I've heard a lot of Vivaldi's Winter, but Mrs. Cynthia definitely tops the hat. The sparse opening is usually played with too much force, making the violin crunch a lot, but she managed to rope out such power without being too massive on the strings, which is amazing because the clarity and the strength of the music sounds just like the cold itself. Mari's version is totally great, and in art whether it is music or painting one can go into a room and have a favorite painting or artists. There's a subtle factor here which is the baroque violin is really different from the modern violin, as they are separated by three hundred years of development, so in a way it;s like comparing a piano to an electric piano, they are both cool, but they require different techniques. And each performance reveals something interesting about the music. One of the differences is the bow. The baroque bow--and the player--shapes each phrase as an arc instead of sustaining the music lines all the way to the end. This creates a harmonic space for the other instruments in the orchestra to interact with the soloist so it is more of a music conversation than prepared remarks. This also allows for improvisation, which you see in baroque music and in Jazz, but not, typically, in a modern performance. So there are differences.

Vivaldi's Winter is my favourite classic piece by far and now it's getting more famous due to being used in a gacha game. Man we live in strange times.
While some people may not like that others got to know this piece due to a gacha game, I'm glad that, maybe just a few; will get into classical music because of this.
I always thought that Vivaldi's four seasons was iconic though? Though I guess there's gonna be even more views because of Kafka lol. I've always really liked the winter section of this music though, it's intense, dramatic, and passionate, it's a really fitting piece for a character like Kafka, I just didn't expect them to use an actual classical piece for her trailer, though I'm not complaining lol.
@@art.s.0 It always was, however I don't think the "Clasiscal music scene" and the "Addicted mobile gacha game player" has that much overlap. I think my first time I myself realised it was Vivaldi was in John Wick chapter 3, but in my rewatch they've also used Winter in John Wick 2. But yeah Vivaldi has become a pop culture icon because it's a vivid way of high culture that everyone can appreciate in their action scenes, including but not limited to Kafka's trailer. (But really, watch some action movies that have a hint of high culture in it and you'll find Vivaldi in 40% of them, and I'm kinda sick of it myself ngl)

Winter may be the least favorite for you, who is probably a northern guy. For me, who lives in a southern country, I much prefer a 15-20 °C winter rather than a 40 °C summer
There are dozens, if not hundreds, of Vivaldi performances in the wonderful word of TH-cam. However - THIS performance is BY FAR the best in my humble opinion. I listen to this video as well as Summer at least four or five times a day. Such a masterful performance all around. A standing ovation!! Bravo!!! Bravissimoooo! 🙏
A few days before I had turned 5. My parents woke me up out of a sound sleep that cold December evening and bundled me up in a few layers over my pajamas and took me outside for the first snow of the season which was only a few hours old. There, in our back yard on the first evening of winter 1964 was my somewhat eccentric uncle, a 2nd violin in a symphony orchestra holding his violin and he asked me "would you like to hear winter?" I could feel winter, it was cold. I could see winter, the snow was falling. I thought perhaps he meant the sound of the crunching of the snow under my feet. I shrugged my shoulders and so he shrugged his and began to play Winter. Within the first two minutes a crowd had gathered, our neighbors in a two yard radius. It's interesting how the falling of snow on a cold winter's night can magnify sounds. That was the first time I heard winter hearing Winter. Vivaldi was right. It sounds like winter. I can't hear this piece without flashing back to that distant winter evening nearly sixty years ago. Since then I have listened to this piece outdoors in cold weather on the first day of winter played by my uncle and by others.
Wow, what an experience! I wish I had such an eccentric uncle who had such appreciation for the nature that inspired such hearts as to create music that would transport you throughout time and evoke such memory. Extraordinary! Your comment made me happy. As a grandmother your appreciation and experience just inspired me to look for moments and create timeless memories of belonging. Thank you!
It is actually really hard to find a good performance, from which there is also good live recording. Seriously who ever set up the recording and mixed it, did great job. Feels like I'm right at the centre of the performance. You could even feel the basses and cello play.
I really didn't expect Hoyo-mix to remix Vivaldi Winter for Kafka's trailer but not complaining though! This masterful classical piece should be known to even more people outside of classical community

I'm 80 and have enjoyed Vivaldi all my life. I've heard more than a few performances, and own more than a few CD's, but this performance is tops. Both the performers AND the recording are superb!! Thanks all.
You are very welcome.
Absolutely incredible. How blessed are we to have this free on TH-cam??
Enjoy!
Welcome aboard, Trailblazers. Greetings.
I can't help think it's so cool that these individuals look so "everyday", you could encounter one in the checkout line at the grocery and you would never imagine they are amazing musicians.
Right? But it also pisses me off that people like cardi b or Justin bieber are getting all the fame while these people will never be recognized..
Astonishing. Zero mistakes. The woman playing 1st violin is beyond belief -- she appears to be performing the entire suite by memory. Note the flawless ferocity in the allegro non molto & allegro, the phenomenal improvisation in the largo. Just wow.
Perfect. No drama, no silly acts and tragic face expressions. Just pure perfection.
A generation finally got exposed to fine music, well done Hoyomix another win for classical music.
WE LIGHTING THE LIGHTHOUSE EARLY WITH THIS ONE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I told them to light it later, they didn't listen...

Yeah I was like yeah this is the song that I heard in Guts and Blackpowder lol

Che capolavoro, l' Italia a donato al mondo intero i migliori compositori, pittori e scultori. Eravamo dei geni, ora abbiamo Achille Lauro, Fedez e company.
Vivaldi's Winter is my favourite classic piece by far and now it's getting more famous due to being used in a gacha game. Man we live in strange times.
yep lol Im here exactly bc of it. The more I listen the more I want to learn an instrument grah
Basically Kafka has taste on classic music
Does she go by heart? No notes, no book, eyes closed… breathtaking
Divina! Amazing! 🇧🇷🇧🇷💖💖👏👏👏👏
She does :)
8:24 That smile between the soloist and the harpsichordist is epic! I’m not sure what it meant between them, but I’d like to believe it meant “We nailed it!!”. Damn right!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I'm a grown man - and have tears in my eyes... thank you so much for this exquisite rendition and sharing Vivaldi's music with the world!
What a genius was Antonio Vivaldi, and what a magical performance in the dark time. Thank you.
You are very welcome.
Dark time... that is what they told ya
Sólo comparto tu comentario, que mas?
What a Beautifull perfomance
Vivaldi was realy genius, but I think we have dark time now...
Vivaldi: Composes Winter
Ochestra: Performs Winter perfectly
Vivaldi: Now thats what im talkin about
Now that's quite my tempo
LingLing can play as an orchestra, because he can play all instruments at the same time.

Kafka have very good taste in Music indeed
Thank u Hoyo for introducing me to this good music
The first violin is amazing.
Let's appreciate the director's work, he precisely knew when to switch between different cameras and angles.
This is probably the 3rd most metal song I've ever heard
most wood song
So accurately rated
Whats the first 2?
@@hongfeiwei2710 If we are talking about intense melodies, I'd say wintersun Wintermadness and Children of Bodom - kissing the shadows
This is real music. Stuff like this will never get old until the end of space and time
Absolutely. Actual instruments, melodies, just raw music
Truly amazing piece
@@whatzittooyah Agreed
Abhishek Sathe it was composed in a minding of beauty and perfection. At this time, it was so much work to be musician composer. They had many rules to follow to write a symphony , a concerto. Most of these talented men have been known after their death.
I think there’s some interesting things in every kind of music. Even pop music and KPop have some good stuff. I would like to die with Albinoni and I have a playlist for every situation that goes by The best of Mozart, The Weekend, Duran Duran, Stromae, BTS , Eminem, Paolo Conte, France Gall,Mylène Farmer, The Cult, Thomaso Albinoni, Charlotte Cardin, Leo Ferré, New Order, Gilbert Bécaut, Taylor Swift
Almost 300 years later and still goin hard
Winter may be my least favorite season of the year, but this is my favorite season written by vivaldi
Yes you are correct sir.
Is it possible for a human to compose something like this? That was magical, awesome and surreal and great performers, well done
Thank you!
The 1st movement is the most metal thing I've ever heard in classical music so far, symphonic yet intense. I love it
Exactly so amazing humans have been going so hard for hundreds of years they just didn’t have the electricity to play guitars with
dance of the knights :))

Magnífico, de fato.
Salve!
Bravo!
One of my favourite violin pieces.
I can't decide if i like Vivaldi or Bach the most.. they are my all time favourite composers.
Pink Floyd come third.
Well you definitely have a type then. They are both Baroque composers (albeit different styles)
All hail Pink Floyd!
Winter has to be one of my favorite classical music pieces ever, this just sounds amazing! I love it!
This great violinist's name is a metaphor in itself.
Cinthia is another name for the greek godess Artemis, the hunter, always depicted with her bow.
And her last name means free bird.
Cinthia Freivogel, please keep on playing forever.
Mindblowing.

The fact you still reply to comments 8 years after is wonderful. Im starting to progress as a violinist.
We will never never forget Vivaldi’s music !
I can tell you even after 1000 year it will be someone playing and someone listening Vivaldi's works!
I can't count the number of times I've listened to it. Usually I get tired of hearing something repeatedly, but this piece of art makes me love it more every time.

How is this music so powerful.. I’m now 22 and just now getting into this type of music. I grew up listing in to heavy metal. And I’ve never felt this way about music before. Currently sitting in my room at 2am crying because it so beautiful..
I am 16 and I keep listening to classical music for literally hours .. I am so in love with it .. my friends always make fun of me but I don't care ... They will never understand this beauty ♥️
An Trần I’m 14 too,and I have gotten addicted with classical music since the past six months.I even just wear earphones just to listen to this,I mean, classical music just gives that feeling you don’t find in other genres of music
An Trần The difference is that my friends all like classical music, they all learn the piano, while I myself don’t learn any instruments😂.We talk about classical music every week or so
What's funny is that I'm 22 and it's 2am now and I'm listening to this. I've been listening to classical music since 16 and found that it helps me relieve stress. I fall asleep to moonlight sonata and Clair de lune LOL
R.M. That’s one benefit about classical lol,you fall asleep faster XD
