Head speed pro legend is the perfect alternative to the RF01 Pro. I agree that people tend to overlook aero’s and extremes because so many reviews focus on great rally rackets but actually when you’re playing tournaments most of them don’t help you win. Most people need a spin friendly, decent power racket to enjoy playing matches. Not so much a gravity pro that’ll fatigue them- albeit a great racket. Great video!
My 12yr old daughter is playing the extreme pro with the matcha toro toro/enso pro hybrid at 46/48 and loves it over her pure aero, seems to get better control with the same power
My top 2 as well, I used the Extreme Tour then Pro and switched to the Speed Pro Legend as I’d used Speed Pros most of my adult playing life and just missed that comfort. That dense pattern with the 100sq head as you mentioned is just so much feel and control with unmatched comfort imo👌
I currently play with the pro staff v13 and like many, I made the mistake of comparing the RF01 PRO to the pro staff. There is no comparison. The pro staff is a precision scalpel, whereas the RF01 PRO has little to no control. The two are completely different racquets. One is a control-oriented stick (pro staff) and the other, a power stick (RF01 PRO). My disappointment is that Federer's name is on the RF01 PRO. This is a poor follow-up to the pro staff line. I actually find it very hard to believe that Federer would have played with this racquet if he was still on tour (despite him saying that he would, to market this racquet)
Great review! What strings do you prefer on Extreme and Speed racquets? I’m a big fan of O Toro x Caviar in my Extreme MP coz it brings out stacks of spin and good control. Cheers
Thank god this is all personal preference. Saying the RF 01 Pro is the "Bust of the Year" is criminal - suits a very specific player-style, and clearly that's not you.
There is a niche for the 01 pro. When I tried it I couldn't add or defend pace very well but I could place shots when attacking and it felt amazing. For a federer style it's good because he doesn't play defensive tennis. But 98% of the tennis population is worse with it than an Ezone or something and you don't want to be giving up on defensive points. Its a defendable take. Raquets and runners is a good reviewer but he's very partial towards feel.
Your point at 7:25 about advanced players being snobby about their control frames is too true! I was guilty of it too. But too many top pros now play power frames to deny that this egotism's day has passed. May it rest in peace...
Yes, playstyle and grip affect which you'll prefer, a control or power frame. And, yes, his western grip begs a power frame. But he was more talking about the way advanced players tend to covet control frames like the PT57A while disrespecting power frames as, shall we say, a crutch for the less gifted.
As a fellow Head fan boy, I totally agree with your list! And I agree that the RF01 Pro sucks! But then again, tennis is so subjective and personal that one man's trash is another man's treasure
None of the higher level players around me liked the RF01. Weirdly a few less advanced players and even beginners claimed that it was the best thing ever 😂 I have played with tons of racquets and am a huge Roger fan. Personally I find it mediocre.
The whole RF01 Pro.. it was designed for Fed to use. There is no reason to disbelieve this, because the non-pro is for the rec players with all the “usable” specs and Wilson /Federer have shown they are willing to do this a la RF97 / PS97 (as opposed to Head and up until recently Babolat). I would say that rather than the RF01 Pro being “bad”, it’s that it is “unsuitable” for most pro players. This can be demonstrated by the absolute absence of the RF97 used by pro players/challengers/futures.. I mean what do you expect, to pick up a racquet tailor made for a 1HBH, and eastern forehand with extreme racquet lag and like it?? lol
I love to test rackets and rf01 pro is one i have not. I have a pro staff v14 so maybe you can tell me the difference and save me some time. I also have my extreme pros, and still trying to nail down this racket. Biggest issue for me is trusting it when swinging out. It has caught me off guard a lot lately with hitting into the net and or long. My pro staff is less powerful, less spin (sorta) ? but way more consistent, but again i can play better defense with he extreme, serve bigger and hit bigger shots when on i need them, but again, i cant control them as well. So I added a leather grip and bumped the tension to 50 lynx tour 1.25. Now adjusting to see if that helps.orta

Thank you!
I wanna see more busts of the year! Maybe a top 5 as well. Just so to know which sticks to avoid and why.
Thanks for this video👍

i agree.
Do you think the HEAD Extreme Pro would work well for someone with a one handed backhand?
absolutely. Musetti uses one (boom PJ)
@@chadallen3211 it’s one of the best racquets I’ve used with my ohb…and slices are sensational👌
dailying a speed pro right now as a rec player. its great, althought the sweet spot is def harder to hit than the mp
yes more power with mp too

My toroline combo i like and restring sync.
Got back into tennis this year! Using a Head speed MP legend with lynx tour.
Good for you! goodluck!!
Speed pro legend and extreme pro and Wilson Blade pro v9 18x20, Pure Strike 100 16x20, Dunlop Cx 400 Tour , FX 500 Tour from 2023

Rackets and Runners says the Wilson RF 01 is racket of the year 😂

clearly yes.

Depends on his 5 Picks. He is not the Player who likes pure Control Rackets. No Blade, no Gravity, Percept,
Your point at 7:25 about advanced players being snobby about their control frames is too true! I was guilty of it too. But too many top pros now play power frames to deny that this egotism's day has passed. May it rest in peace...
It depends largely on playing style too. From his videos we can see his forehead is quite spiny so racquets like the Extreme make sense.

yesss! drives me nuts!!
The Irony? You need mondo control to bang a power frame. Bang on, MP!

Ya.... I am not sure how to say it... the better you play the less you like it maybe haha???

RF01 Pro overrated but def pretty. I’d take MP skills over any of the reviewers out there FYI
People want to LOVE this racquet... maybe some do ...but its just not that good lolol.
