Is that the wide shoulder version that was supposed to be matilda black Prince, but instead was supplied with the normal turret to Australian land forces
Looking forward to seeing her revival, as I’m an ex Tankie. Matilda along with the Churchill is one of my favourite WW2 tanks. Question is she an Australian Matilda as they were the only ones I know of, that had the wadding depths marked on the sides.
@@514thmick With all the internal parts missing, and the difficulty of locating and purchasing a Turret, will this Ole Matilda be restored to her days as it served in WW-II??? Where do the tanks you restore end up? Are they sold, or do you have a collection of tanks in a museum? This will be an interesting restoration project to say the least!!! Cheers from the USA!!!
I think you're a brave man for tackling these things...big and heavy..and a lot of dosh to bring them back to life again..good luck!
Thanks 👍
Will be good watching this being restored.
Excellent, was just thinking of these tanks last week
G'day to you! My Uncle was a driver in one in Nth Africa, all the Best in the road ahead!

Correct ex- Australian
A rare find indeed.
Did it come with the turret, gun and upper plate armor?
Very unlikely...I think this one came from Australia...and most were used as loggers..the first things to go were the turrets..
@@andrewmacdonald4833 It will be a task to find replacements.
No turret yet, looking but unlikely to find one
@@514thmickHeard there's a few in Iraq and Egypt .

Some additional commentary would have been helpful - i.e. what are your plans for this wonderful old beast?
Cheers, read the text on the vid, no plans tell after Normandy
Go to Australia were many farmers still drive WW2 100% original Matildas on their properties.
Is this going for a cosmetic restoration or a full running job ?
We are not sure yet, needs full assessment after Normandy
@@514thmick ah !! Sounds reasonable. If you can't find a turret ,perhaps an Oswald conversion is possible. Just thinking out loud.
Tank you for sharing ....
Happy hunting for bits !! Just subscribed cheers 👍👍👍
Did the Matilda 2 use the same tracks as the Churchill?
Churchill tracks were much wider.
Subbed!
Where’s the turret ? 🔥
