I think we got few thousand from Kafka, much appreciated.
Vivaldi died in poverty and his music was almost forgotten. Centuries later, hundreds of millions of people, of every culture, race, nationality, still listen to his music in utmost admiration
It's true. He did not have financial support at the end.
Vivaldi was priest
Many great artists lived that way, especially the musicians. They endure much suffering in their lives in order to convey emotions in abstract form. Artists eventually embrace their suffering because it is the source of their creation. Beethoven went nuts and deaf after an abusive childhood, Mozart was a gambler alcoholic in debt robbed of a playful childhood, Chopin was bipolar and emotional wreck, and JSB had botched baroque eye surgery that left him blind. Tis the journey of the artist.
bravo one says...never to....late

Isn't this like the best rendition of Vivaldi's Winter here on TH-cam?

I'm 80 and have enjoyed Vivaldi all my life. I've heard more than a few performances, and own more than a few CD's, but this performance is tops. Both the performers AND the recording are superb!! Thanks all.
You are very welcome.
This is probably the 3rd most metal song I've ever heard

So accurately rated
The best part of this was the authentic Baroque instruments, tuning and technique. Without a doubt the best performance of Winter I’ve ever seen
Umm, Ludwig, you're here, this is awkward..
How is it akward

True Art conceals Art. It all seems so easy yet it's brutally difficult. Oh how her violin sings with such joy! She plays like an angel.
As an 18 year old man this is probably the best piece of nonvokal music ive ever heard even tho i dont play a single i felt every movement of the violinist as it were my own huge respect

I have watched this over a 100 times or more. Vivaldi's Winter. Kittens meowing by the fire. A dangerous walk on the ice to gather wood. A classic car chase and perhaps a murder in in the dark of night. The cold revenge of Winter. The music and visuals are so good!
Most of them are playing instruments from the 1700s, and one of the cellos is from 1673. Five years before Vivaldi was even born. We are hearing the same sounds here that they heard back then.
:)
Are they also using baroque technique? I've never seen such bow hold
@@stefanstojadinovic7658 They are :)
actually the sound of an instrument changes with time, thats why old instruments are so expensive, because that sound can only come from veeery old instruments. yes im THAT guy and im fun at partys
Wait, how do you know?
I've heard a lot of Vivaldi's Winter, but Mrs. Cynthia definitely tops the hat. The sparse opening is usually played with too much force, making the violin crunch a lot, but she managed to rope out such power without being too massive on the strings, which is amazing because the clarity and the strength of the music sounds just like the cold itself. It's amazing that she made all the harsh sounds of winter so effortless, while keeping emotions on the warm part of the music. And definitely I bow and commend the final movement where she lets all the emotions out, truly amazing, this is literally (and most probably) the hundred time I repeated this recording already. Thank you VoM for recording this masterpiece!!!
❤

They call this classical for a reason! What a magnificent song!!
Wow that woman in lead really knows what she’s doing, I listened it from few other artists but she’s something special

Totally. Especially the second movement
Winter is the best! My baby moved for the first time in my belly to this song, it was his first response to life❤
Awesome!
I’ve listened to a lot of different versions of Vivaldi’s Winter. And I can’t break it down in musical terms, but IMO this is by far the best version. And it all starts with the soloist Cynthia Miller-Freivogel. Just superb!
Kafka brought me here. She has very good taste in music~
Also, really amazing playing!
Cynthia Freivogel is so fast and accurate. She's one of the best violinists I've ever watched. I've watched this a dozen times and I'm still amazed at her speed and accuracy.
She is really amazing....
Hey there, sorry to interject, i'm a newbie in classical music, and even if this interpretation give me the chills and the tears by his beauty i still prefer Mari Samuelsen's version...i'm i wrong somewhere? I don't understand all the technique behind the violin, it just trigger my soul that's why i love it.
Mari's version is totally great, and in art whether it is music or painting one can go into a room and have a favorite painting or artists. There's a subtle factor here which is the baroque violin is really different from the modern violin, as they are separated by three hundred years of development, so in a way it;s like comparing a piano to an electric piano, they are both cool, but they require different techniques. And each performance reveals something interesting about the music.
One of the differences is the bow. The baroque bow--and the player--shapes each phrase as an arc instead of sustaining the music lines all the way to the end. This creates a harmonic space for the other instruments in the orchestra to interact with the soloist so it is more of a music conversation than prepared remarks. This also allows for improvisation, which you see in baroque music and in Jazz, but not, typically, in a modern performance. So there are differences.
@@VoicesofMusic thank you a lot for all the time you put in this answer and for all the insight, i really appreciate it.
Of course, I mean, we make these videos for you to watch.
This rendition of Winter is something I will never forget. I wish to see it live one day
I’m convinced this is the sound of a manic episode and boy does it warm my soul
I'm a very meat and potatoes kind of guy, working class lad from London. I usually don't get this style of music and culture. But after watching this 73 times over the last 4 days, I have been granted access to a place that I thought I was excluded from. I am so moved and stimulated, so shocked that I 'get it'. Thick poignancy is drenched over me.
after we all walk out of 2020-mode, just find a way to listen it in real. Orchestra in a live-mode are much more impressive.
Dude, you should never feel excluded. Classical music is for all humanity. You're welcomed with open arms.
I also like potato’s and meat and popcorn
Well I do felt the same, I found love in Metal music first and get really onto Classical trough Vivaldi and Beethoven masterpiece 😁
@@bag3lmonst3r72 Thanks mate, I've heard this piece many times growing up, but always felt on the other side of the wall in terms of culture and interest, to really 'feel it'. It feels so natural now, to let it wash over me and without confusion and conflict with embarrassment, to allow me to fully drink it in.
8:24 That smile between the soloist and the harpsichordist is epic! I’m not sure what it meant between them, but I’d like to believe it meant “We nailed it!!”. Damn right!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I attended a violin concert in Venezia .. honouring Vivaldi.. winter has to be one of the most epic musical pieces ever written
im crying how beautiful this piece of art is
We don't have snow in my country, so this is one of the closest things that can describe the season for me.
In my country winter isn't even cold. Actually, it is the hottest season after summer, but this music makes me imagine perfectly something I've never lived

@@sivanrottelman7224 No, it's an archlute. And David Tayler's one is a stunningly beautyful instrument, I might add :)
I would take the lute. Looks more badass.
me thinking this said flute and being hella confused
The band plays absolutely beautifully, the synchronization is admirable.
:)
All the musicians are playing in perfect harmony. I cried again. Happy tears.
I can't help think it's so cool that these individuals look so "everyday", you could encounter one in the checkout line at the grocery and you would never imagine they are amazing musicians.
Right? But it also pisses me off that people like cardi b or Justin bieber are getting all the fame while these people will never be recognized..
Astonishing. Zero mistakes. The woman playing 1st violin is beyond belief -- she appears to be performing the entire suite by memory. Note the flawless ferocity in the allegro non molto & allegro, the phenomenal improvisation in the largo. Just wow.
Without doubt one of the finest pieces of music ever written and performed impeccably. It always confounds me how it is possible for a brain, fingers and timing can synchronise so flawlessly to produce such a wonderous sound - incredible!
agree
I have listened to this over and over again.
This feels like some villian plotting his revenge. And then losing and yet trying again until all the sadness and cruelty of the world stops bothering him anymore.
This just resuccerates a dead soul and then kills it again.
I'm so happy many people are finally listening to vivaldi. Please check out his other peices too. The man was able to portray each season accurately through music
Now that we have passed into the new millennium, I can truly say that at 1:08, Vivaldi has created the best bass drop of the previous millennium.
That was such a good bass drop honestly
And I can also say the most Gen Z profile pictures of all time reside here.
