I'm a 59-year-old man in California, and that song made me smile from beginning to end, but the outro has me crying tears of happiness. You are beautiful, Petersens. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.
I'm 65 yr old man from San Diego. California and am hearing the Petersons for the first time right now on Cinco de Mayo, 2024, and am equally touched, and very grateful I just ran across this talented group.
Gorgeous family, wow, how beautiful. Best rendition of this classic ever, thank you for sharing your amazing talents and precious gifts 💕, hugs from New Zealand 🇳🇿
I thought for sure this was recorded in a studio (or at least some place indoors) first and then the performance was synced to a pretape, until I realized at 6:08 that they were indeed performing and recording live outdoors. So clean.
I do think it’s likely the recording is done with more mics than what is visible in the video take (or they make multiple takes and move the mics around to capture each instrument/voice more closely).
I'm 66 and really enjoy you guys. A LOT! I don't know if it's my age or the beauty of the song they way you performed it, but tears were flowing. And this isn't the first time you guys have caused this effect. I lost my baby boy in 2000. Even though he was 20, he was still my baby boy. This song reminds me of the things I missed because " work was so important." God please forgive me. I love you my sweet son.
Great cover of a great songs. Once again Ellen's voice is top notch (even with the little girl in her arms, she doesn't miss a note!). Then the harmonies of Matt and Julz!| Katie's fiddle and Emmett's dobro! Mama's bass, even with the bow! All perfect! Thank you guys! ❤ I think it's time for the new "Live Session, vol. 5". There are so many songs. Or even a new studio album!
I agree with you, Roberto. To be able to buy/stream/download the audio of the 2022 and 2023 videos would make a lot of people on TH-cam very happy. There are constantly requests in the comments about this. And a new studio album would be even better.
this is what I think a cover song should be. It offers a different taste from the original but still has the feel of the original piece. truly outstanding group.
Katie’s fiddle solos always delight us with their energy, freshness, invention, and sophisticated range of musical influences. As for Ellen’s voice, I ran out of superlatives a long time ago.
If the good Lord granted me one, selfish wish to waste on myself, it would be to hold my children the way I did when they were babies. This song, sung in this context, makes me double down on my hopeful wish! Beautiful arrangement and performance. Don't turn around, because Macy will be grown in the twinkling of an eye...
Miss Macy a multi-instrumentalist. No big shock I suppose. What a doll! Really great arrangement Emmett. Y'all played so beautifully. Ellen, you sounded amazing.
Oh lord this was one of mine and my late wife's " our songs " and till now none of the covers I've heard could match the feeling I had as I'd take her hand and lead her to the dance floor as the original Aerosmith version. I've found a cover that gave me that feeling.
This was a high school song for my wife and me and something we sang to all four of our kiddos when they were little too. We recently watched Armageddon with our eldest (now 14) and she remarked, "How could they take a lullaby and make it THAT kind of love song?" : )
Greetings from Australia. Just discovered you all about 40 minutes ago. Now, I'm enjoying everything you have online. Love this band! Beautiful family. Thank you.
Welcome!! Have you found these little beauties yet, they're a great way to get to know everyone 😊 th-cam.com/play/PLi4OplF1xLPfqt4PnmaMHWX382_fMqUE6.html&si=bS7-gYgPO3NoGBx4
Oh, that's just brilliant. Ellen is determined to get Macy learning to play all the instruments as well. Well, with all your talents, she has a head start. Best wishes from England.
We drove 360 miles to see you folks at the Franklin Theatre. Such a great show. Just so you'll know. The fiddle player is just a musical killer on that beautiful instrument. So good.
Oh my goodness, you can feel the love from every one of them for the newest member! We shouldn’t be at all surprised that the baby is musically ambidextrous! You are all the purest form of beauty!
I love to dance the Viennese waltz and I love how this rendition of the song is a beautiful Viennese waltz that's the perfect tempo for dancing. Can't wait to waltz to this song in an outdoor setting similar to where this video was made! :)

Music has the extraordinary ability to heal and soothe the soul. Its harmonious melodies and captivating rhythms have a profound impact on our emotions. Music at its best, is something we feel. The Petersens are that rare breed of artists that help us feel and then help us heal.
This sounds like a sweet lullaby. By the arrangement of music its song has a love song and a lullaby. And through the song I was impressed Ellen sang like she talked to her baby gently.
I do NOT think it is even POSSIBLE that you could do ANY song that just didn't sound perfect....and add to that seeing you all connected not only by the music, but obviously by your hearts as well...MORE THAN PERFECT! THANK YOU!!!
Thank you for such a wonderful and beautiful song. I came home from the hospital today and you all made me happy and smiling for the first time in days. ❤ I wonder if you all realize how much love you give me and us all ♥️🙏❤️♥️🙏♥️

Mrs. Haygoods voice is maturing very beautiful, as her family is as well in experience. What a beautiful rendition. You're all pretty darn good in what You are doing here. Love to see You live in Germany if there's a chance You all return some-when somehow.
What to say...one of the sweetest songs ever written, especially dear to the hearts of my generation, now played in the sweetest way possible and brought to new heights. I already wanted to say that I love you all, boys and girls, but then the easter egg came...and put the biggest smile on my face. My children are in their middle teens now, and I already fondly think about when they were so tender and innocent. And the way she touched the strings of both mandolin and guitar spells a lot about the fact that Music is powerful in this One :-). Love from Italy and God bless you all, especially the little angel.
R U kidding me? Using an adorable baby to promote another TH-cam channel video?? Kidding!! My favorite posting ever for America's best family singing group. Your harmonies are getting so good I can't even separate them anymore!! Crazy good. Can't express enough my support for what you are doing and have done.
wow 3:28 the original song didn't have a violin solo. Katie must have written solo. Congrats to her. Everyone was great, wonderful singing Ellen. you are also blessed with a wonderful baby. have a great weekend.
I saw Aerosmith in concert in Raleigh, NC in 1998 when this song came out. They rocked it. However, I do believe I prefer this version much more than the original! Great job, as always! Much love!
What a lovely song. That fiddle solo was really something! Thanks for this rendition. A suggestion for another time: “Who Will Sing For Me” is a tremendously beautiful song, I especially love the recording of Earl Scruggs playing it with Doc Watson and Ricky Skaggs. I would be delighted to see a version from The Petersens.
I felt like I was a guest at an outdoor wedding on an absolutely beautiful day and this was the music that was playing just before the bride and groom walk down the aisle
Everybody, watch until the end! What a sweet moment in the outro. Also, what a beautiful and seemingly effortless performance of this classic tune. I was smiling the whole way through.
The Petersen's are still on a roll! Another song - another 100K TH-cam views! This time it only took 3 days! But in all fairness, Ellen did have a little helper that may have sped things up a little! Best out take of all times! AND now I have a favorite Petersen / Aerosmith song! Great work guys!!! Congratulations Ellen!

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Where every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure
I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna to fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you, baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing
Lying close to you, feeling your heart beating
And I wonder what you're dreaming
Wonder if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes
And thank God we're together
'Cause I just wanna stay with you in this moment forever

@@Liz.Newton Thanks Liz!
È meraviglioso vederlo in italiano. Grazie.
Thanks for the detailed backstory, Roberto! This was a perfect one for the band!
Have a great weekend! ☺️
@@brucebenson5908 Grazie!! 🙏🏼
This song immediately brought tears to my eyes. You can feel the love in Ellen's voice
Ellen's baby is already training to be a musician. So sweet and a wonderful family. See them every time I am in Branson. God bless you all!
lets hope she wants to be a musician.
I'm a 59-year-old man in California, and that song made me smile from beginning to end, but the outro has me crying tears of happiness. You are beautiful, Petersens. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.
Glad you enjoyed it! We thought it would be a fun touch :)
I'm a 64 yr old man in CA. Your words are touching my heart. God bless you, friend.
Me too, just tears...
A beautiful rendition of this song, Love It! Macy is ready to learn to play an instrument, any instrument she can get her hands on, lol!
That was a beautiful and heartwarming performance. It was so nice to see Ellen do this classic song. Also, the outro was so much fun.
I did NOT have shamelessly weeping to an Aerosmith song on my 2024 bingo card. But then, it is the Petersens...
Wow. That violinist can make that instrument sing. My goodness. God bless!
Katie is an excellent fiddle player and vocalist.
As a former novice sound engineer, I am amazed at the quality of audio recording you guys pull off outdoors.
I thought for sure this was recorded in a studio (or at least some place indoors) first and then the performance was synced to a pretape, until I realized at 6:08 that they were indeed performing and recording live outdoors. So clean.
They use Ear Trumpet LDCs
@@lesbsocal9107 I checked out the website they link on their videos. Beautiful mics, amazing quality and wind rejection.
@@lesbsocal9107 LDCs? What are they?
I do think it’s likely the recording is done with more mics than what is visible in the video take (or they make multiple takes and move the mics around to capture each instrument/voice more closely).
Fun fact: This is officially the longest (single song) video on The Petersens' channel, beating Bohemian Rhapsody by 15 seconds (4/20/24).
"I Don't Want to Miss ... this song", dear Petersens !
Greetings from Germany 🙋♂.
God bless all mothers.
Reaching for instruments, I can tell that little gal is a true "Petersen". ♥
You mean a Haygood lol
@@drummer3249 Yeah, but the "Petersen" name carries on. ✓
I don't want to miss a thing the Petersens ever do!
I don't want to miss a thing. Something familiar about that.
Now, where have I heard that???
😊
Amen!
Compassion for you. ❤
That was impossibly cute when Ellen was holding Macy and singing during the closing credits and when Macy grabbed the guitar strings.
“Impossibly cute…” Perfect description!
It's genetic...
there something unique with this group , you get to feel the vibes in your skin
Wondeful rendition by one of the finest country/bluegrass acts around.
100 times better than Areosmith..
Who knew my 5, 3, and 1 year olds’ favorite song would be an Aerosmith song ha! But then again, any song from the Petersens is their favorite!
I never once thought about associating this song with my children…a whole new appreciation for it.
that is a blessing :)
this is what I think a cover song should be. It offers a different taste from the original but still has the feel of the original piece. truly outstanding group.
Listening while nursing my youngest (18 months) to sleep and this got me. Where does the time go? Don’t blink mamas, the time flies by.
God unexpectedly blessed us with a 5th baby. I am so happy to be nursing again and think that I will want to hold onto this for as long as possible.❤
Same for Dads, I blinked twice and have Grandkids graduating College
Everyone is so super but that dobro playing really is the special sauce that brings it all together.
Aerosmith song sung and played by The Petersens??? simply Heavenly....sounds beyond great Family.
Katie’s fiddle solos always delight us with their energy, freshness, invention, and sophisticated range of musical influences. As for Ellen’s voice, I ran out of superlatives a long time ago.
The Petersens family is blessed....
Who says beautiful, wonderful, joyous and family, among many other good things, are gone in America? Look again. Replay it. Well done.
Well said. And those great attributes will come back stronger than ever before.
Congratulations, to the newest member of the family.
Wow, I love the arrangement, and as always, beautiful. Also, the best outro, EVER!
That is perfect, "that is the way I felt about my wife and the way I feel each day now." Miss beyond words.
Enjoying every second of it :)
The outro was really surprising and no other image could be more lovely than the little Macy.... God bless the Petersens!!!
That sweet baby just can't wait to start playing!
One of the sweetest outtakes ever!
You win The Voice, American Idol, etc... without even trying, every time.
I LOVE aunt julianne's smile while looking at the baby while she plays
What a great gift the world The Petersons are.! 😢😂
What voice Ellen has - love to hear it unleashed in this gorgeous song. The band members compliment each other and all are so talented
This was a high school song for my wife and me and something we sang to all four of our kiddos when they were little too. We recently watched Armageddon with our eldest (now 14) and she remarked, "How could they take a lullaby and make it THAT kind of love song?" : )
Wait til the kids see it on "Blades of Glory" 🤣
The Petersens can take anything and make it beautiful.
Absolutey amazing from the Petersens and Emmett, love this rendition of this song
Beautiful! I loved the ending with husband and newborn baby. How precious. Thank you for sharing!
Congratulation, now You have to spent 2-3 month just listening to good music. There are a lot of good stuff with them. Hello from Denmark.😀
Oh, that's just brilliant. Ellen is determined to get Macy learning to play all the instruments as well. Well, with all your talents, she has a head start. Best wishes from England.
They are playing at Union Chapel, London on August 13th this year. Tickets are available now via See Tickets.
That baby's a natural...give it a little time and it'll shine! Great rendition of this classic song!
Any song you sing makes me happy
Fantastic voices and instruments, TRUE music. Thank you ALL, especially little lady for her help. Many blessings and much love.
One of my favorite songs. I was half expecting Steven Tyler to make a cameo, the song always pulls at my heart strings when I watch the movie.
We drove 360 miles to see you folks at the Franklin Theatre. Such a great show. Just so you'll know. The fiddle player is just a musical killer on that beautiful instrument. So good.
The Bridge section was thrilling!
Oh my goodness, you can feel the love from every one of them for the newest member! We shouldn’t be at all surprised that the baby is musically ambidextrous! You are all the purest form of beauty!
Made me cry. I've heard the original a thousand times... Never affected me like this.... Well done!!!!!!! Such beautiful music in these dark times 💓
You can do this! I believe in you
The mandolin!! Great job! Keep it up... I'd love to hear more of the mandolin pickin!!!
I love to dance the Viennese waltz and I love how this rendition of the song is a beautiful Viennese waltz that's the perfect tempo for dancing. Can't wait to waltz to this song in an outdoor setting similar to where this video was made! :)

The Petersensの皆さん。いつも素晴らしいパフォーマンスを本当にどうもありがとう🩷
いつかはブランソンに見に行きたいし、できたらいつか日本にも来ていただきたい。

❤ I wonder if you all realize how much love you give me and us all ♥️🙏❤️♥️🙏♥️
“Your ability to find the perfect melody and lyrics is like a sixth sense. You are the music whisperer!” 👍👍👍

What a treat to see Michael and Macy on this video! Great job on the lead, Ellen. Excellent rendition!
Mrs. Haygoods voice is maturing very beautiful, as her family is as well in experience. What a beautiful rendition.
You're all pretty darn good in what You are doing here. Love to see You live in Germany if there's a chance You all return some-when somehow.
One of the most beautiful song I´ve ever heard!
Everything is better with the Petersens
This is a wonderful song for her. Her voice and range are perfect for this one.
The original was playing at the gym this morning. This is way better. Great job, Petersens.
Ellen's voice is just magical.
Incredible. You all are a treasure.
💯% agree with you!!
My 9 month old baby calms down before sleep everyday with you guys. The song came right on time, thank you so much.
Ellen has a beautiful voice and can sing anything! ❤❤
I'm not going to cry, I'm not going to cry, I'm not going to cry.........not again, Petersens! Thanks always! 😊

I saw Aerosmith in concert in Raleigh, NC in 1998 when this song came out. They rocked it. However, I do believe I prefer this version much more than the original! Great job, as always! Much love!
Oh, that one worked out REALLY well!! Loved the outro, start her on those strings young!!! :)
This sounds better than orgional, and it was one of my favorites! 👍
I needed those harmonies tonight.
I love the 6/8; so appreciate the arrangement.
Welcome to the world, Macy. You are a blessing. You are blessed.
I'm always stunned how perfect a live record can be. You are amazing
It was amazing to see and hear you sing this live last night in London. Thanks for a wonderful evening ❤
The scene with Macy shows how the "baby" addressed in the lyrics could just as easily be an infant as opposed to a romantic partner.
Turns out Steven Tyler wrote it for his daughter Liv Tyler
