Thanks so much for the shout out! It was a real delight to meet you both, and at a show where I was essentially flying solo - knowing I could come and linger at the Artis Opus stand was a lifesaver too - really made my Essen trip!
I was browsing my TH-cam subs for something to watch whilst doing adulting chores and there, right before my eager eyes, is a two and a half hour Painting Phase episode... marvelous. 😊 I'd still be happy if these videos were five hours! You guys are one of my absolute favourites, including outside TH-cam like normal TV. Always look forward to more of your content and seeing any combination of you three chattering. I have listened along while painting/modeling before now too, usually the chat show rather than anything where you're painting/doing something as I always watch closely if there's hobby being done.
Unification Day is the actual day Germany became one country again (October 3 1990), the Berlin Wall fell almost a year before that when they opened the border (November 9 1989). Just to clarify. :)
Ross I would suggest James Islington The Will of the Many as a good book to read on holiday. I really enjoyed reading it as a fantasy story which is not a usual setting
It was a wonderful time meeting my favourite guys from the SCROTES podcast at Spiel Essen this year! I shall cherish that signed paint brush case for years to come - K
I'd like to thank you guys for signing my brush set and let me hang around the booth all day(s) It made me feel at home which is so special for one who set foot out of their continent for the first time Hope I'll get to see you guys in my next journey!😊

After some Chat with Ross ( great guy, by the way), I bought some Brushes from Artist Opus so the next Time I enter Golden Demon, I’ll get something more than some Notable Cards… Turns out the Guy who sold me the Brushes had a very nice Scottish accent and now I see the guy on my screen talking about the Hobby 😅 My go to content now when I am in my hobby dungeon - Carry on Chaps
Amazon drivers also had to deal with insane routes and conditions. Not being able to take a piss etc. nonsense was in the news at one point. I still don't understand how tossing packages onto yards or leaving them on porches became a thing...oh wait.
Ross I'd highly recommend the rot and ruin series by Jonathan Marberry, also if you've got kine unlimited try the "First contact" series by Ralts Bloodthorne
1:31:29 Finnish names (and language in general, especially R's and double consonants) are notoriously difficult. :D Love how people just start making up letters and sounds the words don't have in them xD
Loved the insight on Golden demon, but yet another video from creators where middle earth was not mentioned at all. Did the category get pulled and I'm missing it? (Not slating, I'm just genuinely curious as a big mesbg fan)
Pat - no spoliers at all - don't worry that a LOT of the Bequin book doesn't make sense - RE it seeming like there's a lot of retcons/contradictions etc. There isn't, it's all intentional. IIRC, there's a big twist that explains why a lot doesn't make sense.
The biggest issue with GD is that everyone in the community treats it like it's Monte San Savino, Crystal Brush, or any other regular painting competition when GD is a marketing event. GD entries are judged based on whatever markets Warhammer the best. If your piece sells the IP, conforms to GWs ideas about lore and everything, and then lastly, it's painted very well, it can win. Which, just to clarify, is perfectly fine. It's their event, it's about warhammer, they can do whatever the hell they like with it.

Much appreciated thank you 🙂
What? So it wasn’t that thingy from XCom??
The guest judge that you couldn’t remember was Roman Lappat - Slayer sword winner for “the last light”
Haven’t listened during painting but I definitely listen during work and disc golf.
Well said on the raptor eyes. I was operating on the 'certain something i dont know what' and you called it out Geoff!
Madders is exceptional at painting uses all army painter , fanatics and speed paints. Awesome as always boys

Patrick, can you make a video on your mini taking techniques and tricks as discussed around the 25 min mark.
Perfect timing! Just sitting down for a painting session
I wish you put these and your other content out daily! Cheers lads
Excellent timing : needed to listen to something while cooking and boom, a new episode of good vibe podcast! 🎉
How did the cooking go? And what did you cook?
@@thepaintingphase deliciously! It is a green chicken chili, very nice (and a bit spicy !)

That’s so kind for adding us to your watch list. Just trying to figure out which of sold you the brushes, green t-shirt or black?
@ the one with the Green … definitely 😁
Great video as always. Happy to see Bella. Read Ray Bradbury..not 40k but interesting.
Ross' German got so good!
“Gut”! Dont worry, I’ll teach you when we next meet! Hopefully not a 4 year gap next time!
I have you on when painting.
Thanks so much .

Now that I know the Artis Opus booth is where painters go to hang out I'll have to come harass you guys at Adepticon ;)
No more Spotify?
Back soon!
I mean the obvious joke here is: Essen literally translates to "food" ^^ You're welcome!

Funnily enough this comes up in our next chat show.
Awesome. It's a conversation people often start, but then don't really discuss at length so it'll be fun to hear
So, the guy isn't a vegan then.
Breath of fresh air to _finally_ hear something positive and good about Golden Demon rather than just the usual whining from TH-cam celebrities.
