Alright, only got to watch this now due to procrastination and school workload, but awesome video as always. It was interesting that you skipped Red Shoes’ motivations while ranking her but included it as the cause of RQ Marian’s dark future. I also liked that you kept the debate about “how to save the future” relatively short. Also… [SPOILER BARRIER] I was about to ask if this story’s time travel mechanics account for grandfather paradoxes, but the ending scene seems to mean we’re possibly going with the “terminator left scraps in the past” route. On another note, considering the talk of anti-heros and sympathetic villains, do you happen to browse TVTropes often? One last thing: Due to “coming from the future”, I happen to know some of this video’s fallen out of date fairly quickly. Also… you’re probably gonna like this next event (if only for the SCP vibes, but probably for bigger reasons). I’ll leave it at that.

At first I didn't thought she turning out to be the bad guy be much impactful mainly in the event there were just too much foreshadowing to the point they just might as well tell us.But after the actual reveal and knowing she was the one who created the updated corruption code I was impressed

It's strange. You seem to have mistakenly included Dorothy in this amazing Villain tier list. It is an indisputable truth that Dorothy belongs in S-tier most of the time and that if she put her mind to it, she could easily be the greatest villain ever known. However, Dorothy is far from villainous. The only "denial, delusion, and violence" plaguing Dorothy come from the Ark's refusal to recognize and worship her as humanity's rightful savior, the people's subsequent delusions of believing that they can somehow survive without Dorothy's flawless, benevolent leadership, and the violence mankind suffers at the hands of the Raptures as a result of their folly. Dorothy is the hero humanity needs but not the one it deserves (No I still haven't rolled her yet) .
Possible Future Villain Tier List: Red Rapi: And now, for our final one, the one you've all been waiting for. The messiah of the Ark and love of my life. The Commander, or rather... the Rapture King. Anis: You know that putting him on S Tier is a disservice to him, he's on a whole other level. Neon: Definitely, between all the theories about what Master was, the buildup, the 10 minute animated cutscene, the music, the tension, the reveal, the armor, the tension, it was something else entirely! Marian: Yeah, as if the events that caused it weren't bad enough, what with Dorothy trying to pull one last attempt at harming the Ark and turning to the Commander to her side by putting me in danger. Really, that was a low move. She was the real villain that time. Snow White: I'll have to agree, though it seems getting locked up and hitting rock bottom is finally making her change. Wish it didn't lead to what came next. Not only did he completely us, along with Scarlet, Rapunzel, Cinderella, and Grave without breaking a sweat, he then went on to kill my old Commander, who was like a Father to me, before nearly killing everyone in the Ark. Marian: Hey, cut him some slack! He never wanted to hurt anyone in there, it was the Central Government and their real plans that he was taking down, since awakening his real powers caused him to get his memories back, making him remember just what his life was like. Honestly, I can't say I feel bad for those scientists and secret officials, they deserved it. Though it is sad what happened to all his fellow clone brothers. Killing all of them to prevent any other vessel of the Rapture King from existing was necessary, and even killing Anderson was only because he realized that Anderson also carried essence of the King. It wasn't personal, he was only trying to save us. And sure, trying to destroy the 2 Rapture mega cores powering the Ark was bad, but at that point, it's pretty obvious that he was going insane, and wasn't really thinking at that point. I mean, he tried to blow himself up! Red Rapi: Good thing Helm was able to track his body to that island after it went shooting through the roof of the Ark like a missile from the explosion. And I'm inclined to side with Marian on this, especially once we all saw his memories and what his life was like... and I thought my life was hell. Does Shift Up have a hard on for gruesome backstories, because they did not hold back at all. Anis: Tell me about it. Raised all his life being brutalized and experimented on to be a vessel for the Rapture King, fighting to his brothers to see which was better, with the loser being killed due to being weak. Spending any time not being experimented on in a hospital, which is the only reprieve you get before being experimented on again. Then you finally find a friend who lets you be normal with, and you actually get moments of happiness, even sharing a dream, before you're forced to forget her while she turns into a Nikke against you. But then, you meet her again, and your subconscious feelings let the 2 of you bond again on the battlefield... and then it turns out she's corrupted, and you have to put a bullet in her head... leading to what comes next in the story... until you finally remember everything... including how important she was to you... and that you killed her... Neon: Or were those memories even Master's, and is Master even Master? Remember what that other clone said, he had the same memories, so it's possible Master never knew Marian in the 1st place... talk about the existential crisis. Red Rapi: Falling down the rabbit hole now...

Don't think Syuen is supposed to be considered a villain same for Doro. Raptures, Queen, CG, Crow, RS and most heretics can be considered plain evil and villains the rest who knows what time will tell. Most would be at lower tiers imo.
Dorothy is just having an extended crashout. Understandable after Pinne. She needs some alone time with the Commander and some character development to get back to form.

Red Shoes feels like a mcguffin to explain why corruption was different between Red Hood and every other Nikke. Peak Villain is Syuen. Who is a personal threat that moves the plot and introduces world buliding elements. While Syuen will likely get redeemed it will be sure to be rocky and filled with plot. Actual plot mind you Syuen is not that stacked. Man also the researchers for Milsilis are corrupt as hell mostly the ones involved in Anne's ongoing treatment and experiments.
Okay, gotta say it again, as it always seems to get passed over by everyone. Enikk didn't just send Marian (corrupted) to be dealt with by Chatterbox, she also sent the COMMANDER (aka the player) to a death sentence, the commander was not supposed to survive that encounter. That specific incident also begs the question, if Ingrid and/or Anderson also knew about that plan, given that they test the commander and counters (in simulation room) right after they returned (cause they wanted to know how we survived). The commander has several villains try to kill them through the story (oddly enough, mostly Nikke's) but this Enikk decision is probably the largest one people dont seem to react to or even acknowledge. The Commander was a sacrifice, and a human one at that, which is very different (in the story) than just sending up a bunch of mass produced nikkes for chatterbox to consume. Simply put, we weren't even worth knowing our name when we got sent to the surface, and only after the "scan" did the Nikke's we ran into even acknowledge us (and only cause their commander had died as planned) TL:DR: Commander was supposed to die at the beginning of the game, through dumb luck (at that point we had no real skill, as it was our first mission (in game or as an actual player) we survived to see another day. Everything that happened after that was cause we lived when we shouldnt have, you can also add the follow up mission where Rapi looses her head to that, they knew what they were sending the Commander into, and it was supposed to be quite the important mission. Why send the noob, just cause they got lucky once. Granted it works out for us, but plot armor does funny things to the story sometimes. Bottom line, Enikk isnt about to start doing some bad Sh!t, she's been doing it for quite awhile! *Edit, overall an interesting and entertaining story, albeit a divergent one.
That's a really good point I'd never considered. I would assume Ingrid and Anderson were unaware of what Enikk was doing. I can't imagine Anderson allowing his clone (or whatever the Commander is) just get thrown away in a suicide mission. But your overall point that Enikk probably knew about the Commander's vapaus status and she intentionally tried to get him killed really signals her being evil.
@@ExportErrorMusic You make it sound like Enikk reports to Anderson or anyone else? He doesn't, "Enikk's decisions are final". Odd, but that has been stated repeatedly. Anderson doesnt have a choice in her decisions, not do any other humans. She doesn't even have to tell them, she autonomous. She is able to do when, what and how she wants, no questions asked (which also mean her being sixo is pointless/redundant)
To be fair people likely don't really care since it dosen't really registar since it's not directly brought up and the commander is a blank space for the player to snuggle into for the most part.
Wonderful story EEM, really a nice narrative. I must always argeu that Burningum might be an antagonist he is not yet a villain, his motives are always presented from the good of the ark but his methods are the ones keeping him in the "wrong side" of the fandom apreciation. Hope we learn more about Jien, at least a little bit, on this new event focused on MMR, Mana and Ether!!!. Let's never forget the MAIN villain on the ark is THE CENTRAL GOVERMENT, as they said the root of all corruption in the ARK. As a PERSONAL villain is the DOCTOR/Researcher that experiment on RAPI for all those years and then let her go, ALONE, BARED FEET and with only a hospital gown to cover her, I need to find him and "have a talk" about caring for children welfare. Oh Marian... your besti is and always has been the one caring for you and the one you hate the most...

any clue what would happen to the Nikkes if humanity actually won the war and crushed the Raptures though? my guess is that they'd be left behind and eventually forgotten or sold off to the highest bidder.

If humanity never lost the surface due to Red Shoes evolving corruption causing the massive changes, we'd find Marian before she got turned into a Nikke and we would have fulfilled Rapi's story that she told Liveryn... being married, 2 kids and a dog.

As of now, i disagree with the tier of syuen, doban will soon be S once he uncover dorothy's past and he will gain power and influence in the ark, and will dethrone anderson's power. Dorothy will be in a redemption arc sooner or later. Crow will be usefull to the commander and might have a redemption arc once the commander rebel to the ark. And yes Red Shoe is Top S.

But, here’s the thing, without Goddess(more specifically Snow White) where would we scavenge a Vapaus Bullet to cure Marian in that point of the story? 32:25 I feel so bad for Future Marian 😢. The solution was rather simple, make me the Supreme Leader of Humanity and then assemble an extremely loyal team of Nikke researchers to research the technologies of the cube, while F.Marian and normal Marian protect me on my right and Rapipi protects me on my left while Anis and Neon feed me seedless grapes! Amusingly or sadly enough, had the Commander known of what his own blood could do at the time, the Commander could have saved Marian/Modernia so she would have kept her memories and not needed the memory wipe, may not of prevented the other things that happened to Marian, but that one is entirely on us. "Marian, I'm sorry...." --Commander when he finally understood Vaupas Just to little to late.
Rapi clears Marian at this point and its not even funny. Footsteps walk run blows first and second affection out of the water and Rapi's SSR design is frankly perfect for her. I also have her MLG'ed and shes my 4th strongest so... yeah 😜 Rapi for the win

Very well done. I know you’re taking a break for the time being but I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. With all that said, that’s 2 for 2 in regards to Sin and Cecil getting away with nefarious acts. While I’d say canon Cecil could be somewhat trusted with such information, this version certainly isn’t. First the tech that made Scheherazade, now Rapture Queen tech? This can only go poorly. Glad to see Snow White is at least suspicious of her but with Sin’s mind control in play, if she plays this smartly Cecil could keep this con going for a while. Though if you ask me, giving Sin any form of enhancement to her powers is a monumentally bad decision. Though if we’re talking about bad decisions, then Future Marian honestly made a big one herself. Why couldn’t she have just ran away and destroyed it at her leisure when she was hidden? Guess that’s just a combination of desperation and the fact that perhaps she hasn’t changed too much from the present version in the brains department. Side note though if you don’t mind me asking, how powerful is Sin’s mind control at this point? Cinderella seemingly easily brushed it off in the last arc and overcame the ‘much stronger’ Little Mermaid’s empowered by Spindrift in her backstory. Is she still safe at this point, because It’s probably only her and Scheherazade that can actually resist her at this point.
Thanks for your questions, it's always really exciting when people get into the stories I write. - Yes, this version of Cecil is much more evil than canon Cecil. Crown pretty much lays out how Snow White views Cecil in this story. Either she's a fool who's trying to work with Dorothy, and therefore can't be trusted. Or she's evil herself, and can't be trusted. - Actually, Cecil giving Sin the experimental Spindrift is a way for Cecil to gain even more control over Sin. Both of them realize that while yes, the Spindrift allows Sin to use her powers from a distance, if Sin ever tries to betray Cecil then Cecil will likely use Sin's reliance on Spindrift against her. In other words, Sin got a very useful and shiny collar put on her, but both her and Cecil know who holds the leash. - Yeah, in the original version of the script I had Cecil narrating about how "Future Marian subdued the Pilgrims, but not easily. They had managed to injure her, if only moderately." The implication was going to be: if the Pilgrims recovered and Scarlet's team and Inherit arrived, there's no way Marian could win. Although yes, Future Marian also being kind of dumb like present Marian is also a good explanation. As far as Sin's power level in this story goes, that's something I really wanted to expand on but just couldn't fit it in. So I'll explain here, sorry for the wall for the wall of text. - First, Spindrift doesn't actually enhance Sin's power it just lets her use it from a distance. I guess technically this could make it slightly stronger as her target wouldn't know they are being targeted, but in general it doesn't actually make her more powerful. - Also, the only reason she was able to subdue the more powerful Pilgrims (specifically Crown and Marian) in the "ABNORMAL BURST ANIMATION" tier list was because, as she told Trony, "With this genie enhancing my abilities, dealing with those Pilgrims was child's play". Implying that without the genie, she'd very much struggle to control them. The reason Sin is still able to control them in this event is shown in Part 1 of this story, where Marian and Crown praise Sin during the tier list and have to be healed by Rapunzel. As Crown says, "I think there's still some leftover side effects from our last encounter with Sin", i.e. after being controlled by genie-enhanced Sin, they are still temporarily more vulnerable than normal to her power. - As for the other witnesses to Future Marian's "death", Snow White is particularly vulnerable to Sin's influence due to her multiple mind switches. Same with Dorothy and any mentally unstable Nikke. As for Isabel, she isn't being influenced by Sin at all, she's just following Cecil's orders to shut up and not say what really happened. - Finally, as far as who can resist Sin's power in this story: Cinderella is still easily able to ignore it (as would all Gen 2 Grimm's models). Same with Scheherazade. Crown and Marian will soon be fully recovered and able to again resist her. Scarlet and Rapunzel would probably be able to fight it though not as well as everyone else mentioned. And as was shown in the "MISSILIS BURST ANIMATION" tier list, even strong willed and powerful Nikkes like Laplace are able to resist Sin to a surprisingly high degree (see when they were doing the review of Sin's burst). Finally, it's unlikely Sin would be able to control any Inherit member (partly because Cecil would immediately kill Sin if Sin tried to take control of her most powerful creations). It's strange. You seem to have mistakenly included Dorothy in this amazing Villain tier list. It is an indisputable truth that Dorothy belongs in S-tier most of the time and that if she put her mind to it, she could easily be the greatest villain ever known. However, Dorothy is far from villainous. The only "denial, delusion, and violence" plaguing Dorothy come from the Ark's refusal to recognize and worship her as humanity's rightful savior, the people's subsequent delusions of believing that they can somehow survive without Dorothy's flawless, benevolent leadership, and the violence mankind suffers at the hands of the Raptures as a result of their folly. Dorothy is the hero humanity needs but not the one it deserves (No I still haven't rolled her yet) .
You should make a ranking of Raptures boss enemy. 🎉

Marian: Yeah, as if the events that caused it weren't bad enough, what with Dorothy trying to pull one last attempt at harming the Ark and turning to the Commander to her side by putting me in danger. Really, that was a low move. She was the real villain that time.
Snow White: I'll have to agree, though it seems getting locked up and hitting rock bottom is finally making her change. Wish it didn't lead to what came next. Not only did he completely us, along with Scarlet, Rapunzel, Cinderella, and Grave without breaking a sweat, he then went on to kill my old Commander, who was like a Father to me, before nearly killing everyone in the Ark.
Marian: Hey, cut him some slack! He never wanted to hurt anyone in there, it was the Central Government and their real plans that he was taking down, since awakening his real powers caused him to get his memories back, making him remember just what his life was like. Honestly, I can't say I feel bad for those scientists and secret officials, they deserved it. Though it is sad what happened to all his fellow clone brothers. Killing all of them to prevent any other vessel of the Rapture King from existing was necessary, and even killing Anderson was only because he realized that Anderson also carried essence of the King. It wasn't personal, he was only trying to save us. And sure, trying to destroy the 2 Rapture mega cores powering the Ark was bad, but at that point, it's pretty obvious that he was going insane, and wasn't really thinking at that point. I mean, he tried to blow himself up!
Red Rapi: Good thing Helm was able to track his body to that island after it went shooting through the roof of the Ark like a missile from the explosion. And I'm inclined to side with Marian on this, especially once we all saw his memories and what his life was like... and I thought my life was hell. Does Shift Up have a hard on for gruesome backstories, because they did not hold back at all.
Anis: Tell me about it. Raised all his life being brutalized and experimented on to be a vessel for the Rapture King, fighting to his brothers to see which was better, with the loser being killed due to being weak. Spending any time not being experimented on in a hospital, which is the only reprieve you get before being experimented on again. Then you finally find a friend who lets you be normal with, and you actually get moments of happiness, even sharing a dream, before you're forced to forget her while she turns into a Nikke against you. But then, you meet her again, and your subconscious feelings let the 2 of you bond again on the battlefield... and then it turns out she's corrupted, and you have to put a bullet in her head... leading to what comes next in the story... until you finally remember everything... including how important she was to you... and that you killed her...
Neon: Or were those memories even Master's, and is Master even Master? Remember what that other clone said, he had the same memories, so it's possible Master never knew Marian in the 1st place... talk about the existential crisis.

Red Shoes and Crow are the only characters in Nikke I can easily refer to as pure evil.
Red Shoes feels like a mcguffin to explain why corruption was different between Red Hood and every other Nikke. Peak Villain is Syuen. Who is a personal threat that moves the plot and introduces world buliding elements. While Syuen will likely get redeemed it will be sure to be rocky and filled with plot. Actual plot mind you Syuen is not that stacked. Man also the researchers for Milsilis are corrupt as hell mostly the ones involved in Anne's ongoing treatment and experiments.

Okay, gotta say it again, as it always seems to get passed over by everyone.
Enikk didn't just send Marian (corrupted) to be dealt with by Chatterbox, she also sent the COMMANDER (aka the player) to a death sentence, the commander was not supposed to survive that encounter. That specific incident also begs the question, if Ingrid and/or Anderson also knew about that plan, given that they test the commander and counters (in simulation room) right after they returned (cause they wanted to know how we survived).
The commander has several villains try to kill them through the story (oddly enough, mostly Nikke's) but this Enikk decision is probably the largest one people dont seem to react to or even acknowledge. The Commander was a sacrifice, and a human one at that, which is very different (in the story) than just sending up a bunch of mass produced nikkes for chatterbox to consume. Simply put, we weren't even worth knowing our name when we got sent to the surface, and only after the "scan" did the Nikke's we ran into even acknowledge us (and only cause their commander had died as planned)
TL:DR: Commander was supposed to die at the beginning of the game, through dumb luck (at that point we had no real skill, as it was our first mission (in game or as an actual player) we survived to see another day.
Everything that happened after that was cause we lived when we shouldnt have, you can also add the follow up mission where Rapi looses her head to that, they knew what they were sending the Commander into, and it was supposed to be quite the important mission. Why send the noob, just cause they got lucky once. Granted it works out for us, but plot armor does funny things to the story sometimes.
Bottom line, Enikk isnt about to start doing some bad Sh!t, she's been doing it for quite awhile!

That's a really good point I'd never considered. I would assume Ingrid and Anderson were unaware of what Enikk was doing. I can't imagine Anderson allowing his clone (or whatever the Commander is) just get thrown away in a suicide mission.
But your overall point that Enikk probably knew about the Commander's vapaus status and she intentionally tried to get him killed really signals her being evil.

To be fair people likely don't really care since it dosen't really registar since it's not directly brought up and the commander is a blank space for the player to snuggle into for the most part.

Very well done. I know you’re taking a break for the time being but I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. With all that said, that’s 2 for 2 in regards to Sin and Cecil getting away with nefarious acts. While I’d say canon Cecil could be somewhat trusted with such information, this version certainly isn’t. First the tech that made Scheherazade, now Rapture Queen tech? This can only go poorly. Glad to see Snow White is at least suspicious of her but with Sin’s mind control in play, if she plays this smartly Cecil could keep this con going for a while. Though if you ask me, giving Sin any form of enhancement to her powers is a monumentally bad decision.
Though if we’re talking about bad decisions, then Future Marian honestly made a big one herself. Why couldn’t she have just ran away and destroyed it at her leisure when she was hidden? Guess that’s just a combination of desperation and the fact that perhaps she hasn’t changed too much from the present version in the brains department.
Side note though if you don’t mind me asking, how powerful is Sin’s mind control at this point? Cinderella seemingly easily brushed it off in the last arc and overcame the ‘much stronger’ Little Mermaid’s empowered by Spindrift in her backstory. Is she still safe at this point, because It’s probably only her and Scheherazade that can actually resist her at this point.

- Yes, this version of Cecil is much more evil than canon Cecil. Crown pretty much lays out how Snow White views Cecil in this story. Either she's a fool who's trying to work with Dorothy, and therefore can't be trusted. Or she's evil herself, and can't be trusted.
- Actually, Cecil giving Sin the experimental Spindrift is a way for Cecil to gain even more control over Sin. Both of them realize that while yes, the Spindrift allows Sin to use her powers from a distance, if Sin ever tries to betray Cecil then Cecil will likely use Sin's reliance on Spindrift against her. In other words, Sin got a very useful and shiny collar put on her, but both her and Cecil know who holds the leash.
- Yeah, in the original version of the script I had Cecil narrating about how "Future Marian subdued the Pilgrims, but not easily. They had managed to injure her, if only moderately." The implication was going to be: if the Pilgrims recovered and Scarlet's team and Inherit arrived, there's no way Marian could win. Although yes, Future Marian also being kind of dumb like present Marian is also a good explanation.
As far as Sin's power level in this story goes, that's something I really wanted to expand on but just couldn't fit it in. So I'll explain here, sorry for the wall for the wall of text.
- First, Spindrift doesn't actually enhance Sin's power it just lets her use it from a distance. I guess technically this could make it slightly stronger as her target wouldn't know they are being targeted, but in general it doesn't actually make her more powerful.
- Also, the only reason she was able to subdue the more powerful Pilgrims (specifically Crown and Marian) in the "ABNORMAL BURST ANIMATION" tier list was because, as she told Trony, "With this genie enhancing my abilities, dealing with those Pilgrims was child's play". Implying that without the genie, she'd very much struggle to control them. The reason Sin is still able to control them in this event is shown in Part 1 of this story, where Marian and Crown praise Sin during the tier list and have to be healed by Rapunzel. As Crown says, "I think there's still some leftover side effects from our last encounter with Sin", i.e. after being controlled by genie-enhanced Sin, they are still temporarily more vulnerable than normal to her power.
- As for the other witnesses to Future Marian's "death", Snow White is particularly vulnerable to Sin's influence due to her multiple mind switches. Same with Dorothy and any mentally unstable Nikke. As for Isabel, she isn't being influenced by Sin at all, she's just following Cecil's orders to shut up and not say what really happened.
- Finally, as far as who can resist Sin's power in this story: Cinderella is still easily able to ignore it (as would all Gen 2 Grimm's models). Same with Scheherazade. Crown and Marian will soon be fully recovered and able to again resist her. Scarlet and Rapunzel would probably be able to fight it though not as well as everyone else mentioned. And as was shown in the "MISSILIS BURST ANIMATION" tier list, even strong willed and powerful Nikkes like Laplace are able to resist Sin to a surprisingly high degree (see when they were doing the review of Sin's burst). Finally, it's unlikely Sin would be able to control any Inherit member (partly because Cecil would immediately kill Sin if Sin tried to take control of her most powerful creations).
