- Man the input lag was still awful as always (usually about a half-second to full second between me clicking and my gun actually firing) but holy hell this modded map was awesome, well worth putting up with the network scuff. Was not expecting such a cool gamemode, great voice lines and insane bosses from a mod. It even had a silly little story to tie it all together, it was super fun!

It's a little sad that the halo community has been more competent at developing halo content than 343 themselves recently
You see it in anything that gives the players mod tools. Bethesda games are a prime example. They give you the groundwork, and the players create their own masterpieces.
343 has in its whole development history not done a single competent or even slightly acceptable thing with the franchise. They literally started off by killing the reach multiplayer by editing every single iconic map into generic unliked trash. Literally the first thing they did was cripple the playerbase
It helps when it’s being developed by people who like halo

There were so many more awesome mods, but most of them are broken now :(
RIP to my favorites that no longer work (unless you perform the extremely tedious and painstaking process to downgrade MCC):

3. All of Ruby’s old Rebalanced campaigns
4. Vengeful Vadaam’s Reach: Evolved
5. Zoephie’s Halo 2 overhaul
I could be wrong, but seeing how much activity there was at first compared to now, the halo modding community would be much larger if every little update didn’t break everything and each tool was released at once. So many modders got discouraged because all of their hard work would be for nothing.

@@Espartanica The Flood only works like that on creatures that have complex nervous systems. The Lekgolo worms would more than likely be biomass more than infection forms. So, unfortunately, it cannot happen u.u

Me and my friend have been playing this mod a lot lately and noticed we can play for hours and never get a tank, we get tired of playing it because of this

Well the makers of SPV3 are straight up making their own Halo sequel now with 343's blessing. Can't wait to try it in 8 years.

Fun Fact: the Prophet of Regret’s chair is a vehicle in this mod, it is borderline god tier

It's been ages since I've seen Rimmy have fun with something out of the Mainline Halo Games (even if it's a mod), it was awesome to see!
His joy matched mine on recruiting ai's, I LOVE keeping my dudes alive and stocked in campaign. This seems like it'll be similar to how it felt playing dmc5 coop for the first time

I really thought this would just be regular firefight on Sandtrap. This is so much cooler than that, it’s legitimately amazing.
Rimmy, just so you know, the Lord Miles interpreter thing was a formal codename used on internal paperwork. No dangerous information was being given out.
Also, thanks for playing this mod. I love watching content about it but people just never really covered it enough.

It was a friend who was closely following the original story. I do trust him, and I know a system of formal codenames does exist and would fit into the context of the situation.

@Daniel Bob That is technically what Miles himself said. He only publiclt used the public codename (and may have never learned the real one) he could of course have been making that up.
@DIEGhostfish When he originally gave out the name, he said he had the man's permission to give out the name he was giving out. So either it was a codename or he was deliberately lying and knew that it would put the person in danger. This rules out the possibility that he was just being an idiot. Why would he deliberately put his friend in danger?

This is what firefight always should have been! Boss rounds, random events, reward selections. Its a bit too chaotic with so many mixed factions and era's, but if we got a slightly toned down, more lore friendly version it would be an 11/10.

This is ridiculously impressive. Would definitely watch more videos or streams of this gamemode if you decided to do more. Also hope the mod-devs maybe try their hand at making their own game. A rougelike shooter-rts with friendly NPCS, random waves and unique rewards like this would do pretty good, I imagine. Both for offline or multiplayer.

Firefight was always my favorite gamemode. The gameplay loop of halo and the gun sandbox is so solid that i just wanted to keep playing that.

This is peak Halo modding. The greatest Firefight mod ever created! It's amazing seeing Rimmy give this masterpiece a shot and make a video showcasing it.
I remember the first firefight on reach, I played that shit for HOURS. Non stop. Loved it.
Damn, the new update for Ultimate Firefight looks AWESOME! I need to redownload the chief collection again to get it again.
