- I'm halfway done working on my next big "all voice lines from a certain character" video, but I wanted to make something extra until then, because it's going to be a LONG while. Meanwhile, enjoy everyone's favorite farmer; Mr. Tweedy.

A mistake she probably isn't making again.
Intelligence can also branch into arrogance, certainly the case with Mrs tweedy, she probably is just assuming that the chickens are too dumb to think of an escape plan, and her husband is just being plain paranoid.

When he said "[they're] revolting", he meant that they're "turning" or "rising against". But revolting has another meaning: "repulsive" or "vile", and this is what Mrs. Tweedie was referring to when she said she agreed.
How he phrased it was perfect for the misinterpretation and set Mrs. Tweedie up for that hilariously golden one-liner.

I just realised something. He’s the one who built the pie machine, yet he still didn’t know what it was.
He asked before he even started building and Mrs Tweedy was being cryptic, so it's pretty clear that Mr Tweedy never knew what he's building, but did it anyway.

4:25 is a bit cute in a way. She's completely evil and abusive, but once she sees a future that isn't in poverty she actually has a small romantic streak left in her. It makes you remember that there had to be something there for the two to get married in the first place.
Also, I just really feel sorry for Mr. Tweedy. All he wanted was to be a simple egg farmer like his ancestors, and in the end his wife took control of everything and cost him his business, his finances, and his home.
At least when the door fell on Mrs. Tweedy, Mr. Tweedy will get all those insurance money for himself

Mr. Tweedy is a classic case of the lesser of the two evils being overly punished, so it actually makes him somewhat sympathetic. And it's satisfying when the roles are reversed between them by the end.

Yeah, Mrs. Tweedy got killed in the end of this movie and I wonder how Mr. Tweedy would've felt about her from happening like that to her? 🙁
One thing about this guy is he outsmarts most of the plans they attempted, even if he got tackled by 50 hens and gets tied up, it didn't even stop him, he still claps it, well it would be a clutching fail for the chickens if it wasn't for Rocky, but still, he was underestimated
From his perspective, the film feels more like a dark British sitcom.
On the one hand, he does eat chickens.
On the other, it's a children's movie and we're not supposed to think about the weird implications too much.

He’s a farmer but he ain’t evil, he could have made his chickens battery (locked in non walking cages) but his chickens are free range. He’s misled by his wife who’s interested in money. So he does have some moral compass.

Mr. Tweedy is the central antagonist of Chicken Run because he seems to have inherited the farm from his parents before he married Mrs. Tweedy and it’s bit of a stretch for Mrs. Tweedy to be considered Ginger’s arch-enemy (she didn’t know Ginger was sentient until the climax, if anything Mr. Tweedy was the one who had a more personal beef with Ginger).

Ah Mr Tweedy, one of those misunderstood characters
I feel bad for Mr. Tweedy. His wife treats him like a servant and degrades and humiliates him constantly, and he only puts up with it because he feels like he has no other choice.
My cannon afterwards, he writes a kids book about chickens always trying to escape their evil owners. Then said book becomes a hit, and he makes a huge amount of money from it.
Mr Tweedy is my favourite character of the movie. A cutie and misunderstood man who deserved much better 😢❤
Good thing he and his ex divorced. He was pretty much trapped in the farm just like the chicken. Even his home became his own prison without noticing. A victim of a clear abusive relationship people used to laugh at only because he's a man (if he was a woman, people could had riot). He also was a victim.

Proud to see, as a Lancashire lad from a farmer (who this farmer reminds me of), this movie makes me feel right at home. Miss ya Dad.
It would be awesome to see Mr Tweedy in The Chicken Run sequel as a supporting protagonist or one of the main protagontists it would be awesome seeing a good side to Mr Tweedy especially his dogs.
And I hope Mark Williams will be mr tweedy as anti hero.

The only time Ms. Tweedy showed Mr. Tweedy affection was a pat on the butt. Which is usually a way to hurry or beckon someone. So even when she's showing "compassion" she's still somewhat very domineering about it.

Poor Mr Tweedy, he only wanted to be loved by his wife and live a normal life, he didn’t deserve the cruel punishments Mrs Tweedy inflicted on him. He only did what he did to prove himself to his wife, and he loved her despite her not loving him back. Mrs Tweedy is a complete monster. In the sequel she is even worse, she didn’t treat Dr Fry (her 2nd husband) any better than Mr Tweedy. And she was literally willing to kill and brainwash innocent chickens and enjoys it.
I'm insulted that they didn't bring him back or even mention the legendary Mr. Tweedy in the sequel.
That's just insulting. He deserved to be the main antagonist, to get revenge

I personally feel sorry for him, I mean yes he was by all means cruel to the chickens but it was because he wanted to please his abusive wife and to not disappoint or look bad in front of her. (And possibly a way to have some control in his life) He constantly gets gaslighted and verbally to physically abused, Sure there was one scene his wife showed flirty affection but that was only one instance. Mrs Tweedy treats him like an idiot and a goon to command, Not respecting or treating him like a husband in the slightest. Overall, He has an very toxic abusive relationship with his Wife and he has been controlled by her since they married.
(SPOILERS FOR CHICKEN RUN 2)
And also the fact I believe Mrs Tweedy divorced him and went off to marry a scientist geek to finally becoming successful and rich, I can't imagine just how Willard felt and struggling to get over his previous broken marriage. I honestly hope for the best for him and he would become a better person, Yes it could take a long process to recover and some life reflections to get him there but nonetheless I hope he finds some redemption.
Atleast it not a slap in the face for Willard while while his ex marry's Wallace indian counterpart.
I like to think that after the events of Chicken Run, he scraped together what little money he had left and bought an orchard.
There he lived out the rest of his days with the two dogs, eventually becoming famous around the county for Mr. Tweedy’s Homemade Apple Pies.
