsidies for away buses.) These decisions baffle me. As for the dressing room
visits - Eghbali is doing them now. Time will tell.
Great video! And I hope you're right and Boehly turns the club around
Great job man.
This is very informative content.
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it
You lost me at Boehly receiving unfair criticism for sacking Tuchel.
You like being 13th and losing to Brentford at home all the time?
195 subs? I see this channel growing quickly with this sort of quality from the beginning. great video. Definitely subbing.
Wow :) Thank you so much
To be honest I just truly see this as a long term plan that who knows how it will go but every team needs a few experienced players before you let the young players run the show
Great channel and subbed!
Very cool and intuitive perspective.
Although I’m a Manchester United fan, I enjoyed it…
I subscribed, good luck with your channel man!
Thank you! I really appreciate it
This is really a smart take and I hate it because as a Spurs fan...the implications are that Chelsea will emerge from this larval stage as a dominant force.
Bro great job.....i am surprised that your channel is not a big one... surely it will be soon 🤞
Thank you so much. Hopefully one day
As a chelsea I totally back todd Boehly and believe fans should be patient and trust the process, also great video exicted to see more
Absolutely agree!
You've single handedly restored my faith in a club I've loved for over a decade. And earned yourself another subscriber. COYB!!!
😂 thank you so much
Todd Boehley is inexperienced and don’t know enough about football.
"Which more than half will likely won't" bro you're God or what 😂
@@onamiofficial If look at the stats and watch football for more than a decade u will know.
the only thing you praised was him stepping in on transers in a scario where he was orced to. hes done 10x more wrong than right. i agree with the board removals that is fair enough. the man doesnt help himself with his comments on multiple occasions so hes brought this on himself entirely. those long contracts arnt smart if eveyr signing takes one. not safe for the player or club. look at united the best example of how bad dead wood can stink up your club. chelsea is on hte same path as that now.
contentious as his relatively short reign may be, it's quite refreshing to see a mature businessman doing just that, business.
Amazing hearing "Maryland" pounced that way lol
Great vid man. So refreshing to finally see an objective analysis on Boelhy and his job so far, looking forward to watch your next videos !
:) Thank you so much. Really appreciate the support. Working on the new vid right now...
Maybe they will.. or maybe they won't. if it was that easy every club would do it.
i really liked tgis video, very nice and professional ! Good luck with your channel and i’m looking forward for your next videos ☺️
500 subscribers is disrespectful keep it up this was amazing
Wow, what a great video. With the quality, is not going too long to achieve hundreds of thousands subscribers
Thank you so, so much
Yes the man is a very clever at being a joke you mean £1bn spent 4 wins😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
3:27 I half expected to see him in the team photo 😂
I believe Boelhy and Co have a clear idea of where they want to take the club it's not about instant success 'but building a club for the future at the moment I think we have a good foundation with some of the best young talent in the market and a great coach we'll see who has the last laugh
BOEHLY IS NOT THE PROBLEM
Amazing work here Jetty boi!
I'm a Chelsea fan,all the way from a small hut in Africa, i saw that Chelsea needed Joao Felix, pulisic and maddison, I wonder how they expect this team to score goals..
This is exceptionally high quality. Thank you for shedding a light to our owner! Subbed and Liked!
Thank you so much :)
what is blud baffling about 💀
hey i'm your 500th subs :D great vids man keep it up!
Thank you so much 😊
Great video, one piece of feedback would be to make your voice somehow more clearer? It was a bit hard to hear you over the background music.
Thanks for the advice :)
@@JLFootball123Todd Boehly's genius football mind came to the fore when he paid 80 million for mudryk, 105 million for Enzo and 115 million for caicedo 😂
First off... I am so happy I stumbled upon your video and channel! This is the kind of deep analysis that doesn't happen enough in sports. Fans, "experts", and especially pundits are way too quick to write people off. Especially people that are a bit contrarian like Todd Boehly. Keep up the awesome work Jett!
Thank you so much. I appreciate you taking the time to say that. I wish people weren't so quick to judge in football but I guess when your actions are so public, it comes with the territory
Great video man, echoed my views as a fan so far.
was totally with you in your last two videos, they're great and clearly well researched, taking into account most of the aspects that affect each situations).
Keep it up!
FYI atletico madrid already took advantage of amortisation prior to chelsea, for instance felix had like a 6 year deal... just throwing that in there.
How on earth do you not have more subscribers? Fantastic quality video!
Thank you so much. Massively appreciate it
All those young players signed on long contracts are too secure and now more difficult to motivate. Senior members of the dressing room who won trophies have departed. There’s going to be malaise around Chelsea for a very long time.
Great video! Thanks 👍😀
Class video lad keep them coming !
Thank you so much. Will do!
As a Chelsea fan I needed this reassurance
great content hope you get more subs soon.
