    Anytime I listen to these original "radio chattter" videos it always strikes me how calm everyone always seems to be vs Hollywood's yelling and freaking out on the radios during battle scenes.

    My great-grandfather was a paraglider in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division, stationed in Britain, Germany and parts of Poland.
    He helped liberate Wöbbelin , a German concentration camp that was a subcamp of the Neuengamme camp. Although there is footage of it, he is not present in the footage.
    He was not only a hero to so many, he was my hero.
    He gave me my first guitar, which I learned to play on when I was 4 years old, which I still own to this day, it is my workhorse and I will make it famous.
    He was the kindest soul and he lived a good long life, thank you and to all the other TH-camrs who preserve these priceless articles of history!

    My father-in-law was a radio operator during World War II. I did not get to talk to him much - he died shortly after I met him - but on the day of his funeral, my father and I were outside before the Mass service. A man approached us, and we introduced ourselves. He said he served with my FIL, and told us about how my FIL saved 2 men that were shot after reaching a sharp corner on a road in northern France. Not only that, he received a Silver Star. I researched the records, but they were destroyed in the St. Louis records depository fire. We could not believe it. I told my wife, and she was blown away and it helped her grief. What a man. He never told his wife or daughter about it, He was s high school teacher in Chicago for 30+ years.
    What a guy.

After all, if your support can't understand you screaming at the radio then you are going to let your men down in their time of need. In case your wondering why the radio man was calim, well that's simple they're trained to be calmed in situations like this, or at least trained to not yell over the radio, this is so it's as clear as day as to what they want used, and also a bit of professionalism thrown in.

    This has just got to be a training aid for army signallers, nobody has ever spoken like that under fire , ever!
    It's to illustrate voice procedure or VP, notice the careful pronunciation of call signs and phonetic spelling of the tank types and also the fake MG noises.

      This is how you communicate effectively. I call bullshit on the ones saying that radio comms aren't like this in reality. Ever listen to those recordings of the Lancaster bomb crews? They are casually assessing damage and enemy threats while under fire in a pretty normal tone of voice. Comms need to be cool, clear, and concise so everyone knows what's going on. Radio etiquette is important, ESPECIALLY when in a combat scenario. It rarely ends well for radio operators if they're communicating poorly.
      I personally say this interpretation is pretty accurate, although definitely staged.

      No, it’s modern a re-enactment. And yes, fake machine gun fire included. It’s at least ten times too good sound quality to have been live radio singles, coming from different directions recorded on a 1940s tape, with zero interference or changes in sound quality.

    • @davidprice7162
      @davidprice7162 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@theservantofdarkness3557 listen to a live Report from world war too. Radio broadcast are constantly fluctuating and being disturbed and the voices no where near as clear as this due to radio and tape recorder quality in the 1940s. If this is two people in two different locations, with different terrain interference, then the sound quality will be different, and no way tape recorded radio broadcast voiced would be this clear in general.

    I question the authenticity of this recording. The machine gun "sound effect" in the background was obviously added to bolster the credibility of this audio, but it has the opposite effect. Also, perfect radio procedure and no indication of stress in either voice. This is most likely audio from a video game.

      @@KK_on_KK But was it actually recorded DURING the 1940s or 1950s? That's more important here. Lots of shit was scripted back then - that's what propaganda's for. It's still fucking awesome if this is authentic and was ACTUALLY recorded during either World War II or Korea. If it's a modern remake edited heavily to sound vintage, then that's just dumb. If it's legit this is fucking amazing regardless

      @theservantofdarkness3557 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ehhh, bullshit lol.
      While these may be staged, they are re-enacted from real World War II radio transcripts. Sorry to burst your bubble.
      This isn't modern terminology by a long stretch. The use of terms like "Roger" "over" and "out" have been around since the late 19th-very early 20th century. The extended phonetic alphabet used in this video is also identical to the alphabet used in World War II (Able instead of Alpha, Fox instead of Foxtrot). While the audio is staged, the transcript is accurate.

    I just doesn't sound right. Asking for or sending bazooka teams to a location where there are several enemy tanks makes no sense. The unit calling in should already have them. And they wouldn't be yapping about nomenclatures it would be what they are. If they knew what a type 97 was then they definitely would know what the tankettes are. Plus they wouldn't say inbetween hills but actual plots on a map.i think this is fake.

Since we combine a computer with also a studio who are paid to restore old recordings. But also the fact you can hear the difference between their voices. Let's not forget if it's from WW2 it's likely over 75 years old. Many people back then had a high pitched voice. Cause they were young.
