Today we’re looking the first 10 things you should do if you’ve just got your new iPhone 14 or 14 Pro or any iPhone that runs the latest iOS16! These tips and tricks will help you get the most out of your iPhone’s features, battery life and performance! Customise your lock screen. iOS16 bring awesome new customisation to the lock screen. Right away you can see this new look. Press and hold onto lock screen. Slide menu to easily switch between different setups. Kind of like changing watch faces on Apple Watch. Press + to create new. Features, suggested photos, weather etc. Globe, shows real location. Tap on time to change font and colour. Change info above - I set date. Add widgets - calendar, weather, reminders, clocks. I use activity and temperate. Pro tip: widgets useful to have but use sparingly, run constantly and use battery! Activate new safety features. Settings emergency SOS - turn on crash detection. Can turn on call with 5 presses - can do in pocket. Add this to FaceID. On the topic of security add this to faceID. Allow FaceID with mask. Add alternative appearance for glasses, makeup for different hairstyles. Turn on require attention and attention aware features for extra security. “Allow access when locked” turn most off. Turn on erase data. Optimise display settings. Light/dark mode - use scheduled best of both. Use true tone but not for editing. May want to use night shift at nigh, limits blue light, again don’t use when editing. Auto lock 3 mins or less, security, battery and burn-in. Raise to wake on, I like, but can turn off for battery. Save battery by limiting number of notifications and background app refresh. How to customise the control centre. Why use and how to setup focus modes. Find new action mode in camera and best way to use. Finally, use iCloud to backup, trust me it’s worth it!

My lockscreen will be minimal, which means I won’t be using any widget on the lockscreen. I have already made few minimal wallpapers to be used on the new iPhone should I get one.

I love how the newer units are gearing towards safety and security features not just for the phone itself but of course also for the users. The emergency sos, whether the crash detection or pressing the power button 5 times will definitely come in handy when the need arises. Plus the wider accessibility for customization on the lock screen will definitely add more of your personality and aesthetic on the phone.

I just went from the iphone 11 pro max to the 14 pro. The size difference makes it feel a little bit like a downgrade, so here I am hoping to find something that will spark the “newness” feeling
I just did too. I didn’t notice much of a size difference.
I went from a 11 to the 14 plus and it’s the perfect screen size

As i've mentioned earlier, the 'crash detection' is my most favourite feature in iphone 14 cz it's gonna be a saver in emergency cases. BTW, you are looking great today.

The best feature of the 14 is the new chassis design that makes repairs easier. An added bonus to anyone who breaks the back glass or the like. It’s a shame they didn’t add it to the pro though

I find it insane that there's no way to arrange icons manually on the home screen, it seems such a basic feature to add.
also, there's no way to change icon size and limited to four "taskbar" icons... very limiting

went from the 4 to the 4s to the 5s to the 5c, then the 6s then the 6s plus, (i repurchased this one 5 times until they stopped supporting it… best iphone ever.) to the 2020 SE and now the 14… i hate it 😢 it’s MASSIVE and hard to use. as a lifelong apple fan it’s so disappointing to not have the home button, proper usb, and headphone jack for car aux. and no f’n charging block ? i don’t have any other chords like this. hate hate hate . but i’m stuck w it
