This is actually my first time playing Helldivers, and by god this may be one of my favourite games of the year so far, and it's a hot contest given that Broken Arrow has come out as well and I've sunk MANY hours into that. The level of care and detail that Helldivers has, along with the open approach to how you handle the missions are both great, but the real beauty is the incredible movement and shooting controls. They're actually innovative, and the 'lagging' crosshair and diving combine to create some insane cinematic and fun gameplay experiences. I love this game man.

The ability to steer drop-pods into enemies is something I remember from Battlefield 2142 and it love it so much, it's an great, fun underutilised game feature.
Yeah the only issue is that it usually doesn't kill stuff. I remember that call-ins used to insta-kill anything they landed on, but I've landed on enemies multiple times and they haven't died, which really sucks.
@@Kaiimeiit does instakill, the hitboxes are just much less generous in this game.
Sometimes, but not always. Feels ever so slightly hit or miss, even if you nail the center of a huge charger.@@SneakyLikeASnek

@@niggymonkey TBF, it's not that they didn't test their servers. They are just suffering from success. The expected myabe 100k players. HD1 was usually 10K. They did not expect at all that their servers will almost instantly cap and when they released that emrgency patch boosting cap from 250k to 360k (or 380 can't remember) it was capped again in about 20 minutes.
I see Helldivers learned from the Deep Rock Galactic school of just going balls out on the main concept for maximum fun.

it going 3rd person gave that WWZ and having that DNA of DRG and Vermintide which were isnpired by L4D. made me in overall consider HD2 an amalgamation of the genre.

I have had too little time with this game so far. It is incredibly fun.
Airstrikes are 1/5 of my kills, and one mission I fired over 100 shots per minute, on average. For 30 minutes.
And only like 8 team kills so far!
Edit: Oh! And I got to call my cruiser the "Arbiter of Audacity", which keeps making me giggle.
When the servers work and i don't have a bug that inhibits me it's really fun.
And i feel ya with that team kill

@@einfangirl2351 Yeah, the servers are rough. Though tbf, there seems to be at least 100 000 concurrent players on steam alone every time I've checked, which is a lot.

The reason all these wars keep popping up in the first game is SUPER EARTH refuses to make the insects extinct cuz they produce oil at substanially fast rates, and are activey trying to turn the other two cultures into democracies

I love this game so much. All i want is for Halo to unashamedly copy this gameplay loop in a new ODST game. Imagine how well the halo gunplay and sandbox would fit into it. Call in Pelicans with vehicles, marines, you name it, It would have been everything halo Infinite should have been.
Hopefully it's popular enough so 343i will copy it.

If only it didn't crash every 4 missions. And the servers actually worked on Sunday morning.
But when I get to play, I absolutely LOVE it.
Easiest way to get past the server overload is just spamming a button until you get in - fun fact: If you're playing with at least another player in your friends list and he's in already (or you're in already) you can skip the "queue" and just straight up join in their game, straight up skipping the issue that no new lobby can get created at the moment

On the map you can often find wreckages of old vehicles from Helldivers - not just the mech, so they should be coming soon.
Mechs, I would say yes. But vehicles? If they add that in, they also need to increase the map size and tougher enemies, or else the game gonna be boring very fast, cuz you'll be outrunning every enemies and doing main and optional objectives really fast

Personally i love it, feels like a perfect love letter to Helldivers 1, I just kinda wished they expected the server overload cuz I know they've had a consistent playerbase from launch
Tbf this is the largest Play station game release sells every. 1 million copies between pc and ps5.
Their first game peaked at like 7k concurrent players, I don't think they at all expected to measure their concurrent playerbase for this in significant percentages of a million lol
So, my buddy played Helldivers 1 religiously. He did some research, the first game had an all time high player count of about 6600 players. This weekend, Helldivers 2 hit over 300,000. They had a decent player base before this game but it was never anywhere near the numbers they’re pulling now
I may have been one of those 6600.

Seeing you find that disposable and take down the bile titan was sick over the weekend my friends and I were fighting one and I managed to find a uxo while being chased by it didn’t have enough time to escape the bug or the blast radius got out the words I know what I must do punched it to set it off and saluted before taking myself and that bug out felt fucking glorious
Went out like a true hero of DEMOCRACY.
When in doubt, drop a cluster, then prep a reinforcement.

ive never even thought of how a hub-like Openworld and extraction element would blend well on a co-op horde shooter, on top of the character progression, gameplay variety, and AI Director for its gameplay loop that it already provides. talk about endless replaybility

I was stuck in cryo for 100 years, and almost nothings changed. The Eagle is nice though.
First Raptor, now Rimmy.. The galaxy is saved! ..probably.
The drop theme and the bass from the hell pods entering atmosphere never fails to get me going. And then they double down and the extraction music is even more tense! God I love this game.
15:13 the funny thing here is that the complex strategm modifier actually affects the call in time, NOT the scatter. The 120MM HE barrage is just naturally innacurate like that lol
so, if anything, the modifier actually made it safer to use
pro tips:
1. You'd want to use scout armor against bugs so you can outrun them and faster exploration. Heavy armor is exclusive for E X P A N D I N G FREEDOM to robots. Medium armor is jack of both worlds with wide range of great passives.
2. You can make almost an endless cycle of rockets with two people, first person equip the rocket and supply bag, the second person just need to equip rocket ammo bag, both people should bring supply drop strategem. Really OP synergy for a stand-off and change the theme of "helldivers" into "hellmakers".
Don't sleep on the autocannon for the 'endless boom boom' fun, it's not anti-tank but if you find a kill chute using that 'gunner carries spare ammo' setup things get spicy.
@@Sorain1 Yeah, it is great for taking out bots, me and my team rely on the autocannon and Recoilless when fighting bots. we made it to the 7th difficulty
Armor doesn't work at this moment unfortunately. I can't wait to get some heavy ones once they fix armor ratings

The moment I saw the trailer for this game on steam, I thought that this game looks and sounds really good, the only problem I had was my potato PC, so I couldn’t actually judge, or recommend it. And now that I see this game in action, by one of my favourite TH-camrs, it deeply saddens me that my PC can’t run it, and that I don’t have any friends, but mostly because my PC is a vegetable.
My PC is a veggie too, this game is shockingly easy to run
@@Solace_______bro my PC can’t even run a higher, or a little to big of a map, or if there’s to many particles on Roblox, and it constantly crashes if I mod HOI4 (I can run it on the highest settings unmoded), if I mod it will crash while loading, and if it’s a big mod (millennium dawn) it can blue screen my PC while in the game, if I’m lucky it just maybe crashes the game while I’m playing (yes this happens when I’m playing on lowest settings), and sometimes it blue screens when I open the browser, I don’t know what’s that about (I don’t keep any tabs open)

This feels like they took the entire premise and feel of Starship Troopers, threw in some Terminator, and added Halo ODST troopers with low grade SPARTAN armor, and it might be the most amazing game I've seen so far this year.
Its like Starship Troopers meets Halo ODST's (AKA Hell Divers) - It looks great

I just love how they really want you to dove to the ground to dodge the terminids but all that does is make you even easier for them to unalive
At the intro I imagined it was actors who weren't told they were going to be involved with an actual alien specimen up close and personal. The people making the movie actually released an real life alien at them.
It’s crazy because it gets more fun the more you play it with the unlocks. Man I haven’t played anything else since it came out 🦅!
This will keep me adequately entertained until Dragons Dogma 2 comes out next month.
Been playing this since day one, such a fun game. Honestly just a better looking, over the shoulder version of Helldivers 1 and i love it

Helldivers 2 is one of those few games that managed to make the leap to 3D not only flawlessly, but used the added dimension to add so much to the game. The other game that comes to mind that pulled it off so well is Risk Of Rain 2.
I also love the feel this game has. Like, you’re not playing as just a soldier, you’re playing as a Paladin of Freedom™!

You may have figured this out by now, but the Chargers (The big super heavily armored bugs) if there are two in a charge animation and they crash into eachother they will be stunned for a brief period.
The opening scene where the family is lost, there were two guards walking by...
