- My first retrospective and I chose one of the more hefty games to do it on.
Vice City has always been my favorite Grand theft auto game, the perfect blend of chaos and atmosphere. Vicecity stories on the other hand have been one of the "unobtainables" As a kid I never thought id get a chance to play this, especially back in 2006 when I wasn't even aware the PSP had bangers like this. But thanks to emulation we can finally take a look at what quickly became my favorite GTA game! So join me in this bombastic retrospective through the neon soaks streets of vice city.
Had some major issues with crashes but thats my fault for recording at the highest quality on obs. lesson learned, so sorry if there are any sound issues, it was getting impossible to edit toward the end.

VCS is imo, the best gta ever made. Sa and gta 4 are usually ranked highest, but im not a big cj fan and find sa to be written very poorly with it losing the plot after leaving los santos in the beginning and only remembering it towards the end when it suddenly remember and wraps everything up. Sa is also so much padding and filler imo. Gta 4 is great but its so slow in so many places and so long that it really drags on repeat playthroughs. vcs is the pinnacle of gta to me, and vic as a protagonist is tied with toni behind tommy in my top 3 protags
I couldn't agree more VCS feels some much tighter with its story, I still think sanandress is amazing for just how big the world is and everything it did with it, but the middle act Definity felt a little aimless! it sucks that VCS was such a hard game to get your hands on! so a lot of people didn't get to experience one of the best 3d gta entries!
@@ARFed I also found the story to have the seriousness, the loss, the tragedy that I see as a prototype for what gta 4 would dive deep into. But it balanced that out with going even more over the top 80s than even vice city did, and that's an impressive task.
I thought the map was better, more accessible, with more detail and neon, and opinions aside, VCS skybox is the most beautiful and colorful of any gta, while it has its bright blues, it often has vibrant shades of burning orange, pink, and purple, that flood the world with atmosphere.
@@emceenati1497RIGHT? Rockstar was really starting to focus their writing and I could actively tell they were trying! I am really gonna miss that '80s vibe from GTA 6 but I'm so excited to see what we get. Thanks for the insight brother!
Gta 4 is boring as shit compared to vcs

The probable reason why Vic later involved in his last drug deal in 1986 GTA VC is because of his younger brother Pete asthma treatment (US healthcare) not necessarily because of Lance. His brother Pete is the whole reason why he had to help martinez and later involve in drug dealing in the first place
I didn't think about that!!! that would explain why he came back, still I hate that they killed him off hahaha
I remember getting vcs and lcs in one package with my psp, and i think its very underrated, the fact that it was released by the end of the ps2's life cycle and people getting hyped up for gta 4, it got forgotten overtime, the story was amazing and the business empire was a great improvement, sure it was ridiculously hard but at the end of the day its still one of the greatest gta games alongside san andreas and gta 4

Great video I agree with everything GTAVCS is definitely the most underrated gta. I like all gta games except gta 1, gta 2, gta london, gta advanced and chinatown, these games from a bird's eye view just didn't catch me much, but other than that I'm a gta sucker. Gta vcs is the last gta I played before gta 6 and I bought a playstation 2 just to play gtalcs and gtavcs and I have to say that gtavcs surprised me the most gta vcs is as good as Gta vice city and Gta San andreas and it's a real shame that not many people played this game Jerry Martinez is my favorite villain from the gta series I would say he is even a little bit better than Tempenny definitely more hilarious. Only complaint about this video Phil Cassidy doesn't appear in every gta from 3d universe because he's not in GTA San Andreas
Thanks brother! I’m glad I’m not the only one who was surprised at just how much of a gem vice city stories is! I can’t believe rockstar left it an exclusive, the fun I could have had as a kid hahahah😭 and omg you’re absolutely right Cassidy wasn’t in San Andreas! he was even mentioned in manhunt so it was missed opportunity if ask me hahaha!
2nd best gta of all time, right behind san andreas.
for real, I go back and forth between these two as best game! but GTA San address always comes out on top

You got it! it was a PSP exclusive for like a year, then it got a ps2 release. At that pouring I’m pretty sure I had an Xbox 360 so I missed out

If they didn't made this for the PSP at first, it will be more sucessful. The PSP port is horrible next to the PS2 port. It has way more bugs... The VCS could be the best GTA alongside with the GTA SA. I really needed just a few features from the GTA SA, like the fast food restaurants, and the character skills. That would be cool, if you can became fat.
@@adamtm8255 I just started emulating for the psp and you’re absolutely right, I don’t realize how simplified the controls where for the psp port! I’m lucky I played the ps2 version first, I’m surprised they didn’t implement more things from San Andress, but what they did was awesome 😮💨
As well getting the option to take Louise on dates sometimes too
