Looks great. Good to see the family working together. That extra tab that was in front had me thinking about a new way to do power steering or maybe a steering stabilizer!
Definitely a thought, but there won’t be power steering on this rig 😅 however it does need an upgrade from the stock steering system. We might look into a 520 setup or go with a rack and pinion
@@Tennesseemountainhomestead 520 set up is great. It does double the amount of turns of the wheel. The one thing I thought about is when their worn they get sloppy I think my loader tractor the wheel turns like 1/4 turn before the wheels move. Could probably fix a lot of that with new tie rods and reshimming. Sometime this coming winter I’m going to pull the motor and convert it to power steering. The second con is people want crazy money for them. I converted the box tractor because I had a parts 520 and it was still tight. Rack and pinion might be the ticket!
Yes, I noticed his tractor skips teeth when it gets under a load. There’s a lot of slop in it. It’s also caked in old grease. I need to clean it up so we can get a better look at what we can tighten up

I wasn’t safety squinting, I neglected to put on a pair of glasses and used my chainsaw Sunday. A chip went in my eye and it became a real disaster. Two ER visits Sunday night, and an eye doctor visit this morning. The eye doctor found the chip up under my eye lid, after it scratched up the cornea even worse overnight! Another hard lesson learned. I’m married to a pair of glasses from now on, no matter what the task!
