That would explain why we don't see him and when Lance complains about how his brother is treating him like a fool he doesn't mean the one who got killed, but Vic who is now refusing help him. - "...my dead brother's white lady" - When Lance says that he means the cocaine belongs to his brother, but in VCS the cocaine belonged to him not Vic or Pete, so this must mean this is another 20k deal, arranged by his brother and not the 20k from VCS.

@@josecano9210 sounds strange because Diaz didn't seem a very smart guy in the game just hot head and impulsive, lower levels than Catalina, Ryder and LCS antagonists
My headcannon is that Vic sold up his buisnesses (canonically he owned a few), moved out of state, went legit and started a family. He wanted out of the drug buisness and at the end he didn't want to do the deal with Lance. He got out and continued sending money to his family and Louis's baby. Lance layed low and 2 years later started to get the deal set up. Due to the brothers reputation and mainly Lance's poor one he needed someone to portray Vic and convinced Pete to portray Vic so that Sonny would be confident in dealing with them. There's only one tiny little detail that ruins the whole thing - Rockstar confirmed it was Vic who died. But what do they know they only made the game. ;)
Amazing video ! I love VCS and especially Vic Vance. I really like your analysis about the story of the games More content about vcs would be great! Keep it up 🙌
We Really cant blame Vic he wanted more and more than he can chew leading to his death in 1986. My Theory is he have gone to severe depression ever since Louise died and live a life of excess from a disciplined muscular soldier to a shell of his former self. With his excessive lifestyle and Lance being the bad brother tagging along with him lead up to his death in 1986 cause he wanted more. What He could have done in 1984 after all of the sh*t he went through is turn all of his criminal empire to legal businesses like Gas Stations, Apartments, Groceries, Laundromats, Payment centers businesses that people needs and profit gaurantee so that he slowly turn away from his criminal life. Second he should straightened out and be straight forward with disciplining Lance that they are no longer kids and should be more responsible of their actions if he doesnt listen or approve of your action plan send him away since he will be always a snake and a leech of his life, Beat some sense into him and Third with his legal and legitimate businesses going on he can focus on helping and supporting financially Pete and Mary Beth. Once Pete is cured he can ask him to come down to vice city and help him run his legitimate businesses and advise him never follow Lance's path and surely he'll become his next successor once he prove his worth. And Vic could be the father figure alongside Phil to Marybeth since she will grow up without her real parents Vic will give her all of the unconditional love and care as she sees Louise in her. Give Mary Jo a business, Monthly allowance for Marybeth and support her education till she grows up.
You underestimated one thing: coke addiction. He started using it because of the depression, and as Tony Montana and Notorious BIG said "never get high on your own supply"
Well on that I agree, Victor couldn't find a way out of this mess which was caused from Mendez and his brother. Though Victor it seems he lacked a clear vision of what he wanted to do, he didn't want to do this business true but he didn't also use that business in a way to get out, maybe because of his brother. Tommy Vercetti for instance used that and bought legal businesses here and there. But Tommy killed Diaz, the Vance brothers had a good name as errand takers but no more than that. Vic didn't like that business at all and only thought how he could get out of it and Lance was high on cocaine all the time. Vic's merits were nerves of steel, patience, composure, caring, overproctetive but from the other hand his drawbacks were lack of initiatives, lack of thinking for himself because the needs of all the others were above his needs and he placed them above him and lack of motives. Lance on the other hand he is full of initiatives, extremely frivolous though, extremely crazy and over the top aggressive the very exact opposite of Vic as a character. It's sad that Vic was lost that way and Lance would snitch everyone because he wanted it all for himself, he just wasn't strong enough to make something for himself because he is over dependent to the others to set him clean.
10:29 - What Lance doesn't realize is that those 20 keys are EXACTLY the reason Vance would get gunned down by Diaz in Vice City. Lance's impulsiveness fucks up everything for everyone.
Aint no way that’s Vic tho… the dude who dies in the opening has a hispanic accent whereas Vic has an american accent. Even his skin tone is significantly lighter than Vic’s.
The best protagonist ever, I love Victor Vance. He's the 3D universe Niko and he was against drugs but he had to deal to get money for his brother, which he definitely succeeded in the final mission. But i will never forgive Rockstar on how they killed him. At least they could've made him die like a man. I'm a fan of the 'good guy in a bad man's game' kind of protagonists, like Arthur.
To this day, I'm pissed off at Rockstar for confirming Victor was the brother that died at the start of VC. It just uneccessarily complicated the closure of the entire VC story. It would have made more sense if Rockstar came out and confirmed that Pete was the brother that died - Especially as the brother in VC is clearly not the same in appearance, voice, body type and personality as Vic. It seriously made more sense to confirm that Vicntruly did leave the drug/gangster business and Lance managed to convince his other brother Pete to join him on this massive coke sale - It would have fit perfect with Pete being naive and novice to this underworld dealing. Vic Vance is too street smart and instinctive to not feel something was off with that deal. Finally, the brother's name was never mentioned in VC, which means Rockstar were not forced to work around this - They had no reason to confirm the dead brother was Vic. Everything would have fit much better knowing Vic stayed true to his word of leaving the game, whilst Lance suffers the consequencesnof his actions - Through guilt of Pete's death and his own. Great video.
Thank you so much for doing a GTA VCS video, truly the most underrated GTA ever and my most favorite GTA ever. LCS sold 8 million copies the best selling PSP game ever, VCS had half the sales as it came in ints final stage in 2006 and as ps3 arrived people were moving to PS3 games, so it never got the recognition it deserved. Vic's life is so tragic, he never wanted to be a criminal and always wanted out, he was forced into it by Martinez lost his honest army job trying to support his family and sick brother Pete (unlike Niko who was a human trafficker after the war, did awful stuff like killing the innocent charitable lawyer offering jobs who threatened to expose corrupt cop Francis, kidnapped poor Gracie for the diamonds, total hypocrit who says he hates crime does anything for money, and people just fawn over his off screen war story that has zero role in the story except finding Darko, in VCS we get to see the collapse of Vic and raise of him from ashes like a Phoenix still maintaining dignity, he even protected the social service worker Louis put a hit on, he always fought for the innocent and fought bad guys and hated crime but was forced into it and he single handedly took down the entire Mendez cartel and wipped out corrupt people like Forbes and Martinez) and after killing Louis's abusive husband and building his empire he could have had a happy life with her but Lance messed up everything with situations like Forbes and later Mendez brothers and Vic lost his one true love Louis. He avenged it all and wanted to quit crime for good, sadly he got killed 2 years later. He is the real most tragic protagonist in the GTA series. Thank you so much for doing videos on this underrated gem, hope you do more videos related to GTA Vice City Stories and the life of Vic and amazing characters in the game like Reni and Phil Collins himself, and even Gonzalez who reappears in VC how he became so um inactive in 2 years, anyway love you guys, best wishes and please do more VCS contents!
It was truly a pleasure! GTA Vice City Stories is indeed one of the most underrated GTA games out there. The amount of content it has to offer and the great storyline only further show its big value. As for Victor Vance, you're completely right, this guy unlike other protagonists really tried to stay out of this. Even though he had Vice City literally under his knees, Vic still preferred to get out of this place and start a new chapter now that he dealt with all things. See you in the next episodes, man!
They didn't really have an "empire". The "empire building" was something completely optional for the player in-game after all. They weren't like the Vercetti gang or Diaz, being a cartel or mafia. The only product they had at the end of VCS was the Mendez brother's coke which they stashed away overseas and only seemingly accessed right before the events of VC so they could sell it to the Forelli's. I think it's safe to infer after the events of VCS Vic indeed did what he said he'd do and left the criminal world entirely while Lance likely just blew what money he already had from their previous endeavors (both figuratively and literally since we're talking coke). Lance, as we know, was far too incompetent to run anything by himself so I doubt he did anything major, if anything at all and probably just spent his fortune recklessly. I imagine Vic only showed up in the end because he didn't trust Lance to not mess up the deal the colonel brokered and appeared strictly to ensure the deal went smoothly (it was his coke too after all) plus he was likely anxious and relieved to get rid of it since he didn't want anything to do with crime.
Vic's problem is he wanted more and more than he already have enough within his hands. He could have turned his businesses to legitimate ones like Gas Stations, Groceries and apartments then remove Lance from his life. Support and show unconditional fatherly love towards Mary Beth and take care of his brother Pete.
No its in the story itself they got many buildings for their gang, but for sure not every, that would be to big and you can see at how other people react to Vic that he just got a middle class business
I would have been very happy if Victor Vance survived and the Vance Crime Family still existed, but with less power than in Vcs, in 1984 they controlled all of Vice City, in 1986 they would only control Vice Beach, from Ocean Beach to Vice Point (except for the part controlled by the Sharks).
Vic from the start of the game had his life set out to be a straight way to make money that he could be proud of too. Lance, Martinez, Mendez, and even Louise to a degree pulling him into the world of crime. Niko and Vic are similar characters in many ways, though Niko never had a great chance to earn an honest career for himself until the end of the game. Vic is just constantly getting screwed by everyone around him.
I feel like that shouldn't have been Victor that died at the beginning of vice city that should have been his brother Pete and Victor should have left Vice City sometime after 1984
@@GreenEagle-p7zDid they even say why? Cuz after seeing Vic talking over businesses around the town and killing the Mendez's brothers and the sergent Martinez all in his own, the way he died was kinda ridiculous
What I think is taking over other gang business is not common to the story of VCS, apart from maybe taking over Cholos business. Bikers are also presented in VC, so Vic might have killed some number of bikers during VCS, but he definitely didn't take their business over
Empire building is canon, the Sharks from VCS are big time players and run a ton of rackets and businesses and two years later they ended up losing all their ventures and turned into the pathetic Streetwannabes since Vic smoked them so hard and the BIkers have also lost a massive amount of business and influence in-between VCS and VC as well
@@xPsykho Agreed. I forgot about Sharks. Generally, I can't remember all the details about the gangs and activities that Vic did in VCS, since I've played that game many many years ago. But yes, Sharks did lost all the power and Bikers lost significant amount of influence after VCS
@@porukasaposvetom8904 Yup, I don’t blame you for not remembering because tbf I haven’t played VCS for a long time either and it doesn’t help it isn’t widely accessible as the rest of the games are and I got brought back up to speed with this video but you can get a good idea of the kinda damage Vic did to the Sharks & The Bikers by seeing how weak and powerless they are (Sharks more so) when Tommy steps into town in 1986 and deals the Sharks one last final blow by killing their leader for Diaz in the helicopter mission with Lance
I remember lance saying Ricardo Diaz killed he's brother in Tommy's vice city version and then he wanted revenge that's why Tommy and lance killed Diaz

I really enjoyed Vice City Stories, but just like LCS they were unplanned precuels, with plot holes and forced decisions to reference the original games that makes no sense, so I really dont consider them 100% canon
Hmm, I wouldn't call these GTA Stories unplanned prequels, to be honest. At least not like that because I've never heard any source where Rockstar stated that they were unplanned. Well, unless you have some information. So yeah, I basically consider them still 100% canon even though they have some lore inconsistency.
in the drug business, it can only end 2 ways the 1st if you have a strong family with strong connections then you can still stand on your feet 2nd if you weren't as strong and didn't have connections then you'll just be having cement shoes Victor isn't strong but he does have small connections but it wasn't enough Vic could fit well with the ghetto lifestyle more than being a big Playa
In GTA: VC, Vic was half-black half-Colombian while Lance was just black which let us know they were only half-brothers on their dad's side. In GTA: VCS, both Vic and Lance are just black. In GTA: VCS, both Vic and Lance left Miami and retired. In GTA: VC, they were both Vic and Lance were still dealing drugs but, like Tommy, were new to Miami. The final product of GTA: VC makes GTA: VCS impossible thus noncanon.
Not necessarily. They just retconned some things to "make it fit". Also we literally see their white mom in VCS, so they weren't just black there either.
No. They created contradictions. The white mom is a perfect example of that. You can tell the writing was half-assed because they were too with GTA 4 to worry about consistency with either GTA: LCS or GTA: VCS which is just as well because GTA 4 is a masterpiece 2nd only to GTA: SA.
I like to see things as they are not how you wish they were. GTA: VC made it clear Vic was content as a coke dealer. GTA: VCS would have us believe Vic never wanted that kind of life in the 1st place.
@@miguelpasamano4995Vic likely gave in to his desire for money and was happy to make a deal to set his family up for life. The whole Colombian accent though is indeed very inconsistent. Vic and Lance likely did lay low for a while but returned for one last deal. Additionally Lance appears far angrier at Diaz than he should, because Diaz has betrayed him and his brother. Vic set him up for life and Diaz had him killed. Lance was understandably enraged by that. Additionally Lance did seem to be familiar with Vice City, and Diaz did seem to know him from before.
I personally thought that the feds raided and RICO’d the businesses in 1985. Because they were Vic’s businesses, he was being indicted so he had to leave the country. Lance wasn’t listed for the charges, but he still wanted to help Vic. The ‘86 deal was going to be one last score, Tommy had $2 million for them, and they had the product he needed to get started. Just my theory.
@@tobyalder42 It's obvious that Vic was the brains and with him giving up crime Lance made one mistake after another. To be hones I'm surprised he even lived until Vice City.
Yeah, this guy is very emotionally unstable... It's quite disappointing cause if Lance decided to act more maturely, nobody would treat him like a little kid which angered him a lot, really ironic.
Don't forget Vic becoming a hunchback and gaining an accent over two years 🙄 They could have changed his model or retconned it to be Pete in the new version but didn't do either 🙄
The main villain in this story is LANCE VANCE. All his deals in VCS and VC had gone wrong Vic won't be dead if wasn't been for Lance's arrogance and greediness. All he did in VCS just for himself not for his brother Pete and Vic. And in VC all he wanted just be on TOP. I don't believe in his revenge thing for his brother.
Lance probably tipped off whoever sabotaged the handoff in the beginning of VC. He makes Vic get out of the helicopter to give then a clear shot. He was mad that Vic wanted out.
I still think that an empire this huge can't just collapse in one day, Lance (or others like Phil) should still had access to some money and men at least for a few days, giving Tommy some menpower and money to start easily, in VCS we can receive up to 50k per day with all the businesses, considering it must had expend and that two years have passed before Vice City events, Lance should have access to at least enough money to easily refund Tommy for the broken deal, leaving him only with the drug problem for Sunny. Not to mention that Vic was a smart guy, I can't see him not planning in advance and putting some men in charge in case things go wrong... not Lance because even him saw him as an idiot but still. And let's not forget he was completly against drugs himself so I hardly see him give in and become a junky, when you have an Empire this huge, no need to taste product yourself, you can buy qualified people to do so instead. Making Vic looking like he's under influence of drugs at the begining of Vice City illogical. I also can't see them having loss all their businesses because this kind of thing is like a pipeline, you build the pipes and start the machine yourself but once its done, it feeds itself alone witout any intervention, and that's what we do in VCS, at the end, the empire can prosper alone and generate money for Vic to collect each day. So in short, even with Lance stupidity to buy expensive and useless stuff, the Lance brothers shouldn't loss all that in less than two years. If they were really affraid of Diaz, all they had to do is see him before the deal and explain to him that no intention of hurting his own bussiness are intended, maybe even promise him a cut of the money to be safe. Diaz is a dangerous and unpredictable man, but I'm sure that since he worked with the brothers before, he wouldn't had said no to some easy money. (Is it a bit obvious I try to deny the canon here? But to be fair, VCS came after Vice City so highly probable that if devs knew back then they would had made Vic different in the Vice City intro, maybe even make it survive to give us some access to his empire assets before working hand in hand with Tommy, maybe even die at the end but with a death more fitting for him, like being killed by Sunny (or Lance) and then give all his own empire assets to Tommy for being a good friend and helper through the end, making Tommy the only owner of the city)
They should have brought this to the PS4 along with Liberty City Stories when they did the GTA Definitive Editions. Both games are very underrated in my opinion.
11:00 Ya know,my head canon sometimes because I refuse to think vic died is that maybe at some point during the.... 2 years(?) before the events of vice city happened, vic managed to get Pete back on his feet and then he managed to leave the criminal life and because Lance was such a fucking moron in both running shit and persuasion via guilt tripping,I think he talked Pete into taking over vic's role in the operation and got killed But as it's been confirmed that sadly it was vic But aye, head cannons are fun to make,no?
Hey man, I don't know if you have done it or not, can you make a top 5 or top 10 about the mission we do but the pay is not worth the mission we complete? All series of gta game missions. And give your an opinion on why the wages are not worth it.
Well it’s kinda realistic in that way. Real life crime bosses don’t get an epic last showdown like in scarface either. but also just get killed randomly.
I don't think they already had Vic Vance in mind as a main character during the making of Vice City. They likely took this character and worked back from there.
In My opinion, I think vance brother who died during Vice City intro is Pete. Since Vic said during "Last Stand" He wouldn't come back to diaz and crime business. Even Rockstar said different, I think they only gave mocking respon so fans would be driven crazy.
But after the end of vice City stories mostly persons considers that lance vance somehow convince victor vance to come back in vice city for another last drugs dealing which would happen between vance brothers and tommy vercetti so according to many persons by this reason that's why he was victor vance not pete vance.
@@SupportGamin2024it's pretty much what he said though. Rockstar doesn't care about vic, or gta vc for that matter. They just said the killed brother was vic for more dramatic effect.
That sounds like a very tempting theory, ngl! However, a long time ago Rockstar has already confirmed that it was Victor Vance who died in the failed drug deal in Viceport in 1986, so this theory sadly can be ruled out.
Lance made Victor into a cocaine addict which lead to their business falling apart and them deciding to do business with the Forelli to keep it afloat but being betrayed by Diaz, things went south and Victor (who looked high even during the deal) was killed.

This topic is on the list, but unfortunately, it would be really hard to make a video out of it, at least at this point. However, there are a few other minor characters who contributed more to the story and they will be covered in the future for sure.
@pellaeonEU his third brother had some picture in gta sa and the vance Brothers are three brothers Lance vic and the other one and the third is alive in gta sa events so the one who killed is victor vance
Yeah, it's really bad but I believe it's Take-Two who is to blame actually. This mother company is behind all the choices, I don't think it's Rockstar's fault...
Since vic was very out on drugs. It's probably not vic who got gun down on the opening of gta VC and the one with a Columbian accent it's probably like lee Vitout or some look alike gang member of the vic crime family
Imo after vcs vic should have left for liberty city in stuanton island or shoreside vale . Let pete and lance continue the drug trade . But nope vic continued to deal drugs .

Either than or he felt betrayed that Vic although influenced by Lance’s ambitions and Louise’s death went back on his word to stay out of the game and possibly even Vice City wanted to eliminate the Vance brothers as potential competitors however why would Diaz use Lance to do his dirty work with Tommy

Amazing video !
I love VCS and especially Vic Vance.
I really like your analysis about the story of the games
More content about vcs would be great!
I always thought Vic died during the intro scene in Vice City. Not that Lance didn't have other brothers.
He did
Lance had 2 brothers. One was suffering from illness and the other one was lance
Lance was in that Helicopter

@@gaminginvestigators Thank you very much, keep up the amazing contents and help people realize what a masterpiece VCS was.
Support and show unconditional fatherly love towards Mary Beth and take care of his brother Pete.
not completely optional though, you needed some assets to progress the story
No its in the story itself they got many buildings for their gang, but for sure not every, that would be to big and you can see at how other people react to Vic that he just got a middle class business
I still refused that Vic Vance has dead.
I can't believe it too
Refuse all you want...he died at that deal with Tommy.....and that is cannon..... accept it
"This iss the last dance for lance vance"
Pete would’ve been coughing if he did the deal, so I knew it was Vic who died.
If Diaz knew both, why did he call Lance Quintin in VC?
in vcs he did too lance tried to be undercover
Dead
Lance still used the name 'Quentin' when he and Diaz first met in Vice City Stories.
Victor's death was largely blamed on his damn brother Lance.
Goddang agree. Hell the way vic change in VC, i think lance drugged him and force him to snort a yay.
I feel like that shouldn't have been Victor that died at the beginning of vice city that should have been his brother Pete and Victor should have left Vice City sometime after 1984
His other brother has a picture in gta san andreas
And Rockstar said the dead brother is vic vance

And not just for them but for the whole entire Vice City and that is...
The ablity to swim
Nah just kidding Great vid again man
Haha, you almost got me there! Well, luckily Victor learned how to swim unlike Tommy and the rest of Vice City citizens...
I really enjoyed Vice City Stories, but just like LCS they were unplanned precuels, with plot holes and forced decisions to reference the original games that makes no sense, so I really dont consider them 100% canon
Bro, Lcs is 100% canon.
There is no problem with the connection.
I am sure Lance said something to Vic before his last deal like "Its completely safe. Easy money, trust me brother"
Victor clearly wanted an our from this lifestyle but in the end Lance got his brother killed
Both LCS & VCS needs a remaster, SA is the Goat but its been remastered like a million times, and the end of the day its still the same game.
VCS have best soundtrack on all GTA game,80s is never better lisen on this game.
in the drug business, it can only end 2 ways
the 1st if you have a strong family with strong connections then you can still stand on your feet
2nd if you weren't as strong and didn't have connections then you'll just be having cement shoes
Victor isn't strong but he does have small connections but it wasn't enough
Vic could fit well with the ghetto lifestyle more than being a big Playa
I like to think Vic was trying to be like Ricardo Diaz because he low key was dressed like Diaz and talking like him just more calm.
I think all that went to Diaz in order to repay him. Something about Lance borrowing from Diaz.
"He killed my brother".
What if it was Pete?
I personally thought that the feds raided and RICO’d the businesses in 1985. Because they were Vic’s businesses, he was being indicted so he had to leave the country. Lance wasn’t listed for the charges, but he still wanted to help Vic. The ‘86 deal was going to be one last score, Tommy had $2 million for them, and they had the product he needed to get started. Just my theory.
Because the developers wrote VCS well after VC was done and thus couldn't match all the plot details
The plot makes perfect sense if the Vance who dies and the beginning of VC is Pete.
@@AndreiPopescu It makes a better sense, I agree, but it would be still strange for such a prominent empire to disappear without a trace
@@tobyalder42 It's obvious that Vic was the brains and with him giving up crime Lance made one mistake after another. To be hones I'm surprised he even lived until Vice City.

Lance is to emotional to run anything he's a joke and he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer
Yeah, this guy is very emotionally unstable... It's quite disappointing cause if Lance decided to act more maturely, nobody would treat him like a little kid which angered him a lot, really ironic.
Don't forget Vic becoming a hunchback and gaining an accent over two years 🙄
They could have changed his model or retconned it to be Pete in the new version but didn't do either 🙄
@@metasteelgaming4373or what’s worse, lance already drug vic and force him to snort a yay
But to be fair, VCS came after Vice City so highly probable that if devs knew back then they would had made Vic different in the Vice City intro, maybe even make it survive to give us some access to his empire assets before working hand in hand with Tommy, maybe even die at the end but with a death more fitting for him, like being killed by Sunny (or Lance) and then give all his own empire assets to Tommy for being a good friend and helper through the end, making Tommy the only owner of the city)
whats the name of the song on the background?
vic aged 10years in 2years lmao
They should have brought this to the PS4 along with Liberty City Stories when they did the GTA Definitive Editions. Both games are very underrated in my opinion.
