China is a well known Climate Change skeptical country, so it is unlikely they are behind the EV wave. What they are doing, and rightly so, is profiting from it just because China nowadays produces and sell most of the world tech products.
Those paranoias don't benefit US citizens but benefit certain corporations and certain corrupt politicians and bureaucrats.

And that won't work because they'd just fill them with people who are conservative and bias just like they are. It'll be the same thing. Asking irrelevant questions they already know the answers to. The government gives incentives to drive EVs so that we can cut carbon emissions. If everyone drove EVs there would be no need for big oil and gas companies. That's why these representatives are asking such asinine questions because they are owned by the big oil and gas lobbyists. They know or should know the average American can't go plunk for 50k for a brand new EV. These incentives help bare that burden.
Maybe ask those billionaires why they're getting better tax incentives and tax breaks than the ones earning under 50k a year. Or ask these billion and trillion dollarcompanies they they need such tax breaks when they don't need them. Ask why people in Congress got PPP loans forgiveness like Marjorie Taylor Greene to the tune of almost 200k but she opposes Bidens student debt relief plan. Those are far more relevant questions than the ones he's asking.

So, if my broke butt buys a $65K EV I won't be able to use that tax credit because I don't pay but $700 on- average every year. So, that's all I'll save ($700) unless I do something stupid like cash in my IRA before age 59.5 to afford the monthly payment (which the Gov't encourages because they want you dirt poor and dependant on them) to benefit from the $7,500 credit which will probably give me a $9K tax bill (aka: penalty for early IRA Withdrawl) at the end of the year, where I have to hope I can scrape up that extra $2k some way/how or have those armed IRS agents sent after me.
