Shaun Martin’s expression and body language perfectly mimic the solo he was playing at 49:00. I was pulled into that moment. It resonated with me. Almost seemed like he was pleading. I love it.

The studio solo was good, but he didn't have room to expand it well, he was limited, but still killer tho! THIS one however, since it wasn't a studio recording, he took his time and really delivered.

    Song 1: Strawman
Strawman was the first song that the band Snark Puppy played live. It was packed with instruments that sounded futuristic and had no singing at all. The song also featured fast-paced loops with rich, thick guitar playing over them; the sound design was reminiscent of a video game's racing or a car chase. The guitar and trumpets intensified in volume as the song ended, giving it a victorious conclusion.
The show began with an incredible intro. Snark Punny performed their trademark fusion, jazz, and funk music. You cannot help but groove to the song's infectious and catchy rhythm. Jazz, funk, and fusion blended together nicely to create a performance that was both distinctive and thrilling. The song sounded even better because of the band's tight and upbeat performance. I'll definitely keep this on my playlist.
    Song 2: Grown Folks
The song opens with a funky, heavy guitar lead. It does not take long for the trumpets to enter and start playing a mysterious or cunning beat that makes me think of the pink Panther song. Shortly after the drum player plays, coincide with the trumpet players to come full circle, and continue the groovy track. The trumpets finally transition into an amazing solo after playing to one another as though they were having a conversation.
The instrumental song "Grown Folks" was groovy and incredibly upbeat. You're captivated by its distinct, nearly unearthly rhythm throughout the entire song. I have never heard anything like the artist's musicianship and raw talent. The melodies and solos throughout this tune take on a completely different feel thanks to their performances. All things considered, it's a happy, uplifting tune that makes you sensational and enthusiastic.
    Song 3: Semente
The song opens with a lovely flute melody, which is supported by triumphant trumpet tones. The G major chord, in particular, sticks out and enhances the song by adding a cheery, bright tone. "Semente," which has been played before, is still an instrumental track since it doesn't feature a vocalist. But the track comes to an end when all the trumpets are played over one another, creating a booming impact.
As mentioned in the earlier paragraph, the song has a rich harmonic progression with multiple chords performed throughout, the most prominent of which being the G major chord. These chords work together to produce a lovely and melodic background for the song's instruments. It enhances the overall musical arrangement's depth and complexity. This song stood out from the rest of the concert due to the chord progression.
    Song 4: Tarova
Although this concert didn’t have any vocals, this was the first time in the concert Snark puppy used a microphone, the drum player used the microphone and blew into it to create a unique sound. You can also hear other instruments like electric guitar, bass, guitar, drums, keyboards, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion. There were also a ton of solos from saxophone to the guitar to the keyboard. The song ended in an uplifting and smooth way.
The musicianship and passion were fantastic! I couldn't stop nodding along with the catchy and funky song's opening melody. Following that, the horn section entered, releasing further powerful tunes. Each member of the band showcases their amazing skills as they take turns playing solos. It is an authentic jazz fusion masterpiece!
    Song 5: Outlier
The guitar solo that opens the song is captivating and draws you in right away. You can hear the various combinations of genres, including jazz, funk, and fusion; these components come together to produce a singular and thrilling listening experience. The band builds to a dramatic and intense finish, raising the intensity throughout the song. You are left feeling satisfied and in amazement when all the instruments come together in one last burst.
Snarky Puppy's song "Outlier" is incredibly fascinating and exciting. A great listening experience is created by the melodies, tight rhythm section, and outstanding solos. The song's energy and inventiveness are very remarkable. The group is skilled at taking you on a captivating musical journey from beginning to end.
    Song 6: Thing of gold
The band keeps adding fusion, jazz, and funk components to create a distinct sound. The song "Tarova" had a similar instrument that sounds nearly like speech, which gave the entire song a futuristic feel. You can see the triangle being played in the concert video; this triangle stood for you and the trumpets creating a starry or mystical appearance. The conclusion is exciting; all the instruments stopped, and the voice box's added use took it to a whole new level, giving the impression that we are in a science fiction setting.
Of all the songs played at the performance thus far, this was in my top three. I always find myself drawn to songs that use the voice box since it's such a cool and distinctive sound that's not commonly heard. When Snarky Puppy crafts a masterpiece with it, you know the song is good. I also admired the use of the triangle instrument; it's not one heard too often and, to some, may seem childish and disregarded, but the delivery from the artist is just pure impressiveness. Without a doubt, one of my current favorites is this song.
    Song 7: White Cap
Snarky Puppy uses a larger variety of instruments to produce their characteristic sounds in "Whitecap." The band creates an appealing and dynamic sound by combining keyboards, guitars, bass, drums, horns, and other instruments. Throughout the song, the trumpet's chords could change. But as the primary instrument heard in the song, the trumpet adds to the overall harmonic framework. A seamless musical experience is produced by the interactions between the trumpets' melody and the other instruments.
This was the first song that I wasn't instantly drawn to. Admittedly, this performance fell short of Snarky Puppy's earlier ones. The more I listened to the song, the more I liked it, even if this track's trumpet work was far better than earlier ones. Despite this, the song had an amazing fusion of all the instruments that were used to produce a jazz and funk performance. The amount of build-up tension and excitement at the finale was undoubtedly the greatest, and it was on par with the band's other classics from the show.
    Song 8: What About Me?
The song opens with powerful guitar lines that are matched in intensity by the trumpets. The foundation for the other instruments to build on was set up by combining trumpet and guitar. The song gains even more depth from the background drumming, which isn't as strong as the guitar. I adore how the trumpet players perform the song with a chase effect by moving from low to high notes. Subsequently, the sound completely changes, transitioning to a solo keyboard piece with sounds like frogs or alien noises. The melody is then expertly brought in by this solo. The song to a tremendous ending.
This song was incredible, a perfect representation of a journey straight out of a textbook. I felt as though I was racing through a video game from the very beginning, with the trumpet and guitar launching the song with an incredible melody that would make your head spin. Then comes the incredible solo performance by Dallas, Texas's Shawn Marten, whose sheer talent is unmatched and very possibly the best of the entire concert-especially when combined with the drum line. The tune is perfectly concluded when the solo gives way to the last melody. I just didn’t want it to end, 10/10.
    Song 9: Shofukan
Light guitar lines and contrasting trumpets give the song a Saharan feel from the outset. The intensity then increases as the pace decreases, going from a guitar solo to a trumpet solo that resembles a butterfly soaring freely amid the trees. I bob my head in response to the music of the guitar, which returns me to reality. Singing for them, the music leans in close to the audience. The horns take center stage in the astounding finale, which features a background cut to highlight the trumpets' sound.
I suppose they really did save the best for last. The contrast between the trumpet and guitar parts in the song was lovely. The band is amazing. The solo was comparable to that of the song "What About Me?" as well. Justin Statant, the trumpet player, was tested to the brink, and it paid off. The grandeur of the natural world gave me chills. Everything about it, even the smallest detail, was flawless. I had the incredible impression that I was at the event in person because to the enthusiastic singing from the audience and some of the band members on stage. I would strongly suggest this as your music choice if you were going to listen to any of these tracks. This song perfectly captures the essence of Snarky Puppy as a musical group: incredible.

Can someone please tell me why they play a different groove at 45:25 in Thing of Gold? I have never heard them play this as it is not the same the play in any of their other shows and the album record version. Its incredible, but to date I have only found 4 shows from the past 10 years with this groove instead of the original one.

Well, S.P. is a collective... there are 3 drummers, 3 guitarists, 3 percussionists, multiple keyboards etc.... most of them have other gigs too so its unlikely to see the same lineup twice. They all sign on for say 6 weeks at a time yet the band tours nearly all year round. There are probably 25-30 people that could say they are part of the collective. Sput is still in the band... he also co-leads "Ghost Note" with Nate Werth (who also have videos on my channel... that said, Larnell sat in for Sput on one of THEIR gigs documented on my page too lol).
I have seen S.P. live many times and I have still not seen Bill Laurance!
