“Rogue One” gaat over een groep onwaarschijnlijke helden die in roerige tijden met elkaar samenwerken om de plannen voor het ultieme vernietigingswapen, de Death Star, te stelen van het oppermachtige Keizerrijk. “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is geregisseerd door Gareth Edwards met acteurs Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen en Forest Whitaker. Met Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur en Simon Emanuel als producent, en John Knoll en Jason McGatlin als uitvoerend producent. I met Donnie Yen and got his autograph last week and I said to him "It's too bad they didn't give you a lightsaber you would have been unstoppable" and he laughed and was like yes indeed.
Imho it's better so, otherwise he would have been just another Jedi, this way his character is more interesting, on the other side beating up stormtroopers with a stick is more badass than cutting them with a lightsabre!

If he had one and it would've been a lightsaber more customized than Darth Maul I think he'd be in big trouble. I think Donnie Yen said in an interview that he couldn't really see in those contact lenses, which means he was doing all this half-blind FOR REAL. Mad respect for that man.
Not to disappoint, but for the time in this action scene where they didn't have close ups, he probably didn't wear the contact lenses.

There is a theory that the empire made their storm trooper blasters weaker cuz of some regulation
the armor does work when they get shot by a blaster it still hurts and incompacitates them but it doesn't kill them
The Unknown Gaming Stormtrooper armour protects you from environmental hazards in general (specialised ones for more extreme environments) and primitive attacks such as sticks and stones. Against blaster fire, it can deflect glancing shots but the main point is to survive a direct hit. That doesn't mean it lets you keep fighting though - a direct hit will most likely take you out for the rest of the battle. In this, stormtrooper armour is indeed better than clone armour: Phase 2 clone armour gives a 40% chance of walking away from the battlefield, while stormtrooper armour has odds of 60%. If you don't survive, it still helps to keep your body in one piece. The outfit is either a life-saver or a body bag.
Still one of the best Star Wars productions ever. Especially after seeing the inconsistencies of kenobi, and the terrible episode 7,8,9 this is classic yet respectfully modern star wars
Out of all the Star Wars movies, the originals, prequels, shows, everything, this was my favorite. IT FEELS like the originals, with an upstart crew against an evil empire, charming cast, but made with modern CGI and better fighting choreography. Rogue One is still my favorite

Okay, I have to say this, because me and my husband were actually talking about this JUST YESTERDAY: Has everyone forgotten that Luke, Han, and Leia were *supposed* to get off the Death Star? The whole idea was that they would lead the Death Star to Yavin, which would have been hard to do if they were all shot in the first 10 minutes of escaping. For contrast, compare the boarding of The Blockade Runner in the beginning of the movie. They take out pretty much the entire crew, with only a few casualties. Now, I know the stuff in the hallway/garbage chute was probably unscripted, but the rest? We're talking about Tarkin here, I have no doubt that within *minutes* of hearing reports of a disturbance, he was plotting. No way would he have left something like that to chance.

At 0:39, Chirrut smacks the Stormtrooper's gun as he's about to fire causing him to hit the trooper behind him. Although the timing does seem just a little bit off.

This movie was a masterpiece honestly one of my all time favorites, i loved everything about it but Chirrut and Vaders halway scene were the highlights of this film much better than the last 3

My dream of an alternate sequel series is that Rey is the child of Cassian and Jyn (who survived) and Chirrut trained Rey as a Force spirit, keeping an eye on her when she is separated from her parents due to Resistance/First Order conflict. Wish they'd given Rey just one scene like this before she left Jakku to make her skills apparent before they gave her a lightsabre! Something a bit more Arya-Stark-in-training. Oh well! Scenes like this are gold and I will cherish every single one!

Gareth Edwards and the writers of Rogue One knew so much more about Star Wars than the jokers writing the sequel trilogy. We've got a guy here who is a guardian of the Whills, a strong Force user who isn't a Jedi. The writers got so much right in this movie and even delved deep into Star Wars lore to pull this character out of the oblivion of material. One of my favorite Force users in Star Wars. It shows that the Jedi and Sith didn't own the Force, there were other people who knew the Force to a deep extent. This guy is blind, for Christ's sake. He doesn't use a lightsaber, just a staff. But he's so strong with the Force that he can literally see and do crazy things. THIS is Disney's path to better movies. Follow these storylines, like Lucas was going to do in his sequel trilogy. A guardian of the Whills, I love it.

i really love this. I love how they show the power of the force and how it works. One must put all its trust in the force. The force is not somethings that u can detect but something u feel. While blind, the force guides him, leds him and helps him succeed in his battle. perfectly encapsulating the lesson Obi was thought Luke in a New Hope. “Your eyes can deceive you, Don’t trust them”
I loved that he did similar things as Luke too,when he shot a ship so it'll crash to the base in Eadu.
