Half the watches in the diamond district are fake and the other half are used with malfunctions. If you buy a Rolex or high end watch you go to an Authorized Dealer and buy them never worn. Only Authorized Dealers can sell new watches with certification and 5 yr warranty. None of those jewelers on 47th street are authorized dealers. Do your research before you get ripped off buddy.
Jay Medal the day date quick set has 4 crown positions. 1.screwed in. 2. Winding 3. Day-date position which changes both the day and date depending on the direction you turn the crown and 4.time changing position. The watch isn’t broken he just had it in the wrong position.

Paperwork RARELY guarantees authenticity. The case, band and movement are all that matters. A box can be bought on Ebay, a card can be faked, papers can be faked, and frankly, nobody really cares. If you are a watch collector - the boxes and papers begin to add up. Have you seen the box for a Rolex, it is like buying a pair of sneakers. If you have 20 you need a storage unit to house them. In the end, know your stuff, buy more modern ones with safety features that are REALLY HARD to fake (esp. the new 2020's) and go from there. But papers? No, they are useless in making a decision. Ask a REAL jeweler to see the movement. Know what you are looking for, even bring a small scale if you are really a fanatic. Some years you can dial down how much weight of gold was in a bezel, case or band. Knowing that, well, they do not ADD MORE gold to watches, they keep it to very tight tolerances. If it is way too heavy, it is fake, way too light, it is fake. There are also tools out there that will detect if it is 24kt gold, even 18kt gold for about $1000. Most fake watches contain....you got it...ZERO gold. They will fake the movement pretty good, even maybe the crystal pretty well, but the rest is hard to fake - and gold - well, they are not faking REAL gold on a FAKE watch unless they are selling movements as their business. Buy smart, buy from authorized dealers if you want authentic. Sideshow guys like this are going to get your money and you are going to have a green wrist.

got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on AMZWATCH 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
You can set the date by going Clockwise and the day by going Anti-clockwise. Also include the Carat of the gold in your documentry, that qualifies you as a professional Jeweler!
after you unscrew the crown, pull out to first position to wind it, second position is for day/date (one way is for the day, the other way adjust the date) pull out to the third position to adjust time.

I got my first from william barthman jewelers on broadway near fulton st. no worries about authenticity. you could go to 47th st...they have shiny pretty watches and diamonds on display under lights that flatter but unless you have tools that will take off the bracelet and a dealer that will let you do this and look at the serial and model # then you'll always have doubt. unless you have a newer one that has the number under the 6 o clock side that has the number on the rehaut you'll never be 100%

Not all Day-Dates have that double quick-set feature. Older models can set the date only.
