On that same note, Tilly and Tom are both great in the mystery quest crossover they're currently doing! As great as that channel's angora Tom was here as a player, I'd love to see a couple of their regulars here too.
Blair is perfect as the younger sibling sort of character, I love it. The bit with the knife and the candy on the floor was the perfect balance of scary mortal peril and kid's movie hijinks.
It's such a crying shame that Chaosium introduced the "Call of Kid-thulu" concept in The Dare and then proceeded to do nothing with it afterwards. I would love for there to be more official scenarios that used this setup.
The dare isn't official Chaosium! It's on Misk Repository but is independently published. However, if you want more kid-thulu, check out Unland from the Apocalypse Players podcast.
I feel like Chaosium does that a lot. They did the same with Cthulhu dark age and Invictus. It's a shame because I'd love to run an era spanning campaign.
This was one of the Chthulu game where I checked multiple times to see how close to the end we were because I was absolutely certain of the instant demise of all characters. I was surprised we didn’t die at half way through, then again three-quarters, then again one-eighth. Hanging on by a thread 😂😂😂
I love how every game up until now Laurie loses it, and comes running out completely insane with the necronomicon blasting away. But child hood (panicked can't breathe ready to snap since 30 seconds in the house) Laurie is somehow the only one keeping it together. rofl. this one was excellent. glued to the screen.
also, not THAT hot to melt silver. silver melts around 900, the embers in a wood fire can get up between 500-800. i dont think it would liquify completely but you could get it viscous enough to shape in a wood fire. put in some bellows to force oxygen through and casting silver should be pretty easy... for an adult. lol. jewelry metals are pretty soft and melt at low temperature. Iron is where you need a 1500 degrees coal and blast furnaces. also, you better read this! I knew the temperatures off hand in fahrenheit but converted to celsius for you Dom! add it to your DM notes! :D Consider my useless DM information trade for the awesome DM techniques I'm picking up from you. Edit: Also.... the EMBERS get that hot... not the flame. if you want to prevent it just ask where they put the pot. if its in the fire, no go, under the fire works. :) make them know what they are doing!
Considering this was a "kids" adventure, parts of this story were genuinely creepy. If you really want to experience the full horror effect, just close your eyes and listen to the show, especially, late at night, with the lights down low. I'm not saying I pooped myself, but.....
I was super excited about this, but having watched it now, I can't help but have a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe it's because I have an 8-year-old sister (who's 23 years younger than me :D), and the dynamic between Blair and Sully's characters really reminded me of my interactions with her - me having to be the responsible adult, and her being super eager and excited about everything, and just a little bit too brave for her own good :) And at the end, I couldn't help but feel like Dom was a bit too mean with how he played the final encounter - especially the bats and the rats. I also feel like he didn't describe how effective the guys' attacks were being on the witch, in particular the burn damage. I was super surprised that she was on one health. Maybe, as she was eating Sully's character, he could have said that she had boils all over her body, spreading out from the iron poker. To a certain extent, I feel like he wanted to have the two kids eaten alive... But I guess that just goes to show how good the NRB guys are at role playing, that I got so invested in them.
The beginning of this game sounds like the start of a Kids on Bikes module in one of the 2 Strange Adventures model books. I THINK it was in the 2nd book i read.
If I had a nickel for every time a guest's character threw a molotov cocktail at a horrible fleshy boss monster and whiffed completely i'de have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. 😂😂😂

There's something so endearingly funny about an american child going to England exactly once and just... becoming a little english boy.
beware the pipeline
This game was BRUTAL
Also, this is the least goofy character Sully has ever played, which is even better considering the character is 11
Are we sure Ronnie Socks isn't secretly a Stickler?
I can confirm Laurie’s costume gets funnier the longer you watch 😮
😂😂😂
I saw it and couldn't stop thinking of that lil kitten with a flip flop on its head😂
The more you look at it, the more you realise how high above his head the top of it is.
i think it is likely also the warmest based on how he looks by the end of the episode, lol.
May the Oxventure and NRB talent swap never end
Omg I didn't even clock Corazon 😂
On that same note, Tilly and Tom are both great in the mystery quest crossover they're currently doing! As great as that channel's angora Tom was here as a player, I'd love to see a couple of their regulars here too.
Agreed
It's always a joy to behold when they cross over from one channel to another❤.
@@emilyrlnmore like Chuckazön, am I right?
i think this was the earliest dom breaking character we've seen xD
Dom was vicious in terms of sanity this episode
The monster mash breaks us all
Who could deliver that intro without losing it at least a little?
ANDY!!!!! Been hoping for this. Haven't even gotten past the Monster Mash, and I'm so happy.
Dammit, you beat me to the post!! So happy to see him here!
Thank god for Dom. It’s Halloween, and I’ve got 4 hours of this to watch. This should be good, very good.
This is, as always, amazing. Incidentally, the melting point of silver is 962°C, so that’s a pretty good stove they had going there
Ah, the old Andy reaction to sudden danger: Crotch shot
Maximum impact to beans!
Somwhere, in a universe far removed from NRB, Dob feels a sense of approval and respect for someone who looks like, but isn't Corazön.😂😂😂😂😂
This channel is criminally underrated, it hurts to see it, love the show guys! Keep up the amazing work!
I love Kevin's oblivious curiosity xD that certainly won't get him into terrible situations~
I cannot possibly describe how wide I grinned when Dom said the first line. What a start!
This was so stressfully fun, the fact that they're kids makes everything much more horrible and engaging
Blair is perfect as the younger sibling sort of character, I love it. The bit with the knife and the candy on the floor was the perfect balance of scary mortal peril and kid's movie hijinks.
Nice to see Andy (and Chauncy!) make a an appearance on NRB
Lmao could Chauncy really last more than 10s in there?
I didn't realize how much I needed an 80s-90s horror neighborhood kid group RPG
Oooo, Andy's here! This recent visiting between you guys and Oxventure has been an absolute delight!

@@astro5174was just about to recommend Unland! Some trigger warnings are definitely necessary for that scenario though 😬
You can probably run this system with Mr Corbitt as well.
I feel like Chaosium does that a lot. They did the same with Cthulhu dark age and Invictus. It's a shame because I'd love to run an era spanning campaign.
@@crax83 more like "The Haunting", Mr. Corbitt has some really complicated stuff for a kid to find out. Maybe a teenager in their 17/18 yo.
Kids on non-euclidean bikes.
Please continue the Call of Cthulhu series until the day I die, thanks.
I called it after the last episode that there just had to be a Halloween special, hopefully I'll be able to appreciate it in my vodka-fuelled haze
@34:00, that is one of the finest improv interactions that I've ever seen! Bravo! 👏🏽
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL SO MUCH! ❤ Happy All Hallows' Eve, gang! 🎃👻
Me, sitting in my flat in wimbledon on halloween, very scared of the ad premise.
... is your mother's maiden name "Picklegobbler"?
Actually don't answer that - protect your identity!
I was really rooting for Kevin at the end...damn . Fantastic story guys can't wait for the next one.
2 days after halloween, and I'm watching this while nibbling on some of my Halloween Candy. Time well spent.
Lauries outfit keeps catching me and making me laugh and snort ...
YAY!!!! I WAS PRAYING FOR IT DOM! MADE MY HALLOWEEN WITH THIS UPLOAD ❤
This was the best thing that could've happened for Halloween, i literally have not been this happy in months.
This is much spookier than I expected.
Thanks Andy, really funny!
More call of Cthulu, Halloween edition🎉🎉
Lovecraft is very suitable for Halloween.
Watching on Halloween, and as Dom describes lightning and rain starting against the window, it occurs in real life. Let's goooooooo
Had an odd thought today.
"Chaotic Neutral should do a 'Mouse Guard' game, with Blair as a player".
I'd kill to see them play Mouse Guard under any context.
I see Andy got and properly read the naming convention memo.🤣
Excellent game. I admire keepers that can run modules. Thank you.
I love Dom. He's just great.

You’re the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!
The most realistic depiction of American children ever put to screen!
NRB and OX collab is the stuff of legend!!!
They did Laurie dirty with the astronaut helmet.
Just had to say, this absolutely safed my Halloween, since I had to work a late shift and had to cancel all my plans 😢
Watching these videos makes me wish I had a games friend group to play with…I’d love to play Cthulhu
Yessss! I’ve been waiting for CN to do this scenario! 🎉
(…hope you’ll do the Viral someday as well)
I've waited so long to see my proud family name portrayed in a sensitive and respectful way.
[hits play] Oh. Oh, no.
Chauncey has a really nice Chucky costume
How am I 8 mins into the video and giggling like a freaking school boy... 🤣
Seeing Dom's face brings such terrific joy
Dom is ruthless!!!😂
Thanks so much this really helped make Halloween special 🎃👻
This might be Laurie’s best character 🤣🤣🤣
Son of Stickler.
I don’t know, Ivan Brett From The Traitor was really good.

@@TheLionVulture You forgot one thing mate, THE RULE OF COOL!!! Sometimes, you should bend the rules of physichs for the sake of the game.
@@Sirfinchyyy I was erring on the side of the rule of cool.
Pointing out it would indeed work. :D
JFC Laurie's voice, that first line killed me 😂
Andy's character is giving Peter Spankoffski so hard lmao
Americans call paracetamol acetaminophen... although im pretty sure they just call it by the brand name tylenol.
Brilliant stuff through and through!
Just commenting to increase engagement cause I love this channel and it needs to grow
Love the energy Blair is bringing !
Hobies: playing d&d, hanging out with friends, being a criminal ❤
Call of Cthulhu on halloween? This is lovely!! 👻
The background music had me checking for noise in my appartement every five seconds 😂

Yay!! More Call of Cthulu!!!
I felt so sad for the Kolapsable kids... 😢 But what a great and riveting story!
Yay. I was hoping you might be going to do this one.
I admit it, I am Paul of Cthulhu.
aw thank you for the nod to halloween! I live in a country that doesn't celebrate it and I was so sad.

Dom in a damn legend. 🤣🤣🤣
3:00:18 Andy shifts from channeling Dob to channeling Nate Jannson with a shot (from a less impressive weapon) to the spine!!😂
I am so happy right now. Eating my body weight in parma violets and watching you guys is a perfect night.

Off the rails so early on. I love it.

Dare, dare to keep all your love alive. Stan Bush.
Yeeeeeeass! Saving this one for tonight.
Oh Beans! Nate!
More Blair in Call Of Cthulhu please. Big fan of the OX crossovers too.
Engagement for the algorithm
is there going to be season 2 of D&D, I know the Kickstarter didn't meet the goal :(

Rats and bats and cats, oh my!
This scenario was absolutely brutal. Jesus Christ 😳
Amazing experience for halloween. Thank you!
What a wonderful experience. I really need to find a play group!
Man this ad in the beginning got me 😆
Superb as ever
Mezzanine was a new word for me to learn, thanks!
Hold the door... spoilers !!! ... lol... thanks for another great cthulu play thru

What's the green and gold book on the shelf behind Dom?
Let's Go!!!
I love these guys
