nice! I usually adjust the outwer wall speed so it maches the whole print. I wish that Orcaslicer/bambuslicer could have a toggle option for a "uniform" speed option that makes the whole print the exact same speed so we dont have to do "fixes" like this..
Yup, and that's the topic of a previous video. The point here is to *not* have to slow down the primary objects - either to maintain better overall print time or not end up with a very shiny print when that isn't the desired effect (slower almost always means shinier). In this case, I have a whole bunch of different parts in a much larger set and I wanted them all to be printed with roughly the same sheen throughout - bigger ones and smaller ones and such all with the same uniform appearance. If I were to drop outer wall speed across the entire project to do this it'd unnecessarily add many hours to the total print time. This little speed cone adds a few minutes to this one plate and keeps everything uniform 😁
Although I totally agree - a tool similar to adaptive layer height but focused on a weighted averaging of outer wall/top surface linear speed would be pretty useful!
Excellent practical application of the built-in tools available to achieve consistency and uniformity.
Thanks, man! Great tip.
Great tip! I am in a lot of different printing communities and see a lot of videos, and I've never seen someone mention this.
