Of all the new iPhones released this year, the new iPhone 14 Plus in some ways is the most interesting to me. Today I will be talking about my experience switching from my iPhone 13 to the iPhone 14 Plus. I will be sharing what I love about this phone, as well as what I like less. The iPhone 14 Plus’s most compelling feature is, you can now get the larger Pro Max display and battery, at a much more affordable price, which may just make the 14 Plus the new best value iPhone out right now. What’s new? iPhone 14 Plus is a new category of iPhone, replacing the iPhone 13 mini. Design and display. Familiar squared off design from iPhone 13 - looks great in Midnight colour. Same notch, FaceID still fast and reliable. Now you can get that big 6.7” display for a much more attractive price. Perfect if you consume a lot of content on your phone. Which size is right for you? Will depend on how you use your phone. For me, as someone who previously always used the regular 6.1” size, going up to the 6.7” 14 Plus was easier than I thought. You get more room for everything; text, menus, videos and larger keyboard are such nice quality of life improvements - after a couple of weeks now, I don’t see myself going back to the smaller 6.1”. 800 nits brightness - not as bright as 14 Pro but still visible outdoors. Performance and battery. 14 Plus has the best battery life I’ve ever had on any iPhone. 10-11hrs of screen-on time (9-10hrs Pro Max). Means almost 2 full days of use! What about performance? This year only 14 Pro’s get Apple’s latest A16 Bionic processor. While iPhone 14 Plus and 14 keep A15 Bionic. I can tell you from having all iPhone 14 models, difference between the A15 and A16, when it comes to normal daily use, is not noticeable, and will only show in exports times or loading big games or years down the road. The iPhone 14 Plus adds 2 new safety features, crash detection and emergency SOS via satellite. Camera. Main wide lens has larger sensor and faster aperture. Are photos hugely different from iPhone 13? Not really. Differences only visible in low light scenarios, where iPhone 14 gets brighter and retains more detail. However, compared to the broader smartphone competition, the dual lens camera system on the iPhone 14 Plus is impressive and still amongst the best. Should you upgrade to the iPhone 14 Plus? iPhone 14 Plus gives 2 big reasons to upgrade: Larger 6.7” display for a much lower price, Best ever battery life in an iPhone. I upgraded from an iPhone 8 Plus to the 14 Plus. Jeez, the difference is night and day. The battery life is insane and I have to charge it far less frequent than my old one. It also charges a lot quicker too. I’ve never had the newest iPhone cause I grew up poor but I got into a position where I can afford it! 😁

I find the larger Pro models too heavy now and that’s why the 14 Plus is so appealing. It’s lighter and still has great battery life!😊
My favourite feature on the new phone definitely has to be the auto focus on the front camera and the fact that you can get the same features just on higher scale Is amazing 👍😊
I upgrade from my 12pro to my 14 plus and the experience has been delightful. Like you, I’m not going back to the smaller screen.
The battery life of this iPhone model is its key selling point. According to Apple, it is the longest-lasting of all its devices and can support up to 26 hours of video playback on a single charge.
The base model's simplicity makes it a great device and it does the job of a phone, even better, the new emergency service of the new iPhone releases is very reassuring to its users, thats my favorite feature @31.15.11
've been on the 8 plus for a long time. Through my work. I just got the se'22, gave my 8+ to my niece as her first iphone. Been thinking of getting this model, but not sure, Don't really need the best and latest, just as long as it works. I'll be happy

Coming from Ip11 and its been 4 days using my 14 plus couldn’t agree more! Won’t go back to smaller screen. Battery life is significant it reallt depends on how or what you use your iphone. Great vid dion!

I absolutely adore this phone! Ive had the 12 mini for a little over a year and a half and the battery health was at 81%. My phone wouldnt even last me a school day which is 8:35-3:35. It was laggy, the battery sucked, and the screen was too small imo. Im a girl and i have bigger hands so i love bigger screens. That being said, i wanted one of the 14 series and i was stuck between the 14 pro max, 13 pro max, and 14 plus. In the end, i chose the 14 plus. I didnt care for all the extra pro features and gimmicks. My 14 plus has everything i want and need in a phone: bigger screen for cheaper price, BEST battery life (used my phone from 6:30 am all the way to 9pm and my phone wasnt even below 20%. Havent had to charge it once. My 12 mini could never!!) and a great camera! The 14 plus is a great phone with great features AND colors (i got purple and it’s beautiful) and i think if you dont want/need all the extra weight (cuz this 14 plus is SUPER LIGHT!!) and the extra features and gimmicks of the pro phones and you want a GREAT FREAKING BATTERY, get the 14 plus!!!!! 10/10!!!!
I am moving from a 12 mini to a 14 plus and this comment really helped me make my decision. I could completely relate to the battery issues from 12 mini though I found it really handy to carry. But the battery life is a major issue. Thank you for being elaborate

I love the size of the iphone 13 mini but I hate its battery. If I failed to bring my charger or power bank then I’m screwed. Thinking about switching but I cant decide yet if I will get the iphone 14 plus or the pro max

I've seen comments about battery drain from Always on Display on the other 14 series phones. My thought is that it's the Crash Detection sensor that's draining the battery plus the location has to be on for that to work.
Midnight looks so nice, I was in doubt between this model and the 13 Pro Max but i couldn't find a brand new one of the 13, so I decided to chose this one and I'm extremely happy with it. I was a bit scared bout the frame rate difference in the screen but honestly it aint that big of deal, great video!
I have herd some people saying one should go with 13promax same screen size, better refresh, extra camera for similar price. The problem is that is not the case for some carriers the price is significantly more and availability is a problem. I went with the plus for value for size and battery. I love consuming video content this fits the bill. So far coming from the 11 loving the 14 plus!

I actually like the size of the iPhone 14. I'm getting tired of bigger phones so the 6.1 inch is a good sweet spot for size and one handed usage. I do wish for something in the middle of the standard and Plus models but otherwise, the iPhone 14 is perfect for my hand. (con_only)

Thanks for your kind words. First question: the display is ok in outside light, but when the circumstances are harsh, than the display of the 14 Pro Max is significantly brighter. For your second question. There is a serious difference between the 60 and 120 HZ, but as most movies are shot in 30 fps, it means that they will show in 60 hz, so in practice there will be no difference. The only difference here might be 60 FPS videos

Not sure if I should comment about the Iphone 14 or the Iphone 14 Plus Loll, but since you said Iphone 14 i’ll go with that. The camera on the Iphone 14 seems to have a good kick considering that it now has a bigger sensor. Of course we can’t forget about the new security features like the emergency sos and crash detection.

Hi, the 13 is still an excellent phone, but if you want the bigger screen the indeed the 14plus is the right choice. The weight difference is minimal. However, as the 15plus will come out next month already and will bring a newer chip, I would wait a few more weeks.

6.1 is correct and proper size, anything more than that is bulky, I felt it is better to go for iphone 14 pro above iPhone 14 plus at the prevailing price.

@ohitsbryan I love both of them but as I've said before, I rather go with a larger display which is the 14 Plus. 14 and 14 Plus shares the same specifications, they only differ in size and/or maybe on the cameras as well but what I really love about the iPhone 14 is that color BLUE iPhone 14!!! That's the way I like it!! It's the perfect blue color for me!!

Its 2 hrs past 24hrs and still left with 33% in my 14+. On checking the screen on time its around 10hrs and this device is great for usual stuffs like web browsing socila media & chat. If you do video call, its drains battery like its lost its soul 🤣
Phones are not purely phones anymore - they are portable smart computer devices - when working on Canva, mobile video & photo editing apps, real estate is king - rest of my family bought into the 13 pro range - I found the screens too small for me (for my use) and when the 14 plus was released, it was a no brainier for me - the biggest niggle for me is that the swiping to minimise an app can be very frustrating at times

I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU for your videos! You helped me A LOT with your videos and your kind comment for my questions. A month ago I decided to get an iPhone 14 Plus. I am new in IOS and Apple and I am very happy with it thanks to YOUR kind answers. For my birthday I got the 14 Plus from my family in red with 256GB storage. I have to say this device is just great! Your videos helped me a lot! I hesitated several month which phone should I choose. I have watched tons of videos about new phones, such as S23 Ultra, the new Rog phone, etc. The 14 Plus is just awesome! I would like to share my experiences:
+ I love the quality of the phone! Its just a real good work. Its a well-made thing!
+ The screen: the white color and everything is on screen is just AWESOME! I love to consume media! Videos, pictures, reading articles... It is on another level! It is like a mini home-theater!
+SIRI! I can not believe how could I live without her! A real SMART assistant.
+Battery: I can get easily 2 days without any problem in my daily usage. I am sad if I get only 1,5 days. It means something. I thought I am a heavy user but according to battery it seems I am wrong (or just Apple did a way tooooooo good job here.)
+Cameras: everything is nice! Awesome photos, great videos! Maybe its just for me a great thing but now I want to go outside and take photos about nature.
+iCloud! For only 1$ we can get 50GB storage. Noone gives this thing for such a low price!!!
I have things I do not like:
- Typing: I use commas a lot and I could not find a good solution to have comma on my basic layout. After several keyboards install I can proof that the basic iOS keyboard is the best because it supports Hungarian letter waaaaaay better than anything else!
- No back button on the bottom. On iOS sometimes going back means left upper corner, sometimes right upper corner, maybe a gesture from left to right. I have to learn it...
-I can not put icons anywhere I want. Apple please: WHY??? (I solved it with a huge weather widget)
- I am still missing the option to have 2 apps at the same time on the screen.
Conclusion: I LOVE THAT PHONE! Despite some negative things I love that device! It works well, thanks to Siri I can solve several problems. The Apple Music works very well with Siri. I can not believe how can something work so well! The camera is AWESOME! Despite "only" 2 cameras this phone is just great! Nice quality everywhere! I love to use this phone! The color is also awesome!

@mjmerces . What I like the most on the entry level of the 14 lineup is that u can get still incredible performance and extended lifetime. The idea for the 14 Plus is also cool, which provides a larger display with no loss on sharpness and what Apple calls the best battery life across all IPhones
What’s your take if you compare with 13 pro max and 14 plus? Both are having the same chip and size?
If the price is the same go for the 13 pro max; Both have the same chip, but the 13 pro max in general has better specifics. The 14plus does have a longer battery life and one year additional software support

There are not so many changes but i think the most important for is camera. Sos feature is still impressive, but sadly i won't be able to use it in my country.

Dude, wait for the 15 line up if your iPhone is still working good. Trust me, even the regular iPhone 15 will have a complete facelift. I'm also waiting with my 12 Mini for the 15 Line up. It's not that far anymore.

Definitely, a 120 or 90 Hz should be included in phones within this price range. With the inflated prices we have this year, I can only hope for a 15 series worth the upgrade. Until then, happy to keep my trusty iPhone 11, which still feels fast and snappy.

The iPhone 14 Plus really is an impressive phone, isn't it Dion? I mean, it's the only non-pro phone this year that you can have and still have it immediately be recognized as the 14 series phone. Battery life means the most to me, so if i can get the wonderful iOS 16 on the large 6.7-inch display without going for the extra camera lens and refresh rate which matter less, i know it's the best deal on the market right now!
@1660th - I think the iPhone 14 Plus will have a niche audience. I like the purple colour and from what I checked, it has an amazing battery life. 💜
Personally, I might pick this over the Pro Models since it’s cheaper and it can do the essentials.

Hi, well the regular 14 is already bigger than the 8 and it has bigger display as it has smaller bezels. And the 14+ is considerably bigger than the 14. I like that size but it rather substantial

The matte back does not add any grip in the slightest. In fact, it's the exact opposite. These matte glass screens are so extremely slippery. Not at all with the glossy ones...
That even is noticeable on the Pro models. When you swipe over the back, it's slippery except for the Apple logo which is glossy.

Its a good review, the bad and the ugly, i just upgraded from an XR and i am happy with my investment.
I prefer IP 14 plus for its size and battery. I want larger phone for zoom meetings and watching some movies.
I took back my iPhone 14 pro and got the iPhone 14 plus. My 14 pro had horrible battery life I even turned off the always on display.

Hi Liza, for every day use the Pro Max might have too many assets you are nog going to use. Then go for the 14plus, with its extended battery life. The 13Promax is also heavier

The only reason I went with the iPhone 13 Pro Max this year is because Apple has a reputation of “dismissing” the cheaper iPhone versions.
My only question is why go with a premium price tag when it comes with last year’s chip? That’s the only reason I’m leaning towards the Pro lineup. That and i value shooting my photos in ProRaw for editing flexibility. As far as I know, the Pros are the only ones that can shoot RAW?

Got the deal from version preferred 14 plus older phones do better job then new phones for whatever reason I own s23 ultra but we moved too version todo bad service on t mobile

My favorite feature is the larger screen, I like the big screen but it was only available on the Pro Max models so now it’s easier to pick.
Rather choose iPhone 13 in the remaining balance buy a charger if needed and AirPods and a case
