I don't recall if it was this video where Ross rants about 3D printers and ventilation, but please keep pushing this issue. Coming from other hobbies and professional spaces which require ventilation, holy shite is it wild how impractical some 3D printers are for setting up ventilation which leads outside when it would be so easy to have it as a borderline plug n play feature

When mixing with a brush in cup you may have a hair or dry paint pushed up on and blocked exit nossle. Try pulling needle in and out with cleaner while spraying to losen the build up in nossle

I always use at least a 2:1 thinner to Pro-Acryl. It's such a heavily pigmented paint, you'll still get great coverage - and the time it takes to do a second layer is much less than the time to clean out a clog.

Regarding the mixing ratio for Pro Acryl paints, I had the exact same problem as Geoff did. I followed the 1:1 recommendation from Warrick's video and had clogging issues on the Ultra. After some trail and error, I've settled on a rough 1:2 (paint to thinner) ratio, and if that's too thin and runs I'll put one more drop of paint into the mixture. I also found it helpful to drop the PSI a bit from his recommendation. It seemed to be blasting the paint out so forcefully that it was bouncing off the surface.

I completely sympathize on the airbrush learning curve. I know for myself that when I started learning, I was consistently having all sorts of difficulties on account of my paint consistency being too thick. For the majority of my spraying, I tend to use a Badger 105, which is pretty durable and forgiving, if less precise than other brushes. Even there, some paints and materials still are a problem- specifically Stynylrez black primer, which consistently turns into road tar and entirely gums up the works in less than a minute no matter how I thin it..

  • @benfieldhicks7064
    @benfieldhicks7064 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Don Suartos thinning sauce changed the game for me Vallejo thinner and Vallejo flow improver 2 to 1. I started mixing in a cup outside the airbrush which helped until i figured out the paint consistency. Milk. You want it it thinner than you think. I too did the take it apart over and over thing, but it clicked for me.

A few things about kill team, I have the starter here. The learn to play is very well structured, the scenery is actually very impressive, would love GW to make more MDF terrain and I get bored painting the plastic. The playing mat is actually thick card, double sided, not paper. Great video though guys!

Another enjoyable show, I do like this - great for either watching with focus or a background to chores/hobby. :-)
I've just started reading Penitent too, on Kindle though, not an audio book - so I might still be reading this during Sanguinalia at my usual rate.
I often want to dabble with airbrushes but reckon I'd have a similar experience to Geoff. I don't anticipate or expect to be good at it to start with, but it does sound like a lot of faffing around - constant cleaning if you're changing colours, blockages, getting the pressure wrong and splattering a model... nope, sticking with my furry twigs. I think I'd be similar with 3D printing (if time, money and space weren't issues), very glad there's printing services (and friends with 3D printers) out there!
Trench Crusade does look awesome! I've been liking Kirioth's read throughs of lore and exolorations of the model ranges for it.

Regarding those special models: unless GW explicitly says they will be writing game rules in the specific game that I play, then I always assume they will never ever get rules, Legends or otherwise. In fact, even when GW says they are writing rules, I refuse to believe them and just assume GW is lying straight to my face! Until the rules are in my hand, there are no rules and never will be any rules.

I think there is a better, less expensive, introduction to Warhammer 40K. "Combat Arena: Lair of the Beast" 13 models, dice, cards, game board, tokens, ect. 34.99 US/~ 33 EUR / ~ 27 GBP. It is essentially a scaled down version of "Blackstone Fortress". I just found out about it recently, had to sit down for a bit and consider my life choices when finding out that 13 40K models could actually be sold by GW for an extremely reasonable price.

Don't go by ratio. Look at how Angel Giraldez thins his paint. It should run down the side of the cup like SKIM milk. It's more about the consistency of the paint than a recipe. Keep in mind paint that has sat out and evaporated some medium might be thicker and need more thinning. The paint in the cup should still be semi opaque, but it should run down the side of the cup really quickly and thinly.

52:59 So, Fun Fact: The rage Monopoly incites in people is an intended feature, not a bug. It's based on an earlier game called The Landlord's Game.
From the Wikipedia page for The Landlord's Game:
"In 1902 to 1903, Magie designed the game[2] and playtested it in Arden, Delaware.[3] The game was created to be a "practical demonstration of the present system of land grabbing with all its usual outcomes and consequences". She based the game on the economic principles of Georgism, a system proposed by Henry George, with the object of demonstrating how rents enrich property owners and impoverish tenants. She knew that some people could find it hard to understand why this happened and what might be done about it, and she thought that if Georgist ideas were put into the concrete form of a game, they might be easier to demonstrate. Magie also hoped that when played by children the game would provoke their natural suspicion of unfairness, and that they might carry this awareness into adulthood."

Epic encounters was the bargain as it was £20 and it has 20 miniatures in it to paint, I paid by card then forgot, about a week after I got my bank statement and I see the direct sports payment and thought I wasn't in direct sports and nearly called my bank , I carried on looking at my statement and couldn't see the game card payment and worked out the direct sports payment was game

Come on guys, it’s common sense exactly why the magazines all have an extra model.
First value, with no scenery, it makes the magazine saving look more feasible for a sub.
Second, gateway. Yes you have a CP to play those games, but (much like adding premium), you now have extra models - why not carry on and build a full army.
Obviously aren’t going to change the rules to be worse or expect people to turn up with extra models vs others.
