    Gotta say his style of fighting makes way more sense than almost any other that we have seen. No wasted movement when deflecting blasters and just pure power in combat. I love his character best antagonist disney star wars has had. He seems not evil, just views things differently than others which makes him hard to read in a wonderful way.

He literally said he saw several paths ahead, and that this wasn't the path he wanted to take, it was the one he had to walk. I feel that this squarely places him into the circle of force users who are talented with this gift.

    I was a huge fan of Ray Stevenson as Titus Pullo in Rome, and am still bummed out about his passing. He was a great addition to this show with his imposing presence and physicality, but he also has a sort of jaded wisdom about his character that is absolutely perfect for this story.
    The way he drops the line, "How inevitable," when Anakin's one-time apprentice ignites her saber after speaking with him only briefly is absolutely perfect, and the setup to Ahsoka's reunion with Anakin is masterfully set. Just excellent story-telling.

    I don't peg Baylon as a forsight type Jedi, he seems like Ezra with the gift to connect and that's how he so easily could read Ahsoka and sabine. Ahsoka's guilt over Anakin and Sabine's over the death of her family on Mandalor which BTW is extremely dark, I'm guessing her family was on Mandalor for the night of 1000 tears and they got wiped out. He also probably survived the purge by feeling the change in his clones as it was happening giving him time to react

    I think we should also consider that at this timeline in Ahsoka, the emperor and Vader, two most strong darkside force users are dead so it might also be possible that foresight powers might have strengthened. I think of it in terms of say....librarians. If there was an "Order 67" that wiped out all the librarians on Earth in their library, there would still be LOTS of retired librarians or people who quit the job and later became teachers, florists, stay at home parents, etc....
      I think the purpose of Order 66 was to eliminate the Emperor's chief rival: the INSTITUTION of Jedi, as an organization. The Order could decide, organize, and challenge Palpatine, but single Jedi living as farmers or tribesman or nomads or sheriffs would probably mind their own business until Palpatine could safely track them down and rub them out from the comfort and safety of his throne room.
      Still...i agree with you, there are just TOO many Jedi in these stories. They could just repurpose one of thousands of good stories,. villains, and non-jedi from old episodes of Kung Fu, Gunsmoke, I dream of Jeanie, the Smurfs, Spiderman and his Amazing Friends, Columbo, or ANY TV show from the past 60 years. The universe is not just limited to Mandalorians and Bounty Hunters. There are photojournalists, vigilantes, Book of Eli travellers, revengers, avengers, and medics they could build entire episode arcs around. The Clone Wars has shown us how vast the cast of characters and plots can be (Even zombies!)

It’s been said that force users can’t actually mind read, but they can sense intent and emotion which is something Vader and Maul have been shown to do often. It’s much more likely that Baylan was able to sense Sabine’s emotions such as her desire to save Ezra and her sorrow at the loss of her family on mandalore

      I think there are certainly invasive ways to read people's minds, at least in the newer stuff. Maul with Jesse: "it is not up to you; your mind will speak, or it will break". I agree that emotions are probably an easy way to see into someone's thoughts. But in any case, Baylan has a particularly strong ability to do something of this ilk.

      @shadowcatcherfox5186 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Felixxfb If the Fantasy Flight Star Wars RPG is any authoritative material to go by, they can read surface thoughts, and let's face it, our minds are noisy chatterboxes especially when we're under stress and have something which we feel strongly about that is always nagging on our minds.
      There's several examples of this. The first being when Vader learned about Luke having a twin sister -- that's a specific detail which you can't divine from emotion alone. Then there's the scene in Mandalorian S2 where Grogu and Ahsoka had their silent conversation -- and that's where we learned the Child's name was Grogu -- something you can't just divine from emotions, but through the exchange of surface thoughts.
      For Jedi, that's the limit, surface thoughts. However, Dark Side Users have employed (painful) mental probes to learn things from their victim's minds. The first time we see this is Kylo Ren using it on Poe, and later (humiliatingly unsuccessfully) with Rey. We also see Darth Maul use it to pry information about Ahsoka from a captured clone trooper (Jesse).
      So yes, there's a vast abundance of evidence of people using the Force to read the minds of others.

He is one of the most interesting and mysterious character in Star Wars since Kylo Ren/Ben Solo and Rey and their dyad connection in the Sequels. I Hati is very interesting and mystirous too. I can't wait to see what we'll learn about them in the remaining episodes.
    I know some people hate everything about the Sequels and that is fine, everyone has the right to their own opinion.

      Not how that works, the abilities can be wielded by any force user if learned. Anakin knows about force lightning, his suit stops it. Force lightning is used by Jedi of old order. They never were sith. Luke learned many skills associated in light and dark. Discovered the difference was flow of force verses forcing the force by emotion.

    I view it as a an order of magnitude. Moments before it happens the person is sensitive. Minutes before the person has had some training. Hours before the person has practiced for a significant period of time. Anything beyond the person is considered a master. This does however allow for when the force chooses to show something even to those just sensitive. A person could be gifted, such as Ezra, but without the training they will not be able to make sense of the force precognition.

    Ah, but Jedi were right that foresight is dangerous, especially to writers, it is hard to balance it out, it must be bloor, or limited to some single moments, and not to what lead to them, in that way, it could add additional layer of weight to the scenes, an feeling that everything is clicking together.

    Do you suppose that it is through Foresight that Baylan knew what happened to Anakin? I would think it was either that or he simply connected the dots of Anakin's supposed death and Darth Vader's sudden appearance.
    Though it's always possible Disney will retcon some sort of encounter between the two of them at some point or another.

    • @stanleydodds9
      @stanleydodds9 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Darth Vader has met a lot of jedi. In a new hope, Obi-Wan's description of Vader is that he helped the empire hunt down and destroy the jedi. Some survived the encounter; we know Ezra, Kanan, and Ahsoka all did so. I think it's entirely possible that Baylan saw Anakin's future, but it's also possible that he encountered Vader and lived. "Few would live to see what he became" sort of could imply that he's one who lived, literally seeing what he became.

    Bit of a tangent and not particularly to Star Wars but I find foresight to be silly in fiction. Narratively it doesn’t make sense to have a character that can tell you the end of the story at the beginning so it’s always this well many possibilities but usually wrong in some way. Essentially it’s just foreshadowing by a different name.

    The power of foresight can be a double edged sword. It can show a snapshot of the future but not how fate will take it there. Who knows? Maybe the actions the foreaight user takes to change the future can be what sets off the chain of events leading to what was seen in the vision. Maybe in an effort to guarantee the vision, the action ends up changing it.

    You know who actually has the same type of power of seeing the future General Ron Cuda from the forced Unleashed games because as he was fighting Starkiller Galen Marek he saw himself being with Galen and then when he went blind he can still see I know it's not the Star Wars lore of that game isn't real it's not canon but I believe that I believe General Rahm Kota was an actual Jedi that did help I'm not sure I would say during Order 66 and he was pretty powerful if you play the game you could see what he could do and he was an old man just like batman . To be honest maybe in the next video you could talk about General Rahm Kota as a Jedi.? Just thought I would point that out to be honest they need to make Galen Marek Starkiller they should do a show. Maybe a what-if I think that would be really cool I love the forced Unleashed games I wish they would come out with a third one using Unreal Engine 7 my God I could imagine what a Jedi like that could do.
