Joseph Haydn
Violin Concerto No 4 in G major, Hob VIIa:4
Arranged for Cello
1 Allegro moderato
2 Adagio
3 Finale. Allegro
Mischa Maisky, cello & conductor
Wiener Symphoniker - เพลง
Maisky is one of my cello heroes. That sound is nothing short of sublime.
I am totally obsessed with this legendary cellist. He makes these pieces look so easy to play, and then there’s me... I would love to meet him one day, but it’s a bit of a shit because of corona
Classical Vault 1 6:23 Cadenza by Thomas Zehetmair arr for Violoncello by Mischka Maisky. It's equally beautiful on the Cello as it is on the Violin but with a true Tenor Voice being an Octave Below the Violin's Soprano Voice.
I love Maisky!
It was so great
It is still so great
Listen to this if you want to know how to play a trill correctly
I really love this piece especially with the cello ver.
My favorite♥
In his hands this is a really fine cello concerto. Maisky is a beautiful musician. Eric Shumsky
Haydn & Mozart are beyond description how beautiful and similar some of their music sounds. Enjoy both composers more than words could ever express!!👍😊
6:23 Thomas Zehetmair 1st movment Cadenza arr for Violoncello by Mischka Maisky.
13:31 2'nd Movement Thomas Zehetmair Cadenza played on Cello.
I really prefer the arrangement for cello over the original violin version... Cello generally sounds much nicer to me.. I might be biased though as my husband is a cellist..
Where's the Solo Cello part?
As an ex-violinist, I do agree that a lot of violin pieces sound much better on cello :)
Increíble
Misha Maisky, "violin" concerto.
I never knew Maisky had turned to the violin ... a king size one, obviously ...

I can't even find the sheet music for the Solo Cello part (Alternative to Solo Violin)
I think it's a bit easier on the 5 string Cello w/ a High E String
Who wrote the cadenza in the first movement? I think I played this version of the cadenza on the violin, but now I can't find out who wrote it.
Haydn wrote it
It‘s Thomas Zehetmair
@@EmilSpiess It's now the Maisky Zehetmair Cadenza aka Thomas Zehetmair Cadenza arranged for Cello.
好
我也觉得很好!
Es la primera vez en 15 años que puedo escuchar la música qe me gusta, sin esta aferrado a Facebook
Can I use this on my videos as background music?
its on the public domain anyone can use it

Where can I find the arranged score of this brilliant masterpiece?
Dominika Imreh imslp
You can find it in the violin grade 8 exam book
I think he's talking about the cello version... It's kind of annoying to read and play an octave down all the time
@@twinicebear775 He's sightreading the solo violin part playing an octave lower for the cello version.
@@twinicebear775 Where's the Cello version of the solo part?
Kennt jemand das Jahr von Aufgenommen?
This suggests 1988: www.1src.com/video/t_kR9jsD5beDQ
He would have been about 40 in 1988, so it looks right too.
What do you think, Marco?
Lesley Vivien
He really is one of the most remarkable cellist of the twentieth century.
Lesley Vivien
by the quality of the video 40 years are impossible. 30 are already unbelieveable
Why is it billed as a violin concerto when it is a cello concerto?
Because it's actually composed for violin, but Maisky plays a cello arranged version
yes 1 octave below
There's a clue in the words "Arranged for Cello"! :)
Thank you. I didn’t know.
@@tuliobabikian Where's the Sheet music for the solo cello part or do you have to play the Solo violin part down an octave on the cello?
Slightly out of tune sometimes, but so beautiful
Hes purposefully doing so
The cello in the hands of someone who sucks just honestly like someone's farting. But this - this sounds better!
you are fucken rude.
ur ignoratn
Gregory and Barry Robinson you guys are fuckin rude!!!!!!!!
@@jrizzyg696 Hold on the Cadenzas being played are the Thomas Zehetmair Cadenzas arranged for Violoncello by Mischka Maisky.
I prefer this honest style to the contrived, precise sound all the kids have these days. Midnight oil doesn't provide enjoyable listening imho.
