I saw him at the Grand Ol' Opry and in a lot of concerts since then, and I still think he was one of the very best. R.I.P., Jim Ed Brown. I'll always love you and your music.
this is one of my mom's favorite songs. it came out about the same time that they sent my uncle (her brother) to the missions in africa. my mom was a tough lady. i am the oldest of eight and she ruled the roost. when she turned 86 she went through with open heart surgery, a quad bypass with an aortic valve replacement. she lives on her own in a retirement apartment and still drives her own car. tough alright but play this song and she turns to mush.

This is a beautiful song. I was born in 1961 so I grew up listening to this being played by my parents. My dad put all his records onto cassettes back in the day, so I told him I wanted the album. (I still have it). This reminds me of the "good 'ol days" when I was a kid. My dad passed away in Aug. 2011, and I have to say that all the music he played while we were kids, remind me of him. I truely love these people, their presentation of Hope, and Love being so pristine, so pure! Tears are an apropriate response to hearing this tender, kind song, unless one hates.
It is our responsibility to re-ignite the quiet power and passion built into the meanings of this song for our children and grandchildren, and their children!
Learnt this in school (1983) with a friend and we used to sing it loud in class, then every time we used to see each other over the years, never grew up, great song.......
I'm only 38, but I love that song. The last verse always makes me tear up a bit. I hope I don't get the urge to listen to this whenever I'm drinking. Lol. And, on a more important note, god bless this awesome talented trio. Their music will live on forever.

My mom loved this song. We would sing it at the spur of the moment. It has been 5 years since she has passed. She broke my heart in the end but I love her still and still listen to this and cry.
This is a great song. It tells us that we come into the world, go through the ups and downs of life, we pass on, leaving everything and everyone behind, then I believe, returning one day where we will be reunited with those we knew, in a new world where there will be no more tears , pain and heart-ache. No more death, but joy with eternal life.

The Browns music is timeless (and Jim Ed's)..My wish is that this kind of music would make a comeback as it is MUCH better than what we have today!! Took me back to my teenage years. I am now 71 years old and the song still brings tears to my eyes.
This is a beautiful song. I was born in 1961 so I grew up listening to this being played by my parents. My dad put all his records onto cassettes back in the day, so I told him I wanted the album. (I still have it). This reminds me of the "good 'ol days" when I was a kid. My dad passed away in Aug. 2011, and I have to say that all the music he played while we were kids, remind me of him.
