Just got a 2015 FZ1 back in April that came with a Power Commander and a Yoshimura exhaust. My last bike before this was a Harley Night Train. I'm 61 and I love my FZ1 👍👍🍻
Glad to hear you use the back brake to regulate the engine speed while feathering the clutch, you are a natural bike rider. At 73 I still use a VFR 800 & CB 650R. Well done! You will always stay sharp.
I picked up my 2013 a couple years ago…5k original miles and a factual garage kept bike!! Was such a steal! I did have to swap out the original stator due to what happens to that particular model…but all in I’m less than $5500 for mine and it’s an awesome bike!! Also have my ‘03 954rr for when I wanna do the fck round shenanigans but the FZ is so damn comfortable for weekend trips!!
I just got the same bike 6 months ago. I like the riding position way better than my r6. To be honest I wasn't impressed at first, but the more I ride it the more I love it!
I just got my 2007 FZ1S and it's great. Handles really well and has a lot of poke! Cars you pass turn to dots in your mirrors really quickly. Sometimes you don't realise how fast you're going as it's so smooth. I'm lucky. My bike pretty much had one careful owner with full service record, and the stator rotor was already upgraded, which I would have done anyway.
@@harleydavidsontherapy1376 make sure you swap out the Stator's Rotor, the OEM one that came inside the bike is TRASH. Save yourself a ton of work and just do it. Soooo many people have dealt with that horror story including me.
I appreciate you showing off the slow speed maneuvering even not being totally comfortable on the bike. Gives a great view into how these bikes handle, I don't think enough people reviewing think to touch on the slow speed stuff.
You'll get more used to it. I can turn in one lane, but I've had the bike 9 years. Counter weighting the outside rearset peg helps immensely like on any other bike. This FZ1 is capable of VERY nimble maneuvering.
I bought an 08 last summer. Previous owner had done some nice tasteful mods and I picked it up for 4500. I gave her some new shoes and a quieter can but otherwise have just been enjoying it. Fantastic bike, very entertaining!
6:53 I know the feeling. I was on my MT 10 today going 75 on the highway and just did a nice roll on in six gear and within a matter of a second or two I was doing 115. you won’t be doing that on your Harley lol as you said going from 80 to 150 :-) 11:54 neutral, lol is a motorcycle thing. We’ve all done it in fact, I just did it the other day :-) I’m not throwing shade. I just think it’s funny because it’s a motorcycle thing.
Stock 2007 Yamaha fz1 here, bought used at 12000miles for $4500. Now have 22000 m and enjoying the journey. I’ve swapped the air filter done some cosmetic modifications not sure which direction to go next either go +1 up -1 on the chain or get a full ecu flash
Had an 09, traded it for a road star warrior, then sold it and got back a cherry 08 with 17000 miles. Never going back. Make sure you switch out that hand grenade rotor and she’ll never let you down.
I own this beast for 3 months now, my only daily vehicle, can't be happier, the city fuel mileage is kinda bad but it is a 1000cc inline 4 with 150HP-ish...
Have had my 2012 FZ1 for 8 years and discovered this back then. Compared to all the naked standard sitting liter bikes like Kawasaki ZRX1100 and 1200, Suzuki Bandit 1200 and 1250S, Honda Hornet 919, and even Triumph Speed Triple 1050, the Yamaha FZ1 is a better bike. Enjoy! Check out my list of FZ1 Mods below and more to come, I just did a front sprocket drop to 16T and added a Power Commander 5. FZ1 Mods: th-cam.com/play/PLM1U9I2fOqzXYHj4V3tKcV392B_y1E3Cy.html
438 dry weight..not weight..yes 0-60 in 3 secs with a 16t/45 drive train sprocket set up. Also, get a full Ivan's Tune. A true 150 RWHP to wheels with fuel cut eliminator, power commander, modified butterflies, air box mod, BMC/K&N air filter.
I’m loving my 2023MT 10. The FZ 1 is a phenomenal Motorcycle and can be had it’s such a great price.
That’s awesome!!

How does the power commander effect performance?
The Fazer1000 is enough for me, the 2001-2005 model❤love it Frank/Denmark

Slow speed handling adds to overall confidence. In fact I would say slow speed maneuvers are the most important skills.

I have a 2009 that I'm fully restoring but it has a power commander and a full exhaust.

Dude, is there a gun range in your backyard? Lol that sounds like gunshots.
Oooorahhhh!
hooahh
Suchs shame what yamaha had become the old fz still beauty i love them i own the naked fz1 10 loving it
Hey would you recommend to buy a 2008 fz1 for this days?
I definitely would recommend it. Amazing bike.
I like this and the fjr because i want a tourer with shaft drive
Awesome bikes!
can you give an update? still happy?
Sold it actually. Only because had too much in the garage. But I will definitely own one again. I loved that bike.
Keep practicing at slow speeds. Its were we are most likely to wreck and it gets pricey droppin bikes with plastic fairings
🙏
started a cold bike and instatly redline it?
Always gotta have somebody yapping

You're smoking crack if you think that thing is close to 400lb and has 0-60 in 2.5 seconds

450 lbs give or take.
0-60 in under 3 seconds.
