Not finished yet with the install, but so far your video is so much more in detail and much easier to understand than everybody elses uploads. Thank you for taking your time to upload this🤗
Halfway through the video and I love every second of it. Detailed and explains every single thing. Beautiful touch with the camera angles to see where everything is located. Will be rewatching this 5 other times until I’m ready to tackle the project, even then I’ll have it handy. Earned my sub. Thanks for the hard work man! Keep it up! You know exactly how noobs feel when they watch these short videos on important installs ! Thanks again!
Amazing video specifically for the 17-20 models. My buddy and I knocked mine out in just under four hours after grasping such an understanding from this video. Highly recommend taking the time to watch this!
i just got my 2020 wrx. just ordered the v3 iag aos. man, as a prior diesel mechanic its so refreshing seeing some one with some skills making this video. every one ive talked to says that this install is super hard. watching this shows that its actually pretty easy and straight forward. 8hrs??? easily less than that for sure! top notch! deff got me as a subscriber!
I wish I had followed this video for my install , went to turn my car on after installing yesterday and I definitely did something wrong , gonna go back at it today and find out what is up but I’ll be using this for reference
Dang man thank you so much for the video! I'm going stage 2 on my wrx and have to take all of this stuff off anyway and now I can knock this out while doing all that.
@@RumbleGarage thanks man my 2019 had a little bit different setup and already had the computer moved so a little different on the install but the coolant line breakdown was super helpful! Took a long ass time since I deleted the egr and tgvs
I did this job today on my 2021..... Took most of the day but a lot of time was spent chasing tools and stuff. A wobble 12mm socket was handy for the charge pipe bolts for example. Proper hose clamp pliers would have been helpful but I didn't have one. I eventually decided to replace a couple of the supplied clamps with standard parts-store clamps just to make re-assembly easier. The IAG instructions have an annoying typo in them. I think it is in Step 96 or 97; they refer to the "hose from Step 84". But they really mean the hose in Step 94. By the way, my car needed a couple washers for the uppermost bolt which attaches the mounting bracket to the side of the strut tower. Otherwise it would have mounted crooked because the mounting surface for the lower bolt sticks out a little.
Did your 21 have the wire loom bracket on the strut tower where they want you to mount it? I'm guessing you just have to pull that off and zip the wires out the way?
Thank you for the detailed video. I got my tool list to want bring home. Doing the install this weekend. Seems easy enough. ALSO I never thought of using cobra pliers to tighten zip ties. My mind is blown!
Awesome tutorial man. Thanks a lot! I’m going to purchase a v3 and it seems as if they only relocated the coolant lines on the AOS. Here’s the description: “The most popular Subaru AOS is now even better! The IAG AOS body is completely redesigned using cast aluminum and features an integrated coolant passage for better heat retention. Additionally, the V3 AOS heating system is upgraded by relocating the coolant lines to the bottom of the body using new swivel fittings, heat sleeving and an integrated coolant bleeder. These heating system upgrades will allow for a cleaner installation and less condensation buildup in colder climates. The new compact body has the same 1-liter capacity as V2, but features a sleeker design and adds removable ORB fittings for greater versatility.” My question is how different would the hoses be compared to the v2 setup? Would it just be both coolant lines coming out of the bottom instead of one from the top and the other from the bottom (v2’s setup)? TIA!
So by far the best install video out there made it look so much simpler. Huge reason why I’ve been putting off this install is because it looked so complicated. Question. I have a 2015 so where would that left over hose go in place of another one?
If I remember correctly. You would use the other hose for your pcv. The newer models use the other. The kit specific to your model will have it provided. 😁 Thank you Soo much for the kind words!! 🙏 Please help and share! Have a a great day! Glad I could help
It is possible to get the link for all stuff that has been use to installed like hoses, 5/8 thread ,brace of aos, L type connector and Y type connector as well please thank you
Have you heard of any complications pertaining to the install of an Aos? Since my install was completed my access port is reading a P0171 code check engine light.
@@RumbleGarage I watched your whole video last night going to do the install today. Wish you had more instal videos for the 2015+ bolt ons. Far superior to anything else I’ve seen. You wouldn’t know how to install Cobbs fuel pressure sensor on the 2017 wrx would ya? Haha
I know this is old so might not get seen: is that mounting location best for all AOSs? I just bought the radium AOS-R, but can't find any good tutorials on its install. Online instructions basically say it just needs to be put somewhere higher than the engine return.
