IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING THE HOUSING CRISIS: I've only attended 2 years at UCSC because I was a transfer student (1 year online during pandemic, 1 year in person) and I've heard that the housing situation in the dorms is terrible. First, you're required to live on campus for your freshman year (meaning you're coming into UCSC straight out of high school), and the range that you'll probably spend per month is $1200-$1400 to split a double/triple. I heard from a friend that he had to split a quad for $1300 a month. Second, there are no grocery stores on campus, so if you're sensitive to certain foods or just prefer to make home-cooked stuff, that will probably not be an option. The campus is very decentralized, so your method of getting across campus to classes or friends' dorms will likely require you to take the bus.
@@budnspud I’ve never lived on campus nor have I ordered stuff to be sent to campus, but you prolly could. Just be aware that it may cause confusion for some drivers, but it shouldn’t be too bad.
