Thank you! The pants are hemp pants from Afends! I got them about two years ago so i'm not sure if they still have them or not! What type of clay do you use. Dark terracotta? It is beautiful. And is you glaze a matte finish?
Love the dark clay with the cream glaze!! What model of skutt kiln do you have? I like that size. Trying to figure out what size to get (one day).
Thank you!! I have the skutt km 818!! Love this kiln, but soon I'll be upgrading to a larger skutt kiln since I am producing a lot more pottery now as a small business. The 818 is amazing for hobby or small production use though!!!

What kind of wood are you using to wedge and lay your slabs?

What type of clay is it that you use?
You may want to consider using 9" pre cut round tulle instead of a towel. Or maybe the 12" ones.
May I ask why? I am having trouble with warping with plates made like this so I am curious whether this might help. :)
@@twopeasandapot Towels don't slid as well. or lift out of the mold as easily. But you may not like the slight texture a tule leaves behind. Sometimes I just trim it off.

What glaze are you using?
Your brown plate looks like flour coated flat bread. Very similar texture. I like it.

The part of me that loves throwing on the wheel thinks this is just cheating, but the lazy side of me that wants to find easier methods of making ceramic pieces loves this method of making plates.
I’m a bit of a wheel snob .. but then am constantly amazed what hand building can achieve!

what is the fabric you use? like a thin tea towel?
This fabric is just an old cotton bed sheet cut up into squares! Any smooth thin cotton/canvas fabric works though!
I love the use of dark clay with the cream glaze!! Just dreamy!

I don’t get it. You’re just as clean and tidy when you finished as when you walked in. And after working out such nice pieces. I can never seem to do that.
