Awesome mindset, it's what I aspire to after having watched a lot of videos from overwatch coach Spilo. I still find it difficult to adhere to these principle when on a losing streak, but I take a few days off to watch a couple of replays, practice nades and dm, and then it gets better. These tips also help in real life, my SO was trying to decide between two sport clubs and we decided to go with the coach that focuses on growing its players instead of the one focusing on winning. A few things I'd advise is: don't focus on too many things at once. I'd say focus on only one item per session, like "tonight I'll stop wide peeking everything" or "tonight I'll focus on managing my economy" or "tonight I'll aim before I start shooting". You should lose a few games because of it but after sleeping over it it will be part of your gameplay and will only need to be refreshed from time to time. My second tip is : use custom server DMs instead of matchmaking DM
I almost always play with a 5stack, but when games start going south for us we usually just say "we'll call it a practice round. Let's fuck around with it and try some new strats" And because our mentality changed from trying to win to experimenting and seeing what works, 1, the loss doesn't really hurt, and 2, you'd be surprised how often that turns it into a victory. The problem is sometimes that our play style is easily countered by a different one. When we go and do something totally unexpected every round that can be enough to shake things up, even if the strat is kind of dumb. On T, hiding all around the map and making a mad rush for B with 20 seconds left on the clock works way more often than it should lol
I got into my first cs2 game today. Top fragged. Led a team to victory and started a small cult in a streamers stream on the enemy team. My name in the game was "Guy" so people keep telling him "He was that guy". Issue is. I have mad respect for the bro streaming. He had mad awps. Bro was getting that snipe every other second on my team, but with each of us being so in sync for absolutely no reason considering how stupid the whole team was? I mean just color me impressed. We those idiots that's gonna start a group or team and take it to the top man. I didn't think I would enjoy cs2 half as much as I enjoyed csgo, but turns out they got some good fixes and people seem to be cheating so much less. It was an actual banger of a game. I was waiting for this for so long honestly. Years of playing with cheaters and bots and finally I can show my strength where it counts in the game. I genuinely didn't see myself getting back into the game, but after that first premier match? "Yeah, I'm thinkin I'm back." -John Wick (Quote from Jack Reacher idk)
I feel like I could gush for the rest of my life about how good the game turned out. I have no idea why people are upset, but I'm certainly not. Not sure what happened or why the cheaters vanished from what I could tell, but I finally feel like my skill is actually worth something to people now in the game. Sometimes you just want to feel like you're good at what you do man and when I played today for the first time in so long sense csgo stopped. I felt like everything I did was worth it. Am I worth a top spot? Probably not and I'd never claim to be. But right now and in this moment. I'm going to feel absolutely great about myself. And I think that's okay. I love the game so far. I love how well I play. I enjoy everything. Much love to this channel. Much love to all content creators. You make the world a better place probably.

Brother my youtube algorithm brought me to you for a reason. I am on the same journey a month later; I think it'd be an amazing learning experience if I could just que up with you and learn from you for a couple of matches. LMK man!
I would say that you should not look at too many line ups if you're new or want to get better, Getting more used to the fundamentals of CS is wayyyyyyyyy more important. Also if youre solo queing you should know a few solo plays for your maps. Adding lineups in your arsenal after you understand the situations is a lot more helpful. This is just my opinion. Also not every tip from pros and high elo player is helpful for your elo for example on low elo d2 games you dont need 3 people on long (if you have good mechanics) 1 molly can lock it down since most people dont actually know how to properly flash long( this was my experience after playing low elo games )
I play for fun and want nice teammates that also play for fun but some care more about winning than having a good time while playing. Dont understand why some people are so mad and toxic in matchmaking, mm is just casual meant to play for fun but everybody dont see it that way unfortunately :)
I mean yes, you are tryhard, but that’s how life works as well. If you trust yourself, the process, and you put some real effort into becoming better at something, you eventually obtain results. Loved this video and I hope your ambition of becoming better lives up your goals.

@@JROGvids no way lol, now that i see your name i remember the fps discussion we had. Thats some major full circle moment, me and someone else started playing Counterstrike 2 and he linked this video :o Now i can learn from you :D
Strong man keep it up like this and u will play with the most toxic mates and cheaters in 20k plus elo. But at least still better than those bot lobbys for sure
This is me currently. Been playing about a week now, since hiatus for about 2 years. I've almost forgot how to play this game. I play premier and started with 7k rating, now im 10k. I took 3 days to improve myself again, watching tons of 'coached' youtube video, and train myself again on the important nades of all the maps.
I appreciate this video, there's so many helpful tips about self improvement which is something I've recently decided to do. The only problem I have is that I wish there would be a guide on how to verbally coordinate and improve morale on a team as a girl.... I often feel like my opinion and thoughts are invalid and will be rejected just because I'm female. This makes it hard in games when I want to say something that might improve the situation but I hold back instead for fear of backlash and torment. I love the game and I won't stop playing because of some comments from unkind players but now that I've reached a point in my (unprofessional) cs career where I want to advance, I am afraid I will just have to take the extra losses because I don't know how to navigate through this wall. So, if anyone has any ideas on how to deal with the sexist players, please let me know :D many thanks!
Yeah that’s a tough one. You want to communicate and be helpful to the team but you sometimes have a bunch of idiots who just immediately start attacking you. If someone seems hopeless and just wants to verbally attack you, just mute them. Focus on yourself and don’t let losers bring you down for wanting to play a game you enjoy. Hopefully you find a consistent group to play with who will respect your efforts. Best of luck on your journey!
@jrog really good video. But my suggestion use useing 2 ADS sens so it's 1-1 with your hip fire. As well as you should work on aimlab use the same CS2 sens and work on your timming shot star track micro star track and finally spider shot persison
realize im starting ti do the same thing, my aim and gameplay mechanics are decent and i get some good games but i need to start learning more smokes and tactics. I realized theres a lot on common with how you described it and how i did it as well, lots of similarities. Only about 110 hours in
This is what I’m doing atm, I’m doing one map at a time spending two weeks per map trying to master it. One thing that helps is downloading pro faceit demos for the map I’m currently doing and trying to learn tiny tips and tricks that aren’t shown in guides etc
I know you mentioned in the video that you aspire to become the best solo queue player so that you can adapt to any role to assist your team. However, I believe that sometimes this may not be the optimal course of action. For instance, when you're carrying games, it's often better to play in a way that maximizes your gameplay rather than trying to fill a role that may not have as much impact as playing the way you prefer. While it's important to be aware of line-ups and follow your teammates calls, if you're top fragging, you shouldn't be the one carrying the bomb and handling other tasks like that. With that said, I think the approach you're taking is the best way to improve in every role and maybe in the long run being consistent in everyrole. Great video, and keep up the good work!
For sure. I think if you’re looking to climb fast, being an entry fragger is probably the way to go. You are forcing yourself to take more fights and are the one opening up sites and map control. I was interested in becoming a well rounded player and focused on a lot of different things over that period.
I’ve been grinding a few other games since then while I was on vacation. I’m a much higher rating now in WoW arenas, hit master rank in Street Fighter 6, and started learning Tekken 8. Went to a few tournaments for fighting games too. I’ll return to CS2 though. I like competitive games.
@@JROGvids Im playing tekken aswell, trying to learn combos with Jun right now. Not too good in fighting games but trying to get better, only games im good at are fps games
I got to 16.5k premiere while only playing 20 hours a week because of work. The best advise would be treat your opponents with respect in regards to their aim. Always take the easy fights like off angles, blinded enemies and utilities. Aiming wise, focus on crosshair placement and practice microshot on aimlabs. Also you can create your own smoke line ups on each map and just have your team drop you extra smokes. It’s good to find a line up where you can throw 2-3 smokes from 1 position. I have some in my youtube channel.
Such a good video man, it's fun to take a hobby serious and improve your craft. No one likes losing right? Been trying to be the best support for my team possible
As someone who doesn't play Counter Strike, I can confidently say I'll be applying many of these learning methods to my main game moving forward. I play Overwatch for anyone curious.
My best change was to silence and disable all forms of communication plus removing all names and avatars. Only way I found to play this game solo without wanting to uninstall after every match due to the insane levels of toxicity. My enjoyment, focus and perfomance has improved much from not having to listen or read or watch anything except what's going on in the actual game.
Best skill is to have is recognize your mistakes and learn from them any situation. It will get you better really fast. From my experience i was a high elo LOL player so i have some things down, but the voice disabled is just something i dont wanna change. I gave it a try tho, but after 10-20 matches i decieded i have better informations by myself than fake "ITS B ITS B" then the other team rallying on A ...xdd I gave it another chance in my recent matches (according to premier its top 15-10% player,) so i tought it got better but it didnt. So if you are a solo player and your teammates get you angry so fast just play with voice disabled, you will not really lose anything especially in low elo, only 1/10 match you would've get some real information instead of toxicity.
Top % premier is a pretty bad way to see how good players are in an elo. I've seen a lot of trash 19-23k that play like lvl 3 faceit and 19k above is top 4% already. I'd say it's better for you to just have comms on but still have enough awareness to see whether the comms are right. This will definitely improve your map awareness in the long run as well as your decision making skills ingame.
I had a guy ranked 2k in my 14k game last week drop 28 kills. I think variances between matches is mostly this dog shit ranking system. I am climbing though, it's not impossible. Good tips in this video, going to implement this into my game play. Thanks!!

As someone who got into CS2 very later in their life, age 29. I love this kind of nerdy video and am very much trying to do the same!
This guy just like me fr I need more people like you
You have a great mentality. Inspiring video!
@@Inklersblatant cheating died because of vac bans 5% of players soft cheat for sure. If you think someone is sus go in replay mode. I only seen it twice with my own eyes but it’s enough to know it’s not jus people raging.
You're actually seriously underrated, I thought I was watching a video from a TH-camr with at least 100K Subs, keep it up!
Thanks! I’ve been trying to improve my videos and storytelling each video
Honestly loading into a practice match and practicing nades over and over is a massive advantage
Bro those jungle tracks are solid
NGL I had to watch the video twice. I was too busy vibing to the beat the first time round
lol, yeah I like a lot of different types of music. Sometimes certain songs work better than others for background tracks in videos
@@JROGvidsdrop song names please
Chillaxed version of this: Just try to get your 10000 hours in. Wins or losses dont matter.
I appreciate your mindset immensely
I mean yes, you are tryhard, but that’s how life works as well. If you trust yourself, the process, and you put some real effort into becoming better at something, you eventually obtain results. Loved this video and I hope your ambition of becoming better lives up your goals.
I love the thumbnail how you are on T-Side and CT kills every terrorist
Getting some 3rd strikes vibes here :D (Respectable choice of character also)
Nice video, gonna try to implement your tips.
Wow what a full circle moment! I totally watched your Ibuki guides while learning SFV. That was my first traditional fighting game and the character I picked the whole time I played. Nice to see ya again outside of the discord!
@@JROGvids no way lol, now that i see your name i remember the fps discussion we had.
Thats some major full circle moment, me and someone else started playing Counterstrike 2 and he linked this video :o
Now i can learn from you :D
I learned two smokes on mirage while watching this video XD. Also nice video btw
Strong man keep it up like this and u will play with the most toxic mates and cheaters in 20k plus elo. But at least still better than those bot lobbys for sure
Great content and very useful advice + nerd document
Great video, wish you the best for channel growth!
Great vid jrog, subscribed, hope more CS2 guides get the clicks for you!
Thanks, I don't plan on transitioning into just a CS channel but it's one of my favorite games so there will be more vids in the future for sure.
Damn you seem like such a good teammate to play with. Nice Video!
Blud is a nerd...
A respectable nerd
more ppl like u in cs plz - just hit 15k elo, lets go j rog!
You earned my respect and sub ❤
The only video on youtube on how to actually get better at cs2
You are really determined person
Love your mindset !
bro the vibe of this video is cold.
🥶🥶🥶
You are the best, man. Thank you.
MAN THIS DRIVE ME CRAZY 2 SEC INSET CONVINCED ME TO LEAVE A LIKE
Nice fucking video. Didn't expect to get inspired to a New way of looking at cs and looking at life in general. Thank you!
Thanks friend. Best of luck on your journey!
Great video man!
@@JROGvids i forgot to ask, how many points are u right now on premier? i got curious, its been a while this video is up
I’ve been grinding a few other games since then while I was on vacation.
Nice! It seems like a lot of people are trying out Tekken for the first time recently.
bro this video is soo good. I might try something similiar in the future as a video
What kind of video you thinking? CS2 related or something else?
I got to 16.5k premiere while only playing 20 hours a week because of work. The best advise would be treat your opponents with respect in regards to their aim. Always take the easy fights like off angles, blinded enemies and utilities. Aiming wise, focus on crosshair placement and practice microshot on aimlabs. Also you can create your own smoke line ups on each map and just have your team drop you extra smokes. It’s good to find a line up where you can throw 2-3 smokes from 1 position. I have some in my youtube channel.
Great video, I hope to fall one day in Premier on you but on the same side. :)
I had similar approach back some years ago when I got from Gold1 to GE in half a year (although I did not have a spreadsheet :D )
Such a good video man, it's fun to take a hobby serious and improve your craft. No one likes losing right? Been trying to be the best support for my team possible
u are soo good mate, more people like u pls
As someone who doesn't play Counter Strike, I can confidently say I'll be applying many of these learning methods to my main game moving forward. I play Overwatch for anyone curious.
there is only 2 important thing, it's a videogame: have fun and don't be toxic.
This will definitely improve your map awareness in the long run as well as your decision making skills ingame.
thx for good vibe man ;)
Never backdown Never give up!
Great video.
Nice message at the end.
God bless you.
You are a legend bro!
crazy video for 1k bro!!
Thank you man for this absolutely inspiring video!!
Great video!
I had a guy ranked 2k in my 14k game last week drop 28 kills. I think variances between matches is mostly this dog shit ranking system. I am climbing though, it's not impossible. Good tips in this video, going to implement this into my game play. Thanks!!
the transition at 6:05 was clean
