Hey Spencer! Let's first start with a thank you: thank you for not only your review, but for sharing your honest, thorough feedback. It's important for companies, from start ups like us to industry titans, to take in as much feedback as possible to make what they do even better. We just wanted to take a moment to clarify some points in your review. Starting with blurry edges: our team poured a lot of time and effort behind the scenes into figuring out why a subset of our user base were having continuous issues despite adjusting their glasses and swapping out the nose pads. It all came down to variation in IPD. It's something our team is acutely aware of and were working on it. There may have been miscommunication in regard to Beam and it's current status. Beam is not being discontinued as it provides a lot of value to gamers and console users, plus developers, however we will shift more development and marketing resources to its successor once it reaches market. We appreciate you for highlighting the areas that need improvement while also shouting out the aspects that you enjoyed. We hope to earn your thumbs up in the future - there are a lot of exciting next gen things in the works (with some coming quite soon!).
@@SpencerScottPugh I prefer when content creators post misinformation they pull the content with the misinformation and repost with an edit correcting the misinformation. Not everyone reads comments, and so the misinformation spreads.
Hi Spencer I've now seen the XREAL BEAM PRO it about size and form of a mobile phone with a screen xreal say there going to be a 5g lte version . ANY CHANCE OF A REVIEW ?
@mbk1251 not entirely sure but I do have a call with the PR director in the coming weeks and I might get more insight into the new beam. We shall see. Would love to review any of their new products!
In case no one knows what "IPD" is (like me), I looked it up: "IPD stands for Inter Pupillary Distance, or simply put, the distance between your pupils. "
I have the Xreal Air 2 pro. I've tried the Rayneo X2 and the latest Viture XR PRO. All of them have 1080 p with 120hz refresh rate. All three of them can project the screen in front of you without any additional accessories. And of all three AR glasses; the Xreal felt more comfortable to wear even when laying down sideways and the size of the Xreal didn't look weird when I wear them while you're out and about in the public and they pass as regular sunglasses (depending on the angle that others are looking at you from). Unlike the Viture XR PRO the weirdness factor is at the top of my chart. They're ok for small heads (because they feel like kids glasses when they're on my head) and the temples were uncomfortable for me when wearing them, the only Pros they got from me in myoptic adjustments built in, increased brightness, and a magnetic connection usb c cable. Without my prescription glasses there's Zero (#0) Blur in my experience. Rayneos did everything Xreal can do except it was brighter, but the comfort level and the sound quality was less than of the Xreal. And as far as sound quality; I rate the Xreal better than Rayneo X2 and Virtue XR PRO. While the Virtue XR PRO sounded slightly better than Xreal Air 2 Pro, but they were still too tiny for a real open ear experience. If was sitting close to a fan or my AC came on that sound from the Viture was drowned compared to Rayneo X2 and Xreal in my experience. I am having the Viture volume maxed out while on the Xreal.. the volume is at 70% and doesnt get drowned when the nearby fan or AC comes on. I agree with most people on the beam; they suck. but if you haven't already tried it. Go give it a shot. Even if you already bought one, I wouldn't hold high hopes for it either. If you can't anywhere to buy it from; did you try Amazon? I understand why you couldn't purchase the xbeam from Xreal because the last time I checked they're coming out with a new "X Beam 2 or Pro". So, I'd stay tuned for that info and in the meantime, I'm keeping my Xreal glasses, and I've already returned the xbeam. I'm going to say the reason why most are seeing blurry edges is because your frames have to be positioned perfectly for your eyes to see the whole picture including edges. Try different nose pads because all of them are malleable and when it fits just right, they're not blurry to me. I have prescription glasses on my xreal and they're perfect. before I purchased the prescription, I tested with the smallest pair of prescription glasses with thin temples that I had and wore the Xreal Air 2 pro over it and that's when I knew the edges are no longer blurry. So please to everyone who complains about blurriness get your eyes checked by an optometrist, if not then go buy yourself the Viture or Rokid they have myoptic adjustments built in that fits most people including prescription wearers. I cannot fully speak on Rokids as I've never wore them. But I hope this helps.
You’re the first person I’ve seen hang the viture xr pro and xreal pro. I see for the most part you recommend the xreal. For someone mainly gaming and wants the highest picture quality, which one would you recommend?
@@ifherbowasntg548 Keep in mind all three brands glasses incorporate Sony’s panel so the display specs are far too similar to notice any difference on all three. I could probably say the Viture display looked smaller compared to Xreal air 2 pro and Rayneos X2 because the Rayneos advertised 220 inches the Xreal 330 in and the Viture 139 in can see why many complain about the edges being blurry screen is too big. That problem is solved with the Viture (with a caveat -you lose some screen real estate of course). if you want to game on it specifically for that purpose and without interruptions then I’ll probably go with the Viture because they don’t have proximity sensors in front of the glasses like Xreals and Rayneos do. This is not to bash the sensors they’re great idea if you take your glasses off during playback they’ll automatically turn off the panels or pause the video for you. The Viture don’t have that (although I wish it did) if you fall asleep while leaving your game or have a still/non moving picture I’ll worry more about screen burn ins when you wake up in the morning. So always make sure you set your display timeout settings short at the video source so that you risk less chance of that happening. The Viture also have the myoptic adjustments dials built in so you can make it personal to your liking. For most people like myself who wear prescription glasses everyday; wearing the Viture glasses didn’t require the prescriptions to use them and I kind of like that. Thanks to the myoptic adjustments; there’s zero blur and it’s also a contributing factor to making the panels crisp and clear in the AR space. I also find the Viture even more portable than the Xreal and easy to set up (thanks to the magnetic usb c cable) if I’m not using it and wear them above the brim of my hat no wires attached. But when I’m ready to go back into the AR space I simply slap the cable on and put them on my face. Otherwise any of the AR glasses will do. Rayneo X2 tend to be a budget friendly so if you’re not trying to hurt your wallet this option should be your first choice. The Xreal is the most expensive option. I got the Viture XR Pro with 10% off discount with my total coming down at $413.00 shipped using this coupon code LXZ-BO6JHXM. If you’re interested in getting yourself a pair here for the 10% discount loox.io/z/ZFW1jnTGs and you’ll get the HBO special (Help a Brother Out special).
But it was garbage I have one of the beam units I’ve never heard of blurriness till I saw this video I’ll have to take his word for it There’s no blurriness on my unit at all
I appreciate a reviewer giving their honest opinion on something they’ve received. It definitely can be hard to do as a tech reviewer to give a harsh review I imagine but I appreciate it nonetheless!
It is hard haha and also hard when I rave about a product I love and people say I’m just doin a sales pitch or infomercial. 🤷🏼♂️ haha it’s a fine balance.
no like seriously i really appreciate this video! you have no idea, i have been watching reviews of this product and 99% of them say the product is amazing, but when i commented about the blurry edges the other 1% talks about they don’t respond 😂
Yeah… it’s hard when you want to make money off TH-cam by affiliate sales… but also want to be honest about how you feel about products… might very well make no money off this video but to me, that’s okay! I will say the build quality makes me excited for future iterations and I would hope the brand would allow me to review future versions!
The reason why its blurry around the corners is because the distance between the displays is not adjustable. The distance between the eyes is different for everyone. That is why some people love these and some don't. I just can't understand why the manufacturers don't make this adjustable. The Apple Vision has an automatic adjustment for this distance, but that is overkill and expensive. We just need a manual adjustment, that will fix the blurry text issues around the corners.
@@bluetech2809 wow, you are right about Virtue, it has IPD Adjustment and they also claim no blurry edges in their marketing. I'm going to give them a try!
Viture,XReal,Rokid are all junk. It’s a hoax. There is no screen.Buying five hundred dollars worth of accessories after you pay five hundred for the glasses is more lies. The technology is twenty years away from making things like this.
@@bluetech2809 Neither has, i don't think any of these have IPD. Because it would mean that you would need to be able to move the displays elements physically.
@@Nobody-Nowhere rokid do hv IPD adjustment(sacrificing FOV 50* to 47* I think) but you will need rokid station 2 (feb 2025) for it. mine is still otw not yet confirm this tho.
Also, I modded mine. I don't need any of the nose pads. I just purchased some third party pads and glued them directly on the nose bridge. This doesn't work for all face types but it worked for me. I didn't notice any blur, but after the mod I got a slight increase in FoV due to my iris being closer to the image.
Hi, I was searching for an idea of what to get for Christmas for myself and your video seems to be one of the few not-sponsored unboxing and I commend you for that (it's literally the first video I watch from your channel) I'm still not done watching the video as i write my comment so I'm sorry if what I'm about to ask was already answered in the video but i was wondering, I'd wanr ro use them for things like playing games with my rog ally and watching movies with my phone/tablet on planes and maybe on my bed, do you think they're a good fit for that? (I know it's more like projectors than real screen and that some clarity will be lost especially on the edges so I was wondering) EDIT: I just reached the point where you said it's kinda ok for watching movies and playing games lmao
I travel a lot and have to carry my work with me which means working in Excel and Quickbooks. I've carried a mobile monitor but was hoping that these might provide a monitor alternative. Since you're being frank (I appreciate that), can they work for this kind of detail work. All I want is a monitor. Not interested in all the buzzes and whistles...just a working monitor. What do you think?
I got the air 2 ultras. I didn't get the beam because it says the ultras have 6dof (read: you can pin apps in certain places in space, instead of them just being in front of you all the time), and quite frankly I'm confused about what the beam does and doesn't do. I was also not clear on how it's supposed to project 3 1080p monitors when the resolution is just 1080p, but as Spencer said, it just cuts off the screens you're not looking at (actually when looking at the middle screen I can still see maybe 5-10% of the the other two screens, not sure what's going on there, but the rest of the screens are cut off). The thing that really bothered me though is how unstable it is. It just shakes a little bit every time I move my head. It recovers its position, but it's jarring. Imagine if your monitor was flimsy it rocked every time you moved your head. I'll try it again tomorrow, sometimes you just need to adjust these things, but I think I'll probably return these and wait for the next gen product when they can get the resolution to a better spot.
Hey Spencer, I just came across your video, and I want to thank you for your honest review of these glasses. I have to agree that I enjoy the Xreal Air more than the Air 2 and Pro models. You're absolutely right about the issue with the edges-I thought it was just me experiencing that issue, so it's reassuring to hear you mention it too. I also noticed that the inner lens of the Xreal Air is wider, which eliminates that problem. I’m curious as to why this feature was reduced in the newer models. Perhaps it was done to achieve a lighter weight, but it seems to have created a significant issue instead.
I experienced the exact same issue with text. I wanted to perform some console operations, but in the Console, all text starts from the left, and your prompt is usually at the bottom-left. I couldn’t see the text clearly-it was slightly blurry, and even worse, it looked like there were missing pixels. The text appeared as if I were looking through a chessboard but could only see through the light squares. These glasses are definitely NOT suitable for any kind of work.
Have you tried adjusting the frames so that the image is more in view with you eyes. The whole lens part can be adjusted up and down which really helps with a better image.
Well what I would like to know is would these be a good replacement for a PC monitor where I am mostly stationary but would like to have a massive screen where I can have tons of windows and applications going where I can just look between them and instead of having to drop thousands of dollars on a massive PC screen that will not fit in my space and will only be a fraction of the size of the display that these glasses can display? Like I don't want 1/3 of my bedroom to be occupied by 4 massive multi-thousand dollar monitors when I could just pop a set of glasses on.
Yes, I love the concept * USB-c monitor * 1080p 120Hz oled * perscription lenses * Discreet appearance (look like normal sunglasses) But the blurry text in the corners is a deal breaker. It does seem strange that they've made the display such a tiny fraction of the lenses. What would be amazing, obviously a big ask though, is 4k full size displays. So you can actually move your eyes to see different parts of the screen. My interest in them would be the ability to write code on the go.
so which one would you recommend? use case of military on-the-go with phone as only allowable tech to carry around and watch movies and play games on the phone kind of a heads up larger display use. Thanks for your honest review.
dude if you arent able to have a bigger screen than your phone, than 100% get these or RayNeos. I think that is a great use case for them. My RayNeo review is coming out Saturday. I do think both brands are pretty equal (unless you get the beam which seems to add way more functionality) without the beam the two headsets are pretty neck and neck IMO.
You mentioned only the left bottom was blurry. Have you tried to adjust the nose piece? Try to move both the legs of the nose to the left slightly so the left lens is more in view. Or you can move both legs outward (wider) so your entire face sits closer to the lenses.
Interesting take but absolutely correct or somewhat false depending on a persons expectation. If you try these, or any of the AR glasses out there, expecting an Apple Vision like experience, you're not going to find it. If you try these expecting a passive screen in your face, then it's not bad. I've had the original Airs and Beam since they came out and with low expectations, I'm content with them. With my head size and PD, I guess I'm lucky with fitment and viewing angles. I just ordered the Air 2 Pros (thus how I ended up on this video) so I wonder if I'll get the blurry edges but I didn't notice them with the old pair until I checked after watching this video. I'll dig deeper into that. As for usage and expectations. I travel a lot so I use them to work and watch movies on planes or throw up some extra monitors while away from my home office. Using the Nebula app on Mac is ok. It's one of those things you don't think about until you have to be critical of a product (like making a review). The field of view isn't natural so if you are using a triple monitor setup in Nebula, you wont have full peripheral view of the outer 2 screens while you stare at the center screen but is that a realistic expectation. You can adjust the field of view with the app to get just about all 3 screens in your FOV but then they are tiny. You can also adjust screen size by changing the virtual distance of the screen. Playing with distance and FOV I found a happy medium. In the end, Im doing the same thing I do with a physical triple monitor setup. Turning my head/body to see what's on one screen at a time. NOW I notice some edge blur or more like a ghosting. If I look at the corners of my desktop (with and without using the Nebula app) the icons in my dock or the date and time in the top right corner do appear to be "glowing". Best way to describe it. Never bothered me until today lol but now I cant unsee it. I think I have an average PD so nothing is cut off or illegible around the edges but on the very edge, things aren't super crisp. It's also worth mentioning that I wear prescription lenses and I'm using these glasses without the prescription inserts. The image through the Airs is much more legible without my prescription vs staring at my computer without my glasses on. I also have not cleaned them since I got them so that could be part of my issue. On to the Beam. Pretty limited but handy. If I just want to watch Netflix or Prime Video on a flight, it's cool. I don't have to kill my phone battery and it provides the additional viewing modes. I believe the slow head tracking mode Spencer is referring to is called steady follow which does eliminate micro jitters that definitely give me motion sickness after an hour. You can also pin the image in space, shrink it to Picture in Picture mode (which I do sometimes to watch content and work on a physical device at the same time as an augmented overlay), or lock it to your head movement. Thats it for the Beam though. 2 apps, a power bank, and display controls. It does get hot in your pocket, it does have a fan, and it has decent controls on it. You can also store files on it. If you expected more then it's not for you. For watching movies on the go, it's pretty good. If you want better options, the Rokid Station is Google TV and apps in your pocket. Viture also has the Neck Band that I just bought to go with my Air 2 Pros. This is a blend of an android device, power bank, file storage system, and light AR interface. They all get hot and the Neckband also has a noisy fan. I just think it offers more and it wont be heating up as much as the Beam suffocating in my pocket. Theres a Rokid Station 2 coming and a new Beam that both should be significant upgrades for AR experiences so we'll see. Overall, like Spencer said, if you like gadgets and have money to spend, all of these things are fun toys. That includes Apple Vision, although it's much more refined and immersive, it still isn't the floating hologram in your face that a lot of people think these glasses are. If you have realistic expectations and the right....head and eye profile for such things, they can be pretty useful.
To be fair the marketing materials from Xreal (but also other competitors) are such that they are the ones creating these expectations. Look at any marketing stuff and you'll see simulated images of gigantic screens or multiple screens pinned in space around the user. Like you say, the FOV is far more limited and you have to physically move your head to see the other virtual screens, but that's not how they are marketing it so IMO it's their fault and their fault only. They cannot advertise one thing, deliver another, and expect people to just pretend that it's fine.
Great review. impartial regarding the brand, thanks to xreal not responding quickly, perhaps. I bought it and am waiting for it to arrive in Brazil, that's why I'm looking at this review. I also understand that this is just an additional monitor that I will use for games and multimedia. Your experience as a user is important to me because it is through this that I come to the conclusion about the purpose of these glasses in my daily life. Congratulations for sharing the review.
I didn't buy the Xreal glasses but I bought the Viture Pro XR. I have to say it had the EXACT same problem. The corners were blurry and it was impossible to do work with them. I bought it to have a "virtual office" on long plane rides. But yea, the blurry corners are no go and I was looking at your review to see if Xreal was different.
Have you tried taking the nose cushion things out? It was really blurry for me, but after taking that thing out and letting the glasses sit directly on my nose it's pretty much perfect. I'm assuming these glasses were designed around Chinese faces, since they're made by a Chinese company after all, so us white folk have to make some adjustments. No big deal.
Thanks for giving your honest thoughts on your experience with the device. I hope no one argues with you about why they like it versus your experience with it and I hope you are able to try the ultra and give your options on it.
I wouldn’t. But you could try. Would probably want the beam so you can put the screen in one of the corners so it doesn’t block your view. Can’t do that without the beam.
Great video Spencer, i was looking to get these or the vision that looks like a skimask, but i see both cause fatigue, which is a shame.. i guess its cause of how close an image/video is to the eyes..
@@SpencerScottPugh because of the virtual reality appearance i imagine the objects are closer, it causes the eyes to shift focus too much and the strain of it too, the brain would still have trouble telling real objects like looking around a room seeing solid objects but a 1-2 dimension not as well,
I have not tried the product yet, but based on your video when you unboxed it, there is adjustment to be done, every face is different, but seems to me that the issue or one of the issue you had was that the glasses were not properly adjusted and that is why you could see some reflections, wearing the glasses at a different angle might make a difference.
For sure I think they can be adjusted some… but if you tried them you’d get what I mean with a lot of my points. Kinda hard to articulate such a personal experience. One of those things you gotta try for yourself for sure!
*Thank you* for the honest review. This category of products seems to almost entirely have people on TH-cam making fluffy, detail-less videos, aiming for short-term affiliate income. The issues you point out are things I'd expected would be issues, and yet none of the videos I've watched so far addressed them. I've subscribed, and look forward to watching your other videos.
I tried 3 pairs in 2 weeks ( my return amazon guy will flip) - and like you said technology is not there yet! I mean, the RayNeo X2 Pro or what ever the name is is the closest but still the confort and you mention the big stuff in your eye sight.. and for me the wires.. I did not thought wires would bother me so much but after 2-3 weeks of trying in bed and stuff - i return to my quest 3 for everything those do. I will be waiting for wireless and smaller optics. 5 yrs maybe?
Instant new sub here. This was a great review with honesty from a personal experience. It’s hard to find that. He was ALSO not overly negative, and didn’t let his impression of the item affect his judgment of the company as a whole. It’s very hard to separate yourself from things like that. But this guy did a fantastic job of distinguishing between the two. Now to go see what other reviews are here!
11:57, the answer is pretty obvious, the larger the screen, the pixels per degree is lower and the perceived quality is lower. It's kinda like if you look at low quality images from afar they don't look AS bad
I truly appreciate your honest review of the product. Considering the significant cost, I would have been disappointed to invest in something that doesn’t fully meet my expectations. I will keep an eye on what this company offers in the future because the concept is excellent, and as you noted, the materials are well-made. I'm confident they will address the current issues, and when they do, I’ll definitely become a customer.
I was considering those for work, since I have some vision issue. Having a bigger screen whitout the screen on my desk sounded good. However, your experiense with blurry corner and distraction is a big deal to me. Thank you for your honest review.
They aren’t blurry. They are blurry for some people who have different vision than you. Regardless if an eye doctor says 20:20 it’s just not how eyes work. Try for yourself and if you don’t like, return them.
I think this is the most unbiased review i have ever seen. All the pros & cons explained very nicely 👌 Are you also going to review Air 2 Ultra with beam pro?
Thank you for an honest review. Specially about the light ingress and blurry image - these two things are deciding factors for me. I certainly would want the device to have a clear image and be able to use it for work.
You're right that once they can make it so that the mini OLED monitor whatever covers the entire glass section on both sides, the FOV will increase significantly. It must be technical/cost limitations because we can see that competitors like Rokid and Viture are using essentially the same technology. I guess the other issue is that even if such technology becomes available, it needs to be light enough that the form factor/comfort/wearability isn't impacted too much. Logically, it would make the eyeglass part of the package heavier so you'd have to add weight to the rear of the frame to counterbalance that.
Might I say I love the honesty, and I would really like to get the Xreal Pro with the Beam. However, the new Beam pro is basically an Android phone which is fair since their app works on android and not iPhone and so they can have all the functionality of the original Beam plus there app in one place. But, I and many other people have an IPhone in our pockets and it is really tough to have two phones in our pockets especially since there is no cellular data for the Beam Pro…
I’ve owned both XReal 2 and Rokid Max, and unfortunately had to return the XReal’s. The experience was not what I expected. I travel by air every week and found the XReal’s very uncomfortable and unpleasant to watch movies for a long period. I found the Rokid Max a much better experience. I can take a 6hr flight using the Rokid’s with no problem. Plus the screen on the Rokid Max is bigger.
Thankyou for the review, i wanted these glasses to be an alternative to monitors. Ive got a legion go and i tend to dock it with my monitor, i imagined sitting on the couch playing cyberpunk. Maybe in a few years . Thankyou 😊
It is clear your reflections are subjective. I have this device, and i dont have the same experience at all. These are the best tech i have in my house and so practical, useful, and fun. For those watching, you must try these for yourself to see if they work for you.
What I really appreciate this review and channel is how genuine, authentic and real you are. Tech reviewers like Marquees Brownlee are so fake and inauthentic, following a script with a really robotic gestures and also fake enthusiasm. With you it feels like you’re just talking from a grounded place and it makes your content more trustworthy and valuable. Hope your channel takes off soon. Please keep your natural manner! I’ve been looking at this product for a year and they look so interesting, but I can tell they haven’t crossed that gimmick uncanny valley. Thanks for confirming my impressions since I can’t take the paid shills seriously. I can forgive them for simply being a monitor and I am grateful for the industry pushing for the AR glasses to go mainstream, however I think it goes without saying that we simply need big players like Meta, Google and Apple to come along to make a AR wearable glasses that are undeniably good. What’s missing from the Meta glasses are these displays. If a company can give me these glasses with screens but also have an AI assistant that can see the world like the meta glasses or new Google glasses then i’m game. Too bad the new Google glasses and meta glasses don’t have the screen because I’d rather read than hear.
Personally I don't want any of the AI assistant or AR nonsense. I just want a pair of XR glasses that will throw up a couple of big virtual screens in front of me, so that I can sit outside on my laptop and work. I really don't need or want anything else. No other functionality. No standalone XR app or device. The only add-on device I've seen that looks cool is the Viture dock that allows you to connect two sets of glasses, meaning you could watch a movie/tv show together or play video games together with someone. I'll caveat that by saying that I don't have one and have no idea how/whether it works well.
I've had the original Nreal Air since they were released in Japan. I loved them and the concept of them, but the plastic gave out pretty early on since I got them. My pair finally bit the dust last week and I went with the Viture Pros due to their aluminum chassis. I prefer the style of the Xreal and was gunning for the Ultras but they took too long to market. That being said, I use them every day. Both companies need to make an all encompassing light filter, not just the clip on shield. I also would need a pair of glasses, not sunglasses. I drive at night for work. No, I don't watch videos and drive, but I've attempted to use them at night and it's possible just not convenient. You have to look through the very bottom of the lenses to see anything at night and with the line blocking the center of your vision like you mentioned in your critique, it's just too much. So my suggestion, for both Xreal and Viture, is clear lenses with the electrochromic dimmer, a plastic shield for a clear picture, and a full blackout visor for immersion. For Xreal specifically, they need to up the build quality. Aluminum, titanium, or carbon fiber. A sport version would be cool too but build quality needs to improve first.
Thank you for a great review. I have a dumb question for you... what happens if you use a black sharpie (or a piece of tape) to wrap around the edges of those lenses. In theory, it should stop the reflection, but I am not sure if that will solve your issues. I am still debating what glasses to get. Thus far I've been deeply enjoying using my Quest 3 with Immersed for working and hoping there is a product out there that is not as bulky (and doesn't cost $1000) that can replicate a multi-screen work environment. also, can you stream youtube and whatnot from an android tablet without using the Beam addon?
@@SpencerScottPugh Thank you for the reply! Bud how needed is the Beam addon? Can I still experience all the streaming if glasses are connected to an android phone/tablet?
@@dimaj1I'm not yet a user but, based on everything else I've seen and read, the answer is yes, even without the Beam you can stream content from your connected device, *provided* it's a compatible device (they have a list).
I love the honesty, I used the Xreal air 1 with the beam last year and it was so bad I had to return them. I LOVE the idea and can’t wait for it to be done right but till then we will have to wait. Side note, beam overheats like crazy.
Fun fact: For his very honest review. Xreal didn't send him the next version of glasses. Well done XREAL as always for suppressing the genuine content creators.👏
You hit all the pain points I had when I tried them. It didn't work out for me mainly for the optics being not wide enough and blurry. Appreciate your honesty and "real world" user perspective. Sub'ing.
I have the same issue with blurred vision. The issue is everyone faces are obviously different, but I don’t think they took into account how many people faces aren’t even. You may not notice but on eye may not be level with the other. You will need to pull one of the eye pieces really far. So basically you will make it adjust to your uneven face. Then you you can use the ear part to level it better. But even doing that. There will be so much pressure on the nose that you can’t wear it long periods comfortably. What they needed to do with this upgrade was make the lenses larger. This would help with uneven faces and the millions of different face shapes. Yeah it would cost a bit more. But if the glasses aren’t comfortable or it’s blurry what’s the point. But yeah. If you do that you can actually get a crystal clear view. But again. You won’t wear it for long.
While the comments about blur are alarming, my big concern is the difficulty reading text. I watch a lot foreign TV shows on Netflix, etc. with SUBTITLES. If I can't read subtitles, that's an I stant fail for me.
In my experience, they're worth it but yeah have your expectations correct for this one. Great for video consumption. The amount of accessories and things you need to have is one thing, but I can tell there's are the early stages of products like this. Any of his points are valid but you really have to try them to know if you experience or feel the same
I want to get one of this to pair with my steamdeck docked and a wireless control, for a quick-ish session on bed. I think for that particular case works great, but yeah, I don't think this, or even the Apple Vision for that matter, can be a productivity tool.
Right now in the market, I would buy either the Even Realities G1, or dish out some money for the VR line - Apple Vision pro for instance. I just don't think this kinda tech is quite ready.
As I write this, I've had these glasses for about 2 hours. The Nebula app used to pair with my Samsung S23 Ultra Plus is garbage. I can't get it to work. I've gotten it to load full screen maybe twice. AR Space does nothing but brick the phone and AR Casting does nothing. I'm sending these back.
@@jconan28do you mean S23 Ultra or S23 Plus? I've never heard of an "S23 Ultra Plus" but I *have* seen the S23 Ultra in Xreal's compatibility lists. Fwiw.
It is said to have better software and user experience if only at the expense of hardware. They are also much better with customer support. I would be interested in your unbiased review (became a fan of yours after you are so honest with this one)
@@SpencerScottPugh It does fix one of your major gripes though, you just turn your head an the blurry corner is no longer in the corner and blurry. I have the non pro version and think they're great, took them on holiday and was able to plug into my phone and watch TH-cam, Netflix etc. while sitting by the pool on a sun lounger as well as keepingme amused on a 4-5 hour flight to get there and back.
@@SpencerScottPugh No, just nebula on your mac. It uses the processing power of the computer to keep the monitor images static and feeds gyro input from the glasses back to it to know when you're moving your head. The beam works in a similar way just with much lower processing power available.
@@shuflie the Nebula app is not that great on mac though. the screen shakes with slight movements and it makes me motion sick. The Windows version is much more stable but i experience screen tearing. Using it with my Samsung fold and the android Nebula app is smooth as butter though. Havent tried it with Beam yet.
Hello! Thank you for this video because I have a pair of RAYNEO Air 2 Smart glasses, pretty much the same concept as your glasses, and the very issues you are describing occurs with my glasses. It makes no sense to me that the viewing area is blurry in spite of being visible. As you said, move the glasses around to see the sides and corner stuff better, and only on one side at a time. This is one of those WTF were they thinking when designing these things? You are right the concept is also what I have been looking for, kind of. The glasses I have are absolutely are not what I expected given the hype! I would like to know what human model was used to fashion the eye pieces. An adjustable eyepiece would be a vast improvement in media viewing. Having to move the glasses around your eyes to get the best viewing angle is aggravating! Why can't I just put them on and see what is being offered without all of the hand face acrobatics? A bone conducting headphone is a better setup than the current setup with these types of mobile audio visual entertainment systems. Trying to hear thru these things requires an almost quiet surrounding! Not being able to hear what is being played thru the speakers, defeats the purpose of mobile entertainment. Good video!
This was absolutely my experience with trying these out (twice purchased even!), especially with the small subsection of possible screen space occupied. Maybe using all of the inside of the lens for the screens is just not possible yet. Anyway, I still would have kept them if they would just work well enough with a windows laptop environment. I don't understand why they don't get this done as I think so many folks like myself would adopt them for working over merely entertainment reasons. Great review.
Thanks for this video! I have been looking into these and interested and all I can find are influencers pushing and peddling a device they were sent for free. Your video let me understand the real experience and took the magic out of it. Now I'm saving some money instead of spending it on these so someday when a version that matches my expectation comes out I won't have wasted it on these lol
I have these and have had them for months. I understand what you are saying about the field of view. But guess what its very similar to the field of view in the Apple Vision Pro as well. Its juat where technology is right now.
man i would love it they can squeezes more pixel into that screen, for me to read anything it needs to be 1080 resolution... otherwise it's too blurry.
Thanks for an honest review! 👍 I emailed Xreal and asked them where it is possible to test a pair of air 2 pro, because I live in Europe (Stockholm Sweden) and there is no dealer here. I got the answer: "if you have the roads past London, Paris or Berlin, you can try them there!" It was a serious answer.. In addition, they cost about $135 more from xreal europe than xreal usa.
I have Xreal Air (1) and honestly i think that all of these glasses are really useful for 1-2 scenarios: - playing computer games - watching movies I use glasses with Odin 2 / Ayaneo Geek 1S handhelds and for this usecase, it's actually great. I can be in bed, in the evening, my head, neck are resting and I can play computer games. To be fair, I would play strategy games, with tons of text, especially around the edges - like you said, with version 1, the screen is blurry around the corners. It's hmm frustrating a bit. Why ? Because if you move the glasses, it changes a bit, so you think that maybe if you position your glasses differnetly , put them on the nose loose, or tight that it'll fix - but nope ;) I wonder, some Viture model has correction, so there's no blurry edges (At least that's what i heard) ps. good, honest review. if I would buy it for productivity, my laptop or smartphone, I would say that this overall piece of tech is just not good enough. But if you want to watch Netflix, or play on Steam Deck then yea, it's not that bad. I mean at least Xreal Air - sometimes you can buy used one (almost new) rather cheap because well, a lot of people don't use them ;) Xreal Air 2 Pro - hmm it's just too expensive for gaming / movie device. It's a shame, i expected that they somehow fixed blurry edges.
Thank you very much for your video. I was almost about to purchase them, but thanks to your review, I decided not to. I wanted to know exactly what you explained, and if I had bought them, I would have been very disappointed. I hope the ultra version will be better, and I hope you can review those as well.
You really should try them for yourself. If the features is what you want, then this may be the product for you. Things like blurry vision is completely subjective on a per individual basis. Several hundred others will tell you it’s not blurry at all lol. Someone who doesn’t have perfect eyesight shouldn’t be a factor pushing you away from your potential experience. Just a thought, I love these things so I’m biased 😂
I wish some functions could be embedded into the glasses itself, without needing the beam, like wireless display technologies like AirPlay DNLA, WiDi... also embedded that ability to simulate 3 displays. I'd honestly be more than happy working those. Like this you can connect to your devices wirelessly, and enjoy. I'd go even further saying that we don't need the speakers, but more battery built into the glasses. Everybody owns some headphones. I'd be using my AirPods Pro. It can isolate sound, and it has pass through.
I''ve bought the Xreal 1 without beam, and loved them. When the Pro 2 came out I bought it and a beam with it. I rarely use the beam not because its bad but because I only use it in the car. You see the feature I love with the beam is that you can put the screen in the corner, that and google maps up in my phone is perfect, out of the way heads up display for the car. My day to day use is on my PC or with my phone. On the PC I use a wireless mouse and keyboard and clam shell the laptop off to the side. I game, watch YT / movies, and work all with the glasses. I do not have the blurriness you described and can see the screen fairly well even with my old eyes (I wear 1.5 readers). A decent gaming monitor will run you about what the base glasses cost. To comment on the "Ultimate" version I think that's just the Air 2 pro with the NEW beam. I cant find any Ultimate glasses by themself. PC is a MSI Katana, Phone is a Samsung S22 Ultra
@@ivan9ef Seemed pretty fast, then again I used it mainly to put my map in the upper corner with the beam. Otherwise I connect straight to my phone or computer.
Funny, I work in IT and was looking into these for work wire does not matter, but you answer a lot of questions with having to test and return them if I didn't like them keep it up sir
Thanks for this good review! I'm glad I discovered this channel. I'm quite optimistic, it takes alot to put me off a product I like the concept of, so I might buy myself a pair of these 😎
i had these,.... returned them because they are not ready yet, the fact that i have a huuuuge wire hanging from my phone in a day in age where things are streamed is not ogod
I really liked the idea of having a portable oled screen especially after using VR for a couple of years but for the price (€650 ~ $700 beam included) i can get something much better and higher resolution
Been using my xreal air 2 for about a month. 1. It's not even close to 300" it's more like 120" screen 2. I have 4 different android devices, and it only works with one of them(Samsung with Samsung dex) Just because your device has USBC doesn't meat it will work. Doesn't work with my Google Pixel, or my OnePlus brand new phones. Had the get a Samsung Galaxy. You better buy a wireless magnet battery bank because it will drain the your battery in about 3 hours
I have a love hate relationship with the xreal beam. Love the video mode controls. HATE that they dont have an app store. 3rd party apps dont work with the depth control.
I dont understand the concept of unboxing experience..... i want something its in a paper box so i take it out to use it. What the point of unboxing experience in it......
@@SpencerScottPugh Hmm yes - for 5 seconds. The rest of a user's experience is hundreds of hours (I hope) of wearing and looking and using - which you eventually got to. Thank you. My main concern with the unboxing part is you rapidly zipped past the"hub" thing with no explanation. Is it a Y plug so a power bank can be used while plugged into a phone, or some such?
I got to say I own them and review sucks. Mine hook into anything with HDMI connect. I have no blurry anywhere. I was hoping you would show how to attain privacy between xreal and apple laptops. When I close the lid everything shuts off. I am a windows quy and new to apple.
AR in general is definitely not there yet. But for gaming on my steam deck this is a dream. Ordered mine and hoping it makes gaming way more comfortable in bed at night
@@SpencerScottPugh I just ordered mine and I hope I will have better experience then you :O mainly for SIM Racing so as a monitor and not on the go etc... Will be making a video too since there is waay to many script reading ones regarding this topic...
@@SpencerScottPugh whoa!! Never heard of these. So are they different to the 'air' series? You've just spent my afternoon for me, next 3 hours are research into 'one' - as I say, I'm desperate for a pair to be ready.
It would be nice if there was a way to have no dimming it all. I wouldn't mind if the image was a bit washed out. Clear (or not as dim) lenses combined with the Beam would allow me to treat the glasses as an extra monitor without interfering too much with my view of the physical monitor. It sort of works now as long as I crank up the brightness of my monitor to compensate for the dimmer view through the Air. While the Beam helps, the Nebula software for Windows still isn't there to have a large virtual screen suitable for working. They company that can deliver a similar experience as a physical widescreen monitor will have my money. That being said, it is fun to watch a movie with the Air + Beam in a dark room.
Honestly I think a lot of your gripes have to do with your lifestyle and the tech you use. Not saying you don't have some points, but I have the original NReals and I upgraded to these just for the tinted glass bit really. I use them with my rog ally x laying in bed and on the plane with my S24 Ultra. Having Samsung Dex changes the game for these glasses. The phone turns into a trackpad for the glasses and when you touch a text field it pops up the keyboard, which you can see in your lower peripheral vision because they aren't goggle strapped to your face. I found I had to bend the nose bits out a lot and squish the glasses to my face to get my preferred viewing experience. Head shape, like with actual glasses matters quite a bit. I think the next step for all of these manufacturers is to have the ability to scale the image and adjust focus to match peoples vision and distance you need the glasses from your face.
At the end of the day, it is a fun new experience. If you've got money to spend and want to try some well made, new tech, grab yours here: bit.ly/456MgK2 and use code Spencer20 for $20 off
You saved me from spending my cash on this. I really an looking forward to the future. I want to use these for work, I'm a Mechanical Designer and would be looking for a multi display experience. Thank you for making this video ! Was great that you highlighted the experience vs what the tech claims it does.
Thank you for clearing these concerns up. I'll keep this comment pinned so others can see your response! Thanks, XREAL!
@@SpencerScottPugh I prefer when content creators post misinformation they pull the content with the misinformation and repost with an edit correcting the misinformation. Not everyone reads comments, and so the misinformation spreads.
Hi Spencer
I've now seen the XREAL BEAM PRO it about size and form of a mobile phone with a screen xreal say there going to be a 5g lte version . ANY CHANCE OF A REVIEW ?
@mbk1251 not entirely sure but I do have a call with the PR director in the coming weeks and I might get more insight into the new beam. We shall see. Would love to review any of their new products!
In case no one knows what "IPD" is (like me), I looked it up:
"IPD stands for Inter Pupillary Distance, or simply put, the distance between your pupils.
Shew! Comprehensive comparison review in a comment! Love it! 😄
@@SpencerScottPugh Happy to contribute and I'm glad you enjoyed.
I got the Viture XR Pro with 10% off discount with my total coming down at $413.00 shipped using this coupon code LXZ-BO6JHXM. no like seriously i really appreciate this video! you have no idea, i have been watching reviews of this product and 99% of them say the product is amazing, but when i commented about the blurry edges the other 1% talks about they don’t respond 😂
As far as my googling goes, Viture (and maybe Rokid) have built-in manual IPD adjustment, and they cost roughly the same as the XREALs.

Hi, I was searching for an idea of what to get for Christmas for myself and your video seems to be one of the few not-sponsored unboxing and I commend you for that (it's literally the first video I watch from your channel)
I'm still not done watching the video as i write my comment so I'm sorry if what I'm about to ask was already answered in the video but i was wondering, I'd wanr ro use them for things like playing games with my rog ally and watching movies with my phone/tablet on planes and maybe on my bed, do you think they're a good fit for that? (I know it's more like projectors than real screen and that some clarity will be lost especially on the edges so I was wondering)
EDIT: I just reached the point where you said it's kinda ok for watching movies and playing games lmao
Yeahp yeahp!
Nope. Too blurry around the edges (in my use case) to do any small text tedious work.
Dang. We’re getting close though!!
Hey Spencer,
I just came across your video, and I want to thank you for your honest review of these glasses.
I think you nailed it! Yeah man idk 🤷🏼♂️ we’ll see what they do with future versions!
I’ve tried everything at this point lol
You may want to try the viture pros because they help with the blurrines. But they’re coming out with the xreal one’s that are hopefully better.
I saw that! Hopefully I can review them!
No. It doesn’t work in that way as well as you’d like it to. You could try it but I don’t think these replace monitors in any way
@@SpencerScottPugh well if these aren't good enough to replace a TV or monitor than they're useless
@@PhagitzSpreadAIDS kinda the gist of my review but I do think they’re okay for gaming or media consumption
Interocular Distance: you should be able to adjust it.
FOV: is it small like 45 degrees?
I just want something for playing Switch games on a plane. Would these be ok for that?
use the switch in handheld mode?
Would be a good use case I would think.
Yes, I love the concept
* USB-c monitor
* 1080p 120Hz oled
* perscription lenses
* Discreet appearance (look like normal sunglasses)
But the blurry text in the corners is a deal breaker.
It does seem strange that they've made the display such a tiny fraction of the lenses.
What would be amazing, obviously a big ask though, is 4k full size displays. So you can actually move your eyes to see different parts of the screen.
My interest in them would be the ability to write code on the go.
Awesome use case… just not quite there yet. Trying to do any sort of work reading small text was a headache.
so which one would you recommend? use case of military on-the-go with phone as only allowable tech to carry around and watch movies and play games on the phone kind of a heads up larger display use.
@@SpencerScottPugh Thx, looking forward to your upcoming review :)
Hey, is the blurring something firmware can fix or is it a hardware issue? Are you still using these and did you get to use the new beam with it?
Problem with my eyes I think. Didn’t get to use the beam, no

Thanks Donald! Glad to have you!
I think they refused to send @@SpencerScottPugh xreal one because of his brutal honesty. I will be waiting for your review.
You mentioned only the left bottom was blurry. Have you tried to adjust the nose piece? Try to move both the legs of the nose to the left slightly so the left lens is more in view. Or you can move both legs outward (wider) so your entire face sits closer to the lenses.
I will try this! Thank you!!
Thanks for the comment! Hope you like it!!
Yeah, more for center-focused media consuming I think!
I found the corners are blurry. I can't seem to find a solution.
@richardflood3058 good idea. Haven’t tried this!
Thanks for giving your honest thoughts on your experience with the device. I hope no one argues with you about why they like it versus your experience with it and I hope you are able to try the ultra and give your options on it.
Hey, thanks Ruben!
@@SpencerScottPugh You're always welcome sir. Please keep up the great work.
@@ruben79nyc I surely will! 🙌🏻
So i work at the airport and its so bright in the airport my job is the carts like smarte carte would u say i can use them for walking ?
For sure. Not sure if time would help with that fatigue or not
@@SpencerScottPugh because of the virtual reality appearance i imagine the objects are closer, it causes the eyes to shift focus too much and the strain of it too, the brain would still have trouble telling real objects like looking around a room seeing solid objects but a 1-2 dimension not as well,
I have not tried the product yet, but based on your video when you unboxed it, there is adjustment to be done, every face is different, but seems to me that the issue or one of the issue you had was that the glasses were not properly adjusted and that is why you could see some reflections, wearing the glasses at a different angle might make a difference.
Thanks Michael! I appreciate that!
Yeah maybe 5 years!
Please do a follow-up with the full kit of the ultra version.
I would love to! Still haven’t heard back from my contact about reviewing the ultra!
Hey! Thanks so much :)
Thanks!!
I was considering those for work, since I have some vision issue. Having a bigger screen whitout the screen on my desk sounded good. However, your experiense with blurry corner and distraction is a big deal to me. Thank you for your honest review.
No I use these for work. They are great for this. Mine aren't blurry as he says. On a Mac it gives you 3 screens on Windows it gives you 1.
Thanks so much for your kind words! I would love to but the brand has yet to respond. Will surely review them if I can get them :)
Thank you for an honest review. Specially about the light ingress and blurry image - these two things are deciding factors for me. I certainly would want the device to have a clear image and be able to use it for work.
Yeah :/
what about a quest 3 for a monitor replacement?
Never tested one! Would love to!
How does quality compare to Meta Quest 3 for productivity? I don't like MQ3 for work because its heavy and clunky.
Not sure! Never tried VR
Correct! They’re all working with what current tech is available! Destined to improve over time.
What unboxing knife are you using?
Daily carry co!
There is cellular data in the beam pro… it’s just not a phone lol.
Interesting
Thankyou for the review, i wanted these glasses to be an alternative to monitors. Ive got a legion go and i tend to dock it with my monitor, i imagined sitting on the couch playing cyberpunk. Maybe in a few years . Thankyou 😊
Will these work for a person with one eye?
They should! Just two separate screens!
@SpencerScottPugh they should make them half off and just put in one screen
It is clear your reflections are subjective. I have this device, and i dont have the same experience at all. These are the best tech i have in my house and so practical, useful, and fun. For those watching, you must try these for yourself to see if they work for you.
I agree!!
Where could we try these without first spending the coin?
He is the third person I’ve watched doing this and all said the same thing. Enjoy yours but I will give it a few more years before I buy any sadly.
Hey thanks, RJ! I appreciate you and I agree with you!!
Great ideas brother!
You could try! And yes can stream from beam
@@PeterWebful cool. thank you!
I love the honesty, I used the Xreal air 1 with the beam last year and it was so bad I had to return them. I LOVE the idea and can’t wait for it to be done right but till then we will have to wait. Side note, beam overheats like crazy.
Ah good info on beam overheat. Yeah I’m excited for this concept for sure!
Hope you will be able to review Viture pro glasses as well. They have eliminated the blurry corner effects as I heard.
Oh nice!!
Would love to hear a comparison with the viture pro xr!
I’ll see if I can get some!
Fun fact: For his very honest review. Xreal didn't send him the next version of glasses.
Well done XREAL as always for suppressing the genuine content creators.👏
This is true. They haven't sent me anything *yet* at least!
@SpencerScottPugh China for you. 😅
They always do this.
Great honest Video! Are those glasses plug and play friendly for a android phone?
As far as I can tell yes. But you need usbc. I would check the site to make sure
Which one should i get ultras? Or virtues?
🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
Great review. I've bought the firstcand second generation Xreal glasses, I think I'm going to look elsewhere next time. Try a different brand.
Nice! I’m trying to get hands on RayNeos currently.
You hit all the pain points I had when I tried them. It didn't work out for me mainly for the optics being not wide enough and blurry. Appreciate your honesty and "real world" user perspective. Sub'ing.
Hey thanks for that. Glad to have you. More real world honest reviews every week just for you! 👊🏻
Have you tried something that you like better? I'm thinking about getting some AR glasses instead of a monitor.
@fledgeking I’d get a monitor. Don’t think the tech in any of these devices can quite replace a monitor setup yet!
@@SpencerScottPugh Agreed. These AR glasses are "ok" at best with watching 1080p videos.
@@SpencerScottPugh Thanks! I like experimental tech, but I don't have enough disposable income to spend money on something that won't be good. 😅
Nice I’ll try that
While the comments about blur are alarming, my big concern is the difficulty reading text.
I watch a lot foreign TV shows on Netflix, etc. with SUBTITLES. If I can't read subtitles, that's an I stant fail for me.
You could try and see and return if needed!
In my experience, they're worth it but yeah have your expectations correct for this one. Great for video consumption. The amount of accessories and things you need to have is one thing, but I can tell there's are the early stages of products like this. Any of his points are valid but you really have to try them to know if you experience or feel the same
Well said. I agree bro 👊🏻
Literally throwing them on right now to game too 😭
lol nice 🙌🏻
I want to get one of this to pair with my steamdeck docked and a wireless control, for a quick-ish session on bed. I think for that particular case works great, but yeah, I don't think this, or even the Apple Vision for that matter, can be a productivity tool.
Nice! I think that would be a great pairing 👍🏻
This was a good review. Good content ty.
Thanks!
What kind of Glasses would you recommend? i was going to buy this ones.
Right now in the market, I would buy either the Even Realities G1, or dish out some money for the VR line - Apple Vision pro for instance. I just don't think this kinda tech is quite ready.
@@SpencerScottPugh thank you very much.
I'm sending these back.
hmmm did you try the firmware updates?
@@SpencerScottPugh I did. They didn't do anything. Xreal sent me an email that stated the glasses aren't compatible with the S23 Ultra Plus.
@@jconan28do you mean S23 Ultra or S23 Plus? I've never heard of an "S23 Ultra Plus" but I *have* seen the S23 Ultra in Xreal's compatibility lists. Fwiw.
Did you try the Viture Pro?
I have not! Should I?
It is said to have better software and user experience if only at the expense of hardware. They are also much better with customer support. I would be interested in your unbiased review (became a fan of yours after you are so honest with this one)
Did you install and use the Nebula app in your mac and use it together with the glasses?
Yeahp! I talk about that a little later in the video. Just couldn’t remember what the app was called
@shuflie nice. This is with the beam?
Good video!
Thanks! I do think XReal does better at some of the things you mentioned. I thought sound was fine and loud enough
Thanks brother! sorry you've had a hard time with them.
Yes! Love that! Thanks for the comment.
I have these and have had them for months. I understand what you are saying about the field of view. But guess what its very similar to the field of view in the Apple Vision Pro as well. Its juat where technology is right now.
Well said 👍🏻
When will they incorporate the beam into the glasses...
man i would love it they can squeezes more pixel into that screen, for me to read anything it needs to be 1080 resolution... otherwise it's too blurry.
res can always be improved! res on these didnt bother me though!
Thanks for an honest review! 👍
I emailed Xreal and asked them where it is possible to test a pair of air 2 pro, because I live in Europe (Stockholm Sweden) and there is no dealer here.
I got the answer: "if you have the roads past London, Paris or Berlin, you can try them there!"
It was a serious answer..
In addition, they cost about $135 more from xreal europe than xreal usa.
I have Xreal Air (1) and honestly i think that all of these glasses are really useful for 1-2 scenarios:
- playing computer games
- watching movies
I use glasses with Odin 2 / Ayaneo Geek 1S handhelds and for this usecase, it's actually great. I can be in bed, in the evening, my head, neck are resting and I can play computer games. To be fair, I would play strategy games, with tons of text, especially around the edges - like you said, with version 1, the screen is blurry around the corners. It's hmm frustrating a bit. Why ? Because if you move the glasses, it changes a bit, so you think that maybe if you position your glasses differnetly , put them on the nose loose, or tight that it'll fix - but nope ;)
I wonder, some Viture model has correction, so there's no blurry edges (At least that's what i heard)
ps. good, honest review. if I would buy it for productivity, my laptop or smartphone, I would say that this overall piece of tech is just not good enough.
Thanks for sharing this! I think it’s spot on
have you tried xr elite?
I have not! Would like to!
@@SpencerScottPugh I think that's more of what you're expecting from XReal Air 2 . Would want to see you review it and hear your thoughts
thank you for your honesty - I tried it today and I had much more hope for this too.
I have perfect vision 😂
I wish some functions could be embedded into the glasses itself, without needing the beam, like wireless display technologies like AirPlay DNLA, WiDi... also embedded that ability to simulate 3 displays. I'd honestly be more than happy working those. Like this you can connect to your devices wirelessly, and enjoy. I'd go even further saying that we don't need the speakers, but more battery built into the glasses. Everybody owns some headphones. I'd be using my AirPods Pro. It can isolate sound, and it has pass through.
A fair and honest review. Saved me some money. You're right, it'll just be a screen in front of you.
What is that ring about you mentioned at the beginning of this video?
Ultrahuman Ring Air!
I found the Ultra :D , Its just not on Amazon for some reason, but IS on the xreal website.
@GregK2754 did you notice any lags or delays when using beam connected by wire?
@@ivan9ef Seemed pretty fast, then again I used it mainly to put my map in the upper corner with the beam. Otherwise I connect straight to my phone or computer.
Funny, I work in IT and was looking into these for work wire does not matter, but you answer a lot of questions with having to test and return them if I didn't like them keep it up sir
Thanks brother!
Thanks for this good review! I'm glad I discovered this channel. I'm quite optimistic, it takes alot to put me off a product I like the concept of, so I might buy myself a pair of these 😎
That's awesome! Go for it and let us know what you think of them!
i had these,.... returned them because they are not ready yet, the fact that i have a huuuuge wire hanging from my phone in a day in age where things are streamed is not ogod
Peep those Even Realities G1s
I really liked the idea of having a portable oled screen especially after using VR for a couple of years but for the price (€650 ~ $700 beam included) i can get something much better and higher resolution
Been using my xreal air 2 for about a month.
1. It's not even close to 300" it's more like 120" screen
2. I have 4 different android devices, and it only works with one of them(Samsung with Samsung dex)
Just because your device has USBC doesn't meat it will work.
Doesn't work with my Google Pixel, or my OnePlus brand new phones. Had the get a Samsung Galaxy. You better buy a wireless magnet battery bank because it will drain the your battery in about 3 hours
What about a samsung s20?
Just curious if it would work with it "s20" or the Rayneo's?
This is the most honest review I ever seen in almost all review in youtube, you deserved a sub and like! kodos!
Haha well thanks!
Presentation. If something is of value, you dress it up well. All part of the user experience.
Nice!
AR in general is definitely not there yet. But for gaming on my steam deck this is a dream. Ordered mine and hoping it makes gaming way more comfortable in bed at night
Nice! I bet it will!
THX for being honest and not script reader for companies!!!!!! Respect!
Thanks!!
@@SpencerScottPugh I just ordered mine and I hope I will have better experience then you :O mainly for SIM Racing so as a monitor and not on the go etc... Will be making a video too since there is waay to many script reading ones regarding this topic...
Nice! Let me know when it's published!
hmmm I'm looking for every reason in the world to buy these, but they don't sound quite ready.
Yeah :/ might check out their new model? The “One”? Hoping I can review them!
That being said, it is fun to watch a movie with the Air + Beam in a dark room.
can you try out the new air2 ultras?
I have asked the brand. Waiting on a response!
