- My father loved these FC jeeps (forward controls) because his father owned one identical to it, and i surprised him with it in the summer of 2012. He had giving up after i told him this particular FC was sold, only to show him 3 weeks later his name on the Title. I kept it secret and had it hidden in his moms garage. Tears were shed, heres his first drive of our goofy FC.
This FC spent its whole life in Arizona, and was fortunate to have been owned by an Archeologist at Arizona state University for most of its life. So its never seen snow, and was almost all original and intact. Its an absolute blast to drive.
They rusted like you wouldn't believe. The floor pans in ours were surprisingly original and rust free, and its been lucky to never sit for long periods of time. we prowled craigslist for many years, and saw exactly what you mentioned quite frequently.
I don't believe I've ever seen one of those move under it's own power. I've noticed if you see one behind the barn or in the back yard, you'll usually see three or four of it's siblings keeping it company. You're a good boy, you made paw happy. Kudos to you.
When I was 5 years old, I wanted to be my own man and wanted own a car really badly, and it was one such a Jeep FC.
Hey, Colin! Glad to see your dad driving this..nothing like an old vehicle to bring out the kid in a guy! Nice work! :) Jack
