Nissan have done several revisións of the GTR, stop the nonsense of "is a car from 2009" thats is not real, is like saying that "the 997 is a car from 2004". No, the Porsche is a better car. The drivers are both pro racers and in fast laps in the same car Jason usually just edges it. They've done it many times over the years. They can both do multiple fast laps on the limit in any car.

They are both great cars and in the hands of professional drivers I think the Porsche is faster. I have done many track days in my 2013 GTR. I have never found an average driver in a Porsche Turbo or Turbo S to be consistently quicker when using similar rubber. It is definitely easier to drive the GTR at or close to the limit. The real surprise package in the Porsche stable is the Cayman GT4. Not nearly as fast on a power circuit, but on a pure handling circuit its hard to catch. Its a brilliant car.
I've owned 3 911's & had one remapped which gave me 540 bhp in an 2003 996 turbo. The GT-R's would literally school me. Say what you will, the kudos is in owning a Porsche but beware of the incredible Nissans. They never cease to amaze me & I don't mind telling you I'm a Porsche fanboy.

I own 2 Veyrons...one is tuned by AMG that it churns 1590bhp. But I hate my Veyrons since both always lose to my neighbour's Nissan Skyline R34...750bhp only. He once did 478kmh on Autobahn. I do not lie. Trust me, I have 3 other more hypercars...LaFerrari, P1 & 918.
Maybe I am a hayseed Australian, but why would you have a standing start drag race, a cornering 'g' test, and a 2 lap sprint, on a damp track? All that tells you in which one has the better rubber compound. By all means, have the contest and note the times, but POINT OUT the track is damp. Yes, the conditions may be the same for both, but the effects will not be. This is not really a straight or fair test of which is the better car or the quicker car in any of the 3 tests.
I will ALWAYS prefer the Porsche, but you have to admit it took Porsche lots of years of development to create such a car, Nissan is clearly showing what they are capable of in a significantly shorter period of time, I mean Nissan is not exactly what you call sport´s car maker. Yes they have their GTR´s and Fairladies, but they don´t make a living out of building sports cars

And don't talk about Lexus LFA, that's completely different car (RWD, N/A V10 vs. AWD TT V6). I personally would choose Porsche because I like cars with unique layout, such as flat-six engine in the back. And also it's much lighter than Nissan. Regarding design, GTR looks amazing to me, but 911 too, it doesn't change too much over decades and it's still beautiful. When it comes to engine sound, I would say that Nissan sounds better than 911 Turbo (naturally aspirated 911 GT3 of course is a different thing). So, I would take 911 but that doesn't mean I don't like GTR :-)

Both cars are awesome, and the GTR is best for the price. GTRs have always been so advanced for the time and prooving good driving capabilities, but nowadays its not easy to be more advanced than others. I am a huge Porsche fan, but I adore the GTR of course. It was a bullshit for the last comparison, since they were driving together on the same laps at once. They did not do a separate time attack challenge, where the same driver, drives both cars, having spent some time to get used with each of the cars. They were clearly trying to keep distance on some corners, to avoid crashing into each other, so giving me a winner in the 2 lap race in this case is straight bullshit.
those who think a $50k price difference does not justify the 1 second gap between the 2, let me put this way, in Formula 1 a ONE second gap performance would cost you $50 million or more... so $50k for a second a lap quicker car is a BARGAIN my friends. driven both cars at the track (Las Vegas speedway " dream car rental ") did 5 laps on each, GT-R felt easier to extract performance, indeed, but i would take the 911 Turbo all day if money was no issue. Both go super fast but the 911 feels more special.
For the g force test the GT-R is capable of more g force unlike the Porsche that was pushing wide and got a lower g force . Also would of helped if the guy in the GT-R didn't have the AC on during the race ..
£125000 vs £70000.00. That's a £55000.00 huge difference that is not reflected in the performance. With bang per buck, the Porsche is left way behind. However, long term depreciation may be an interesting factor to consider.
GTRs have kept their value incredibly well, with reputation for reliability and ease of modding. German cars meanwhile.. once they age past the warranty period.. :/
thing is spend 2 or 3k at litchfield imports and the GT-R will kill the porsche, and yes that's all, you can go silly with the GT-R and spend thousands & go 1000bhp + but 3k will get you 650bhp in fact most of them on the road or at least stage 1 or 2 as it's that easy and inexpensive. just my opinion that's all.

Driven both for considerable time, the Porsche is definitely faster and is much more fun, the Nissan was was very fast but a bit numb and a little lacking in soul. Normally I prefer Japanese fast cars but not this time.
Bottom line is do you want to open your garage door in the morning and be see a Porsche or Nissan looking at you, I know what I want to see with my hard earned money.

GTRs have kept their value incredibly well, with reputation for reliability and ease of modding. German cars meanwhile.. once they age past the warranty period.. :/
You can put 10k of that cash into a power boost to get 650+ hp into the gtr.

The race is cool (although without helmets it is dangerous) but where is the lap time for each car separately?
Even being RWD the Porsche had good grip....the GTR is a VFM one but Porsche can do much better with an AWD setup.
thing is spend 2 or 3k at litchfield imports and the GT-R will kill the porsche, and yes that's all, you can go silly with the
GT-R and spend thousands & go 1000bhp + but 3k will get you 650bhp
in fact most of them on the road or at least stage 1 or 2 as it's that easy and inexpensive.

The gtr in a lapping day is quick but not for long the brakes and tires die very quickly because of it's heavy weight
Rarely does a car that costs close to half that of a pricier rival come so, so close in performance.
In reality its probably even since driver skills differ.
A $125000 is absolutely absurd for a portion that doesn't run worth a c*** The driver of the g Tr is just a regular guy that has no idea how to handle that g Tr but it could easily have beaten the. Porsche by probably 1520 car lengths and this entire race. You have to know how the drive them to make them perform. I know because I have one. I have never been beaten by any Porsche in the world and I never will be. The Porche shoulda won this matchup easily judging from other tests/videos, i guess this is more of a test who is the better driver rather than what is the faster car

BrianShaggy074 ikr, but judging from the other comments this might be an older turbo S, also the new Turbo S does 0-60 in 2,8 seconds which is just as fast/faster than a normal GTR so it shouldn't even have a lead in the first place vs current gen Turbo S

Driven both for considerable time, the Porsche is definitely faster and is much more fun, the Nissan was was very fast but a bit numb and a little lacking in soul. Normally I prefer Japanese fast cars but not this time.
