I'm 76. My Dad passed away 10 years ago at age 88, and for some reason he would never let me play this song in his presence while growing up. On his last day, mom told me what he made her promise : this song had been sung at his little brother's funeral.. Jimmy was 27, and Dad was 29. They were so close, Dad just couldn't hear these lyrics again, even though the song is so wonderful.
God has both of them now, so I hope they understand why I love it so, and play it in their honor today.

Some people believe it’s their plight in life to make miserable EVERYONE with whom they disagree! It’s been said that misery loves company, so they look for confirmation of their existence by disagreeing with people who are too nice and polite to tell them just how little they matter to them and everyone else! They live an extremely sad and depressing life, and you can be sure there’ll be no chapel bells ringing nor any congregation singing when they pass away!

Going to church alone does not save your Soul. You have to totally Surrender your entire Life to the Lord Jesus Christ and continue on. Not just a day or 2 but everyday. It's not easy but it's simple and I need everyone to pray for me cause it's not easy. God bless you all.

Was at their concert yesterday evening at Hoosier Harvest Church in Martinsville, IN. Loved 'em! While they didn't sing this song at the concert, this brought back memories from many years ago. I was a little boy and my name was "Jimmy". When that song would play on my aunt's radio, she would sing it to me and make me smile. I'm 66 now.💗💗🙏🙏💗💗

I knew the author of the original song "Les 3 Cloches, written in 1939." Jean Villard aka Gilles. In my childhood (1950s), he came (with his duettist Urfer) in the bookstore-printing (Lausanne, Switzerland) of my father who played the accordion and the harmonica and we all sang together ... This song always makes me cry ...

This is one of the very most powerful songs that ssd's ums up life from Joyfu to Happy to Bittersweet sadnes and encouragement at the same time. Depending on the events at different times in life it's effect on me ranges from "I cant wait to enjoy this song" to "I love this song but I just can't hear it today".
A great beautiful song is sometimes like a rose; Sometimes all you get is the awesome beauty and aroma and other times the thorns just seem to stick you everywhere.
Still, I love this song. The Browns surely must have been inspired from true life events in the writing of such a song.

What a beautiful performance of this song so well known by "The Browns". I can honestly comment that this will remain to be my favorite version of this timeless classic. Having listened to many versions by various artist this has got to be best one yet. With giving all due respect to Edith Piaf & Les Compagnons whom did the first & the original of this song before The Browns released it I feel this recording would top theirs... You have obviously not heard any of the versions by The Browns. They made this song famous in the U.S., and for good reason. Their version is still the best.
In 1959 this song came out from the Browns.
But this Isaac's rendition almost compliments it.

This song, originally named "les trois cloches" was written by a swiss singer, named Jean Villars Gilles. The song was later covered by a friend of his : Edith Piaf, who popularised it in France. She then made an english translation of it, which was also covered by many singers, such as ray charles, and the singers you are currently listening to.

What a lovely performance - I might give up my passionate atheism if all religious stuff was like this.
Was an agnostic for my first 25 years. It seemed to me that if there was a judgement of each soul, I would tell the Infinite One : "I saw so many famous religious leaders and laymen desecrating Your Holy Name so I figured there was nothing to "religion". And G-D would answer "You saw what I showed you, it doesn't mean that what you saw was real, and even if the religious people WERE fake, what about YOU? Why didn't YOU lead a holy life?" So at age 25, 41 years ago, I decided to do just that. We souls don't come down to earth into bodies in packages of 12, 24 or 36, (like eggs), we come "down" alone and return alone to G-d, hopefully having brought back the good deeds we did here on earth!
