Am trying to answer to the response from ACCORDingtoTom So will use this. Thanks Tom for the reply. However. As an older (!!!) chap who used to steer using the throttle (obviously RWD cars only) and not on the Queens Highways,I remember the time when crossed up hands were a no no.Control is the key here ultimately, no matter what the view is.The Police tend to be the best real world, four seasons, drivers.Check out their thinking. With the S4 if you were crossed up mid corner, and for what ever reason (!) ,wanted to change gear, it would, safely do so. It is that good. Some cars like the Subaru, Mitsibishi and the above 4x4's flatter your driving. They are certainly not like Hondas S2000, almost any Lotus or earlier 911's - these involve you. Happy, safe driving Tom.Tis an art to enjoy.
because this car comes with the drive select. in order to go into s mode, you simply just select dynamic mode and it will change from d to s in the program
I think this guy needs to do some homework, before putting himself on here. Why is it a problem having the paddle shifters working with the steering wheel? Spirited driving is the key to this car; I have one. It is a fantastic package.Although not very involving. It probably dos everything very well. That engine is so good.... and who needs a V8 now? The sound track is perfect as a V6. Maybe upgrade brakes if you press on a bit.
Hi Robert, it's generally accepted that column mounted paddle shifters and superior to steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. As such, this is the setup racing cars use. If you're driving through a fast corner hand over hand on your steering wheel, it's going to be hard to up/downshift without looking- and that is unsafe. That being said, most of us probably don't drive our street cars in the same manner and it isn't a big deal to have them steering wheel mounted. Also, I did love the V6 motor in this car! I'd happily daily drive an S4 if my budget allowed.
