- In this video I am going over my 5 favourite cycling items from AliExpress. These are all items that I am using on the regular and that I can wholeheartedly recommend! I am not affiliated with any brand and I did not get sponsored for this video in any way.
Items in order of appearance (affiliate links):
1. titanium bottle cage: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_oEjRP2s
2. master link tool: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_m0YvCtO
3. Allen key set: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_mLXIgHm
4. bar tape: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_mq9CYGy
5. TPU inner tube: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_m01tini
Filming gear (affiliate links):
Camera: Fujifilm XH2 (amzn.to/3SvnNsz)
Lens: Viltrox 23mm f1.4 (amzn.to/3SCx4zn)
Mic: Hollyland Lark M1 (amzn.to/3Wvfw9j)
DJI OSMO Action 4 (amzn.to/3SwTCl6)
I would recommend to change steel bolts for titanium (stem, bottle cage, seat tube, disk breaks bolt that holds breaking pads). No rust after regular bike washing plus you save a few gramms.
Your video quality is getting so much better!! Looking forward to whatever is to come!! :)
Hey Aimee, lovely to hear! Thank you so much!!!
In the handle of the master link tool is a Y shape slot. It is almost the right width for removing or tightening valve cores. I only a needed a very few seconds with a tiny file to get the size to perfection. So much better than a separate tiny, easy-to-lose, tool, and it weighs and extra 0 grams.
That is also a cool hack!
and even more to it, it's edge doubles up as tyre lever
Your GP5000 (front) is not well mounted.. 😅
My tpu experience has been poor. Several leaking around the valve stem. Quite a few gone in the bin. Loose about 20psi a week even when not suffering from the aforementioned issue. Still I’ve persisted on my weekend bike. The commuter bike will stay with butyl.
The master link tool seems like a very handy accessory in case the chain snaps during a ride.
Great video! Keep up the good work
Thank you!
I would recommend the alloy ZTTO presta valve caps because they look great, instead of those plastic ones.
Thanks for the tip! I'll have a look at them
You mention not having digital calipers. Mine, 100mm plastic, came from Ali, and are so cheap I buy them four at a time. one in every toolbox.
Good point! I should get those calipers too!
In my experience, the Supacaz lookalike bar tape is pretty bad. Got the cheap 6€ and the more expensive around 17€ and both started to deteriorate after 2 months and didn't feel as good as the real stuff (wich is very expensive tbf)
Becarefull with cycling items from Aliexpress. I bought a suspension seatpost in april 2024. In august, after only four month, the seatpost tube had a complete breakdown. Garanty was only 15 days...
Sunglasses! I already have twenty at home right now! 0.90 cent each!!
Also a great one! Which one did you get?
@@nikinikcc they are called 'seven' glasses. Just look on the search for 'road cycling glasses' when you have a new account and they will be discounted to 90 cent!
Your Front Tire is Installed in the wrong rolling direction ;)
Woopsie
Cool video 👍 thanks for sharing 🙏
Thank you!!
just don't leave bike on direct sun with tpu inner tubes
Oh really? I did not know about this one. What could happen if you did?
@@nikinikcc they blow up. had two rear tires got hole about 5mm in diameter while the bike was parked on direct sun. first i was like wtf just happened. went on bike packing trip las summer, stop at bakery, left bike outside, was around 35C on sun. when i finished eating, flat tire... i thought maybe i went harder over curb but second time 3 months ago went on longer ride also, ant it was hot, not 35 but above 30C on direct sun, went in restaurant to eat, was outside not far from my bike, waiting for food, and just hear tire pop... interesting front tire was ok whole year. so after this trip removed both inner tubes and went tubeless :)
@@enuazealyou must have been at the maximum allowable PSI. I forget what it is but ridenow advertises to not go over a certain psi and that heat does make the pressure go up, but probably left in the car heat not outside hot heat
@@jpoodle nope, pump my tires at ~70psi always, and i dont have car when i ride my bike :)
@@enuazeal the max psi for those tubes is 72 - in thhe heat they likely exceeded that.
Hey nik:)
I also bought your #2,3,and 4. Agreed those items have good quality and very reasonably priced. Also I would recommend HR monitor / Cadence / speed monitors.
Glad you are also having a good experience with those! From which brand do you have your HR monitor?
Purchased a 3d saddle, arrived with defects: Ali rejected my refund request: will never buy from Ali again:caveat emptor.
Sorry to hear you've had a bad experience! What defects did your saddle have?
Prices quoted in Swiss francs? Listening to your pronunciation, your english sounds good. Maybe a vague German cadence? I bet you are from some German-speaking canton in northern CH, am I wrong? And not from Canton Valais, please🙄🙄🙄(where the people, one of the most provincial populations ever known, cannot - doesn't like? - communicate except by using a confused Franco-German dialect, and nobody knows English, in 2024!!! Btw, thank you for the video🙏
Very true! I'm residing in Lucerne
The handle bar tape is thin and not up-to-snuff.. 3rd rate. I am disappointed in you. Deliver the truth, brah...
It is unfortunate that you've had such a disappointing experience with that bar tape but I can only talk about how I am getting along with it and for me it is holding up really well.
1. A nylon bottle cage is about the same weight and is a way cheaper.
2. Completely useless item.
3. Any cheap tool from aliexpress is a garbage.
4. Bar tape - another garbage.
5. Ridenow - had 6 of them for diffetent bikes - better use some latex inner tube or go tubeless. Very unreliable! Very hard to find a hole.
Awesome job saving a few cents. I'm sure the slave labor who made those products really appreciate your support.
Buddy I have bad news for you about capitalism.
And where do you think the name brand products come from? Where do the big brands' profits go? Cheers
