    Very good info and I'd say fair warning. Two years ago as Jon and Stuart say many Rolex models were selling way above retail, far fewer now. I know you guys trade to make money in every market (it's in the name after all 😊) but Josh's favourite strap line at the height of the madness was "You can't go wrong" and that was the message across the whole grey market so I'm not making a personal dig. Clearly many did. Any comments in hindsight?? I enjoy your content so please don't take this as an attack. Just interested in how you view things looking back and have you modified your plans looking forward??

    • @Watchtrader
      @Watchtrader  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great comment, the response requires some context as to which watch models we’re referring to. If we’re mainly talking about Rolex sports models in steel, if you look at the value over a long period of time, history has shown that they tend to appreciate. We may revisit this topic in a future video. Thanks for watching as always

      @@Watchtrader Reasonable, but how come DD40 Olive white gold was just few months ago one of the hottest in the range and now its RRP range? Its just build up hype and what I am trying to explain why these kind of videos are not fair, they are giving advice based on the current hype which changes in 3,4 months periods of time. Its just not quality and fair advice for anyone who is thinking long term, but anyway buy the watch you like not the watch you will flip.

    • @Watchtrader
      @Watchtrader  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this video is based on the current market prices and what we are buying and selling for at present. We are only giving examples and not advising anybody to do anything. Regarding the white gold olive dial Day-Date, as with any watch, the price is driven by supply and demand. These watches are a luxury purchase and it’s personal preference regarding which model to buy or not.

    A couple of thoughts - notice how this purchasing advice is all about a brand new watch. There is no talk of what’s being offered for older worn pieces. Plus, buy a watch from a Rolex AD and immediately flip it into the grey market for profit… if Rolex find out, and they do, that’s you blacklisted from their system forever. So if you’re going this route make sure it’s a banger!

    Nothing against watchtrader or the lads, but this is everything wrong with the current market you should buy whichever model you want to keep and cherish or just like, not just to buy it and flip it for a profit

      Fair comment, maybe in an ideal world. The reality is that the brands engineer the current situation as it benefits them. Hope you found this video entertaining anyways.

      Totally agree with this comment. I bought a 126333 with silver baton and two tone gold fluted recently. Yes the Wimbledon dial is more ‘desirable’ and the steel only models but I don’t like them as much.

    Perceived value (watch) vs Real Value (gold) i'd rather go for GOLD. but if you are a die-hard collector or watch affecionados then you can't go wrong investing on these watches.

    Excellent.
    It’s so obvious you’re a reputable company, with 3 or 4 salesmen always on duty, plenty of stock, honest about prices and what you can get in and sell etc.
    The other guy from Skipton is such a fraud - tiny shop, all counters no watches. Plus he talks in hypotheticals all the time and his company is obviously a one man band turning over pennies. “All fur coat and no knickers” as we used to say in Cullercoats!
    (… and Whitely Bay 🎶) if you know, you know.
