- “Ventura Highway” is a 1972 song by the band America from their album Homecoming, Foxes and Fossils brings it back from the seventies with their tight harmonies and intricate guitar parts. This cover features Tim Purcell on lead vocals.

F and F gives me hope for the historical preservation of the best music era ever, IMHO....

My husband happened upon this great cover of a great original by America. He said it took him back to his 20s when it first came out. He was overjoyed to hear it.

I'm an old SoVA boy, who used to hit La Jolla twice each Winter during the '90s, to surf & escape the E.C. weather. I only wish I had discovered SoCal & Baja in the '80s, right after I graduated. But at least I experienced the beauty of that place, before it became the nightmare it has now become.
I lived in Del Mar just up the road from La Jolla summer of 1981.... glorious, drove down from Eugene where I was a student at UofO....so glad I lived in California during the 80s and 90s.....
My husband is a excellent drummer of many decades he loved it and said tell the drummer he did an excellent job 👏

Kudos to them, but you need to search for Lexington Lab Band.... Much larger group, but equally as good as F and F.

After reading in "Ear Candy" that Toby has Parkinson's disease I have more respect for him than ever! He killed it on this song. Everyone did!
I knew he wasn’t feeling well. I used to talk to Scott and him and Tobey were friends. I wanted to ask about a tremor in his hand I saw but wasn’t my place if he hadn’t put it out.We we’re always trying to get him to smile on these videos.
Having been around people with Parkinson's I have often suspected he had Prkinsons. He does amazingly well.
As a child of the 70's I distinctly remember adoring this one; it remains one of my all-time favorites! Thank you for covering this so expertly.
Same here.In Ireland we didn't have alot of access to music from USA.In the 70s we craved for more and more. The hunger still lingers all these lifetimes later. Now its 24/7 is every room.

I keep waiting for the day that I pull up a new F&F song, and find myself being disappointed by it. I don't think that day is ever going to come.
I moved away from Ventura in February, 1972... When this song came out in November of that same year, the memories of my childhood just flooded in. I know there is no Ventura Highway, but the PCH will take you there and that's what I picture whenever I hear this song. This F&F version gives me the same goose bumps and flooding precious memories - Fantastic Job, gang!
